Log;

Jack muttered under his breath as he moved about the kitchen, "Where the hell-" He swore softly as he dropped the pan he had just picked up, a loud bang echoeing throughout the appartment. Daniel was out at the the library, again and Vala was, hopefully, still passed out in her room, so Jack wasn't too worried that he woke anyone.

Jack set the pan on the stove and turned the element on. He placed some butter in the centre and began rummaging in the fridge while the pan heat up and melted the butter. Jack stood up and placed some eggs and vegetables on the counter and shut the fridge closed with his foot. He washed the vegetables before pulling out a cutting board and knife.

He glanced over at the stove before he began cutting the tomatoes he had pulled out from the fridge and saw that the pan was ready. He cracked a few eggs onto the metal and let them cook. He turned back to the tomatoes and began cutting.

"Yeah, well," She let the sentence hang. After all, what kind of excuse could be given? One tended to pick up habits when associating with certain people enough. Still, she tilted her head slightly as Jack seemed to wander off into his own world a moment. It was followed by an eyebrow lift as he, helpfully, pointed out the obvious to her. Instead of deigning him with a verbal response, though, she crinkled her nose at him and pointedly took a bite of her eggs.

And was immediately surprised. For all of the banging and crashing, he hadn'i butchered the meal he was preparing. Not that she could point fingers really-- cooking was not her forté. Ever. Just eating the cooking was. She hummed with approval and dug into her meal with relish, finishing it off surprisingly quickly. Apparently sleeping in gave one an appetite.

Once finished, she lifted the platter and licked it clean, smacking her lips and grinning. "The only thing missing is jam," She decided aloud, more awake now. Deciding to be nice (what better way to wake up than to a decent breakfast?), she stood from the table and moved to Jack's side again, sliding her dishes into the sink.

"Urk, I'm no housewife," She replied, though took the dish towel anyway. She didn't really mind the menial things like this. It was all she had done when married to Tomin in the Orii galaxy, after all. She was rather proficient at cleaning (something she never bothered with before), and sewing, after that whole ordeal. The cooking... well, she had attempted it, but for the most part the meals had been rather simple. She had ended up burning nearly everything in the beginning. In the end, she could pull together something decent-- though there was no way she could have made just a simple egg as delicious as Jack had just done.

Baking, though. Now that was fun. Although, there, too, she had difficulty with overbaking or underbaking what she was trying to make.

She hummed as she plucked the dishes from the drying board, opening the cupboard doors wide and leaving them that way as she slotted the cutlery and such into their proper places. After a few moments of this, she set her hip against the counter as she dried one of the pans. "So, General, do you bake as well?"

"Jack, then," She agreed, setting the now dry pan away before turning with a flourish to pick up the next in line. "I like baking, too. Although I only just leaned how to do it," Vala confessed, flashing a smile that was too cheeky for the words she was saying. With a small flip of her hair, she set the bowl she had been drying away before turning to pick up more cutlery.

"I find it... theraputic," The pirate went on after a moment, remembering how she had taken to beating the dough more than once when her frustrations got the best of her in the Orii galaxy.

She hummed as she dried the pan, ducking down to place it in a lower cupboard while he spoke. She grinned when she finished, standing up quickly and whirling around with a toss of black curls.

"Well, since you seem to be in such a rotten mood, and we've both agreed on the benefits of baking--- I propose we do just that." She decided, plucking a wet dish from his hand to finish off.
