But there were more important matters at hand, and he pushed the unornate wood doors aside. Proceeding down the hall, the water swordsman noted how contrary the inside's atmosphere was compared to the outside. The darkness did not bother him since he'd been in darker places, like his room. Narrowing his eyes upon a stark desk light, Mikagami straightened himself before taking a seat.
Expression serious, he decided to cut straight to the chase. "So what do you have in mind?"
no subject
"Tell me about yourself. Background, where you got your skills, resume, references, that sort of thing."

"Full name is Tokiya Mikagami. Age 17. I've lived in Japan most of my life, but have gone to England on scholarships. I was orphaned at the age of 7; my family was murdered by someone 'close' to us. They were after the madougu Ensui, which is a family heirloom. I'm the last in line to receive the weapon. Meguri Kyouza was my master; he taught me all he knew about Hyoumon Ken Ryu, which is the technique I use. About Ensui, it allows me to control water in all states: gas, liquid, and solid. I believe I have stated that in my job application." He turned his face slightly to regard his probably future emplyer. "Anything else you would like to know?"

Since he wasn't allowed to ask questions, Mikagami scanned what was visible in the room, searching for some source of water. Turning to the side, he found what he was looking for sitting close to the edge of the work desk. That quarter-empty glass would do since he was only demonstrating. He dipped Ensui over the cup, drawing it upwards vertically. As he did, the water crawled up and onto the hilt, molding into a sword-length icicle. Smoothly, Mikagami flicked it to the side while Ensui completed its solidification. Stepping away from the desk and parallel to Greed, Mikagami spun on his heel and plunged the sword into the floor in front of him. Outstretching his palms over the sword, mist began to accumulate around the sword wielder. "Mizu Kugutsu, or Water Puppet. This is mostly a defensive attack."
Soon, the room was dense with fog. Where Mikagami stood was a looming shadow. It moved closer to Greed, taking the form of the long-haired man. "Usually this duplicate distracts the opponent allowing me to surprise him when he's not looking," Mikagami said as he appeared behind the Sin.

He clapped his hands twice and lights kicked on throughout the area. He retrieved some sake from under the desk and poured a glass for the both of them.
"Sweet. I wasn't 100% certain those lights were installed right," he said, sliding Mikagami a glass, "Well, you seem pretty on the level. Nice ability, too. Sorry for the attitude earlier, just a low level test of your nerves. You obviously know how to stay focused."
He quickly sat back down and kicked his feet up on the desk, leaning back lazily.
"So Mik, what do you want to know about my business? Or something about me, perhaps?"
no subject
"I'll get to know you as time passes," he said calmly. "I wish to be told more about the job." He wouldn't mention pay just yet, and Mikagami wasn't a very ambitious person in finances.

"Everybody needs something, my friend. EVERYBODY. The problem is this, a place like this one has many things that people could want, but not always in an accessable manner."
He stopped for a swig of sake and continues, gesturing wildly with his hands.
"What if something is in a dangerous area? What if someone needs something from the underground? What if someone needs fresh fish from the ocean? What if they need a plant that only grows in a particular area? What if it already belongs to someone? Well that's where my company would come in. I'd take the call, consult whoever I think is useful for the job, and we'd retrieve it! Then we'd be payed a modest sum and move to the next case."
He stopped with his hands out and a smile on, like it was the most brilliant plan in the world.

"So..." he raised a brow. "We'd be a retrievals agency? That condones stealing? Hmm..."
Mikagami might not have been the nicest of persons, but he had his morals. He'd put up with putting himself in dangerous, life-risking situations--as he's done several times before--but stealing is where he drew the line.
"--unless... we're recapturing something that was already stolen."
There was always a way to rationalize.

Of the few personal morals Greed had, hurting girls and telling lies were things he could never condone...That did NOT, however, mean he had to tell the whole truth. He could always just not take Mikagami on jobs where they were taking something from another party, after all.
"By the way, you sure there's nothin' I can get you?"

Frankly, even if he was full, Mikagami would not accept the edible offerings of someone he just met. However credible and authorative he might have seemed, Greed held this capricious air around him. For now, he would just keep his guard up until he learned more about him personally.
Mikagami gave a final look around, thinking that since business was done and that he was pretty much hired, he should get going. Nana was...unwell at the moment, and as her roommate, he should be home to look after her. "Well," he slipped Ensui back into his pocket. "I should be going now. Is there anything else you'd like to tell me--oh, wait, how many other people have been hired so far?"

And with that, Mikagami went on his way.
