He had spent a long time just sitting on the carousel, watching it spin and spin and s p i n - watching the sky darken and brighten and darken again. The city was a pretty place, a pretty place, just like how Konzen was pretty too. Thoughts had strayed from the city that lay in front of him to Konzen, to the flowers he was supposed to give to Konzen - and there was panic that he had lost them - but he had quickly forgotten it; the city taking priority inside his head.

But he found himself soon tired, excitement wearing him out fast and the gold-eyed child clung onto the carousel as it spun, and closed his eyes.

Hand dropping to his ever-present gun at the sound of footsteps, Sanzo squinted as he watched a figure approach in a hurried rush - only to realize that it was the monkey he'd been watching.

...except with longer hair. And softer facial features.

And had the monkey shrunk an inch since he'd last seen him? (He was already short enough, really. Before long, he was going to need his reading glasses to find him the next time they parted.) One thing was sure, though -- at least the idiot's voice hadn't changed, even if he was calling the wrong name.

Arms folding across his chest, the monk gave a small snort. "Why would I be? You're not looking much like yourself, either, idiot."

The child glanced around the area, wondering if this was some trick somebody was trying to play on him - there were those guys who had said bad things about Konzen, after all, and though he had with Tenpou and Kenren's help, 'taught' them a lesson, one never knew...

Biting his lip, Goku glanced up again - at the hair, the eyes... Hesitantly, he asked, "Ne, you... didn't cut your hair, did you?" If Konzen did it to spite him, well, it was working - but why? Why would Konzen do that?

"Eh?" he asked, eyes narrowing. Just what did this Not-Konzen mean? He hadn't changed - had he? Lifting his arms, he placed them on his hips and stared at the strange Not-Konzen person.
