Ah, yes. I'll be in the ballroom in moments.
[A brief pause]
Thank you
[And she shuts the device off. She's going to apparate since she's been in the ballroom. If Tony is quick, he'll see her appear. If he's not, she'll be waiting there for him to escort her to the workspace with the alcohol.]
[He is...not quick. But he strides up with a quieter smirk than usual.]
My lady- your carriage awaits.
Lily gives him a weak smile, tucking her wand in the pocket of her skirt.
"Somehow I wouldn't dismiss the idea of an actual carriage from you."
She's attempting to deal with losing Harry this way and for the most part, she is doing all right even if her smiles seem a bit hollow and her conversation a bit lacking in usual wit.

Not a word or comment toward her situation. He knows he would appreciate some distance. Some slight company, but complete silence on anything and everything that might be upsetting him.
So he'll provide the company.

"It takes your fingerprint? Really?" Technologically she is so far behind. "Is there anything else is scans? This feels a bit like a James Bond film."
At least this is likely to divert her attention from what's upsetting her if nothing else.

The halls are winding and almost clinical in their lack of decoration, but as they near the glass walls of his workroom, the sterility fades despite the rigidness of the machines and equipment. It feels almost like home. At least, it does for Tony.
A keycode is entered in this time and the doors slide open. "Welcome to my humble home."
It's not very humble at all, but whatever.

"I've no idea what half of these things do and it's a bit mad scientist lab but it's a magnificent mad scientist lab."

"Dummy? Give the pretty lady a glass, please. Chilled- do you like champagne?"
no subject
She looks about, surprised at the bot he's talking about. She nods in response to the question. "I do." She bites off any comments about champagne being for celebrating because maybe it's not. Not always anyway.

"Take a seat, enjoy the-- nuts and bolts, as it were." Dummy rolls over to her, its extended arm offering the cool flute of champagne to her.

"Not having champagne as well?"

"I'm assuming that's not a disembodied voice. You can tell whomever it is raising the alert that I was very insistent and it's impolite to let a lady drink alone."

He nods his thanks to his robot and raises his glass to her.

She raises her glass. "Shall we toast to friends then?"
no subject
"Now that hit the spot."

She has an idea, having seen him drain the glass while she's still sipping. Just because she doesn't want to concentrate on her problems, doesn't mean she doesn't want to concentrate on his.

Regardless of his complaints, the thought that someone does care enough - especially Captain Freaking America - is somewhat pleasant. Weird, but pleasant.
