When; January 8
Rating; PG-13 or so? There's drinking.
Characters; Tony Stark and Lily Potter
Summary; Lily is sad. Harry left. Tony thinks drinking will help. She's not sure it won't. This is a scene in progress from LJ.
Log;

Ah, yes. I'll be in the ballroom in moments.

[A brief pause]

Thank you

[And she shuts the device off. She's going to apparate since she's been in the ballroom. If Tony is quick, he'll see her appear. If he's not, she'll be waiting there for him to escort her to the workspace with the alcohol.]

[He is...not quick. But he strides up with a quieter smirk than usual.]

My lady- your carriage awaits.

Lily gives him a weak smile, tucking her wand in the pocket of her skirt.

"Somehow I wouldn't dismiss the idea of an actual carriage from you."

She's attempting to deal with losing Harry this way and for the most part, she is doing all right even if her smiles seem a bit hollow and her conversation a bit lacking in usual wit.

"It's not impossible, no, though limos are more my taste. Fast cars even more so- but it's less romantic." He gestures for her to follow him as he makes his way toward the Authorized Personnel Only elevators- he need only a fingerprint before the doors slide open and he steps on.

Not a word or comment toward her situation. He knows he would appreciate some distance. Some slight company, but complete silence on anything and everything that might be upsetting him.

So he'll provide the company.

"My retinas, occasionally, or the sound of my voice. But, yes, I thought the fingerprints would be one, cooler, and two faster."

The halls are winding and almost clinical in their lack of decoration, but as they near the glass walls of his workroom, the sterility fades despite the rigidness of the machines and equipment. It feels almost like home. At least, it does for Tony.

A keycode is entered in this time and the doors slide open. "Welcome to my humble home."

It's not very humble at all, but whatever.

"Yeah? Some people call me a mad scientist, other people call me the Angel of Death. I prefer genius, but beggars can't be choosers." He glances at the supposed wonderful view - he appreciates it well enough, really, but only because he can.

"Dummy? Give the pretty lady a glass, please. Chilled- do you like champagne?"
ironmanic: (Well I never)

The robot whirrs and fetches the necessary items, used to playing barista whenever Tony brought a guest over. Tony grabs a bottle of black liquid from the fridge next to his desk, quite aware that if he should get anywhere near tipsy, JARVIS will tattle on him to Steve. Damn AI.

"Take a seat, enjoy the-- nuts and bolts, as it were." Dummy rolls over to her, its extended arm offering the cool flute of champagne to her.
ironmanic: (Dear. God.)

"I can probably have one before JARVIS decides to raise the red alert on me." Tony rolls his eyes and takes a swig of his delicious, wonderful chlorophyll. He sits on his desk, not caring for the various and rare papers he doesn't store on his server.

I ONLY DO ASK I AM ASKED, SIR.

"That's just JARVIS. He runs the house." He gestures to Dummy who then prepares him a flute of champagne as well before setting aside his water bottle of blackness. "And I can't argue with that logic. I am a gentleman, after all."

He nods his thanks to his robot and raises his glass to her.
ironmanic: (☣ Cheers)

"Cheers. To great friendship." He gives something of a smirk, lifting his glass toward her before knocking back a long sip. The champagne burns sweet in his throat, and he exhales with a long, content sigh.

"Now that hit the spot."

"I was told I'd be suitably harassed if I did. Supposedly for company -- don't know where he got the idea that I needed it." He wears an exasperated expression, shaking his head at the memory of Steve in this very workroom.

Regardless of his complaints, the thought that someone does care enough - especially Captain Freaking America - is somewhat pleasant. Weird, but pleasant.
