Log;

Something about the day felt wrong and right at the same time to Elizabeth, as she made her way to Jack's quarters on the Black Swann. She was nervous, to a degree she never felt around Jack, and she'd realized something (or allowed herself to realize something) at her computer that was frightening and big. Elizabeth was glad to be seeing Jack in person, as she always was, but she was scared that without the distance and cold unfamiliarity of machinery between them, she might do something she'd later regret.

Still, she expected Will to be included in this, so it couldn't be that bad, could it? This... whatever they were about to do. Talk. Arriving at Jack's quarters, Elizabeth knocked at his doorframe and peeked her head in. "Jack...?"

When Elizabeth opened the door, she would find Jack leaning against his desk and pouring three glasses full of wine. There was rum stored in several places aboard the ship, but Jack kept the red wine in his quarters. It was, as many other things in the quarters, for business more than pleasure. This, however, qualified as a special occasion... Perhaps because he felt sure to confess things that made him as devoid of morals as Elizabeth believed?

"Elizabeth! Will! Come..come. I know neither of you take to rum so much as I tend, so I thought a different spirit might better fit the toast, eh?"

Will was a meer step behind Elizabeth, holding the door for her to preceed him.
He didn't care much for the 'computer' and the cold text on a screen when compared with actually looking someone in the eye when speaking to them, or to be able to touch Elizabeth casually in conversation.

Now, though...now he was nervously uncomfortable because the usual want to be in some kind of physical contact with her was stronger, which must be why it was spilling over to include Jack as well....

(..... or so he told himself...)

"I do hope so."
Jack set the bottle down and held the glasses up for Will and Elizabeth to take. In part, he just wanted an excuse to draw them closer. Of course, in part, he wished the liquor were much stronger. That always seemed to help when Jack's wants or advances were not immediately welcome.

"Come. I believe we could all do with some distraction from this city and it's horrors."
He smiled to the couple; warmer, wider and more genuine than he typically offered them. Elizabeth has seen his real smile, possibly twice. Once they were alone on an island and he was lost in thoughts of his ship, the second time he was chained to that same ship's mast.

Will was almost relieved when Elizabeth slipped her hand into his, and softly stroked the back of her hand with his thumb in gratitude.

He was mildly surprised by the profferred glass.
Having seen Jack often prefer his liquor straight from the bottle, Will had honestly wondered whether the man possessed glasses at all.

" Thank you." Will said softly, still feeling a touch nervous.
He accepted the glass with his free hand, but kept his eyes on Jack's when by chance thier fingertips touched very briefly in passing.

A few seconds passed without comment from either party, and suddenly remembering himself he looked away. Hastily taking a fortifying drink, he prayed silently that the heat under his collar was just a result of the wine.

Jack noticed the brief contact with Will's hand as well, and smiled slyly as he moved his thumb over the spot.

"Let us toast, then: To a happy union, to finding our freedom, and to the strength of the heart...may it always have what it desires."
He held his glass high and his eyes moved slow between the two guests in his quarters. Surely, this is a better thing than splitting them apart. Surely.

Will nodded, and took a smaller drink to honor the toast.

" Sometimes I can't help but wonder if the goal of this place is to drive people mad.
It seems to be the only possible outcome from all of these damnable curses."

Attempts to keep his eyes off of Jack were failing miserably, despite what should have been the helpful presence of Elizabeth.
Will wasn't usually one to indulge in spirits, but just now it was much easier to say little and focus on the drink in his hand than be caught staring agian.

((OOC: sorry! my power went out last night >.< ))

"Yes, 'second chances'." Jack smiles slyly and clicks his glass against Elizabeth's and then Will's before drinking. He has certainly had a number of opportunities which he has not exploited to their fullest. He intends to make up for those failings now.

"The times come, I think, for honesty. I -honestly- fancy Elizabeth a great deal.." He looks at the girl and grins, mouthing the words 'I do' with a slight nod. Jack then raises a hand to prevent interruption and turns his attention to Will. "Though I would ne'er dream of taking her from you, William. As I've said, you're a good man and do deserve her." His dark eyes slide over Will. "As good a man as anyone could want. I like you, Will. Always have. Truly."

The pirate drinks down what remains of his wine, never much good with the sipping liquors, and leans back on his desk.
"So, confessions aside. Shall we draw swords and have a battle for the lady's honour, or ...perhaps...can we come to some manner of agreement. This place is not our home nor does it fall under the same laws or moral standards. Savvy?"
Oddly, this may not be the most brazen or lewd proposal Jack has ever made.

Will's initial reaction had been to interrupt, but Jack had always been better at talking his way into or out of things than he was...and when Jack did stop Will was at a bit of a loss as to how to respond.

Somehow, vaguely, he thought this was strange to even consider...but nevertheless he did choose his words carefully before answering.

" I...I don't know what sort of agreement you have in mind, but I don't want to fight with you, Jack. I never have."
That was true enough. An excellent swordsman he was, but he was still had a few things to learn about sowrdplay that had nothing to do with established rules of engagement.

Will looked to Elizabeth, with an expression that clearly read 'it's your choice'.... In the end this was all up to her.

She was his wife, but always her own person.
