Summary; It's Buffy's birthday! And Dawn has a day full of surprises planned for her.
Log;
It's Buffy's birthday so Dawn has taken the day off from work. She told Buffy to do the same without giving her any idea as to what the plan was or where they were going. But they're currently walking through the City together, Buffy more following Dawn's lead than anything. But that doesn't mean Buffy hasn't tried to figure out what they're doing.
“Don't you know what the definition of a surprise is? It's something you don't know that you'll eventually find out and be all wow about cause you had no clue what was going to happen. This whole day would be a surprise.” No, she doesn't expect that to sate Buffy's curiosity. She knows her sister is always nervous about her birthday, which is why she decided to keep it a bit more low key this year than last year. You can't have a surprise party every year or the surprise party is just expected, which is not the definition of the word surprise.

"This year, they're totally gonna be mixy. You'll see. Instead of oil and water they'll be like... milk and hershey's chocolate syrup. Or strawberry syrup cause that one's good too. Or maybe root beer and vanilla ice cream." Her nose wrinkles just a bit. "Now I'm hungry... or thirsty for super sweet tasting things."
She checks around the area, trying to remember where the place is since she's only been there once. "Just another block, I think."
no subject
"Mmmmm rootbeer and vanilla ice cream. We should have some of that today."
She's still a bit wary but growing slightly more comfortable as they walk along.
"Not telling me what we're looking for yet?"
no subject
"Okay, so are you ready? Tell me I'm the awesomest sister ever and I'll give you the first thing on the list for your birthday today." She cups a hand around her ear, the symbol for I'm listening and waiting not so patiently.
no subject
"Okay, fine. You're the awesomest--Giles is cringing you know--sister ever."

"Omigosh." Buffy's just going to squeal a bit and throw her arms around Dawn in a hug.
no subject
"Happy? Am I awesome or am I awesome? And when I say awesome I mean super duper the best ever awesome."
no subject
Buffy loops her arm through Dawn's and heads inside the store.
"I'm not having a fat day, right? I wouldn't want to get new clothes on a bloaty sort of day."
no subject
She's idly browsing the racks and shelves as they walk by them.
no subject
She's browsing the racks as well, stops to pull out a dress and hold it up to her. "What do you think? Is it a me thing?"
no subject
"I like it. That color always looks good on you. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that might be my favorite color on you. You always look good in the pale colors. You should try that on and get it fitted.

It's one of those flowy, girly dresses that Buffy likes to wear when she's not patrolling. Sometimes even when she is patrolling but that's more of an unplanned patrol kind of thing which she does a lot less of here in the City.

"Okay, try on one at a time and I'm gonna be out here waiting. You have to come out and model them in the full three way mirror outside so you can see how awesome you look." She starts out of the dressing room. "And if you need a different size, let me know!"
no subject
She takes a moment getting undressed and putting on the lavender dress before she steps out, twirls and then walks over to the three way mirror, head tilted a bit. "What do you think? Is it a no-slay Buffy dress?"
no subject
She waits as Buffy changes, idly checking over the racks of clothes nearest to the dressing room. When Buffy comes out, Dawn smiles at the sight of her in the dress. Her sister really is pretty. "I think it's super pretty and hot. Good for a date with Pyro or Dom or Jericho or whoever you're dating now. You have nice shoulders, you should show them off more."
no subject
And then there's the compliments, which Buffy likes. She does the twirly thing, turning around to gape a little at Dawn. "I am not dating...I don't think I'm dating anyone. I have friends and I'm not even entirely sure Jericho is my friend."
But then placating because yes, she does have nice shoulders. "They're one of my best features but you can't just go around in strapless shirts all the time."
no subject
She wrinkles her nose at the memory and looks back to Buffy in the dress. "Especially not in Winter. So do you think it needs to be taken in just a little at the waist or is it good with the breathing room and all?"
no subject
Buffy is doing her best to block their interruption out of her brain as well. "Girl. Just one girl. I found out it sort of wasn't my thing."
She does some stretching and lifting her arms. "I think it's good. Even the length is good."
no subject
She watches Buffy move in the dress and then comes over to study the dress closer. This shop really does have the best clothing, well-made and fashionable and all.
She leans in at Buffy's chest. "That fits great, it's definitely a keeper. But I wonder how they would fit that for people who actually have a chest. Go try on something else."
no subject
Almost offended but hey she gets to wear pretty dresses. Rising above it. "It wouldn't fit right. It's a petite chest thing."
no subject
This is where she puts her hands on her hips in her 'don't mess with bb!Summers' pose. She gives Buffy a pointed look with an arched brow, waiting for her sister to try to argue that it isn't true when she knows it is. "I'm right and you know it.
Then she shoos her toward the dressing room. "Okay, birthday girl, try on something else that makes you look date-worthy." Because she's pretty sure that everything she scooped up from the racks on their way over here is going to look fantastic on her sister.
no subject
Buffy rolls her eyes. Clearly Dawn is having none of this truth as Buffy knows it.
"Fiiiiiine. I'll go look date worthy but only because you're buying."
She disappears into the dressing room to try something else on, confident conversation will continue with the curtain between them.

And she comes out in one of the other dresses. "You're that deluded about my love life."
And twirling. Yes, she does believe Dawn is very deluded about her love life.

When Buffy comes out of the dressing room, Dawn moves closer again. A smile spreads over her lips as she sees Buffy twirl and the fullness of the skirt that is still pretty full even when she isn't twirling. "I love the skirt on this one. It's totally in fashion, I think. Plus the color. Everyone needs a little black dress or two... or three."
She stands behind Buffy so that her sister can see herself in the mirror. "What do you think? Do you like that the skirt is so full? I don't think you've ever worn a dress like that before, I mean with a skirt like that."
