Log- Incomplete

When; This evening.
Rating; PG, at most.
Characters; Genma [[livejournal.com profile] senbon_shinobi] and Hayate [[livejournal.com profile] hayate].
Summary; Genma arrives in the city and Hayate comes to greet him.
Log;

Even though he had been reading up on this strange city, Genma was still taken aback when he had finally managed to get there. He had been thinking about Hayate back home in his apartment, and about seeing him again, and when he had walked into his closet to change clothes after a long day, he found himself in front of the carousel.

And that ticking. That was going to get annoying fast.

But regardless of the strange new surroundings, Genma was more anxious about seeing Hayate again than anything else. Talking over those journals was much different than meeting someone in person. But ever since he had found out that the other special jounin was miraculously alive again, he had craved to see him again.

Impatient, but not showing it outwardly, he stood with his hands in his pocket, chewing thoughtfully on the needle sharp senbon, eyes scanning the crowd for that familiar face.

This...this was definitely something he missed. It wasn't just the fact that Genma was kissing him, it was all that came with it. The gentle touch on his face, the feel of soft hairs brushing against his cheeks as his head was tilted back, puffs of breath against his lips, and of course, the taste. It was mint and old coffee and the odd metallic tang that was just purely Genma.

It was the fact that he could kiss Genma again, and the knowledge was a heady thing. He couldn't even remember feeling like this, except perhaps when he realized that his senpai, who he had been secretly watching for months, was pursuing him and not just teasing the rookie. He had been young, and giddy with the knowledge that Genma wanted him too. But even that was different from this new feeling; this was deeper, and yet at the same time, had those childish, giddy feelings built within it.

So when he opened his mouth to say 'I missed you too', it was understandable when he instead said, "I love you." After a beat, Hayate realized what he had said, out in public where anyone could have overheard, and his cheeks involuntarily turned a shade of pink seldom seen anywhere other than on that one kunoichi's head that Kakashi-senpai had taught.

Feeling his cheeks get even redder at both Genma's words, and the open, honest expression on his face, Hayate looked down, hair falling into his face without his hitai-ate to keep it back.

"It's kind of surreal," he mumbled, peering up again through the fringe of his bangs. "I know I said that I'd rather you weren't stuck in this godawful place, but selfishly...I'm glad you're here. I'd call this a pretty heavenly afterlife, even though this city is far from it." And it was the truth. As a shinobi, death was a part of life, and something Hayate had contemplated many a time, but he had never imagined it to be quite like this. All the bad was outweighed by Genma's presence.

Despite the fact that he wasn't holding back his words, his feelings, Hayate was still painfully conscious of all the people around in the overcrowded square. He had always been a very private person, and it was a bit trying to be talking of such personal things in such a public place. "Um, maybe it would be best if we went somewhere...else? Somewhere without a million listening ears?"
