Summary; Greed has a day at the beach with Motoko.

Greed arrived a few moments ahead of Motoko, having cleared a path free of animals and other beasts. He stepped onto the beach dressed in teh loudest, more gaudy pair of swim trunks that mankind had ever devised, and his favorite sunglasses. He set down a few blankets and staked out a parasol, then placed the cooler under it. Unfortunately, the recent slug incident has left the beach largely unihabited, so there'd be no other women to ogle.

"Yo, Motoko! You comin'?"

He put his hands and his hips, waiting for his date.

"Of course!" Motoko walked out of the forest to the beach. She was still a little tired from the events of the previous days, and the beach trip was a welcomed break. She slipped out of her training outfit, and as usual was wearing her school swimsuit. It was a beautiful day, she was almost sad that she wasn't spending it training, though she had a wooden blade with her just in case she got the chance. With Greed there, she knew she probably wouldn't.

As she looked down the beach, she found it was mostly bare. She was happy to find it that way, as she was still a bit embarrassed to be out on anything that could be considered a date.

Greed walked up and embraced her, jumping up and down.

"Didn't I tell you it was a great spot? Didn't I?"

She got a bit rigid at first she he touched her, but slowly allowed herself to loosen up in his embrace. "It's gorgeous. So, what would you like to do first?" She looked into his eyes and smiled.

"Let's hit that water!" he said, running toward the shore. He kicked up large gouts of sand in his wake, leaving a trail of small dunes.

"Come on!"

She couldn't help but laught as she slowly set off towards the water as well. She slowly waded in, the cold water chilling her a bit. It was the middle of December after all. She shivered a little as she got used to the temperature. After all, she was used to soaking in the hot springs all the time.

Greed was distracted for a moment by her shivering, staring at her intensely.

"Uh...the water's a bit...nipply...Uh, I mean nippy! NIPPY! The water is cold!"

Smart, Greed. Very smart.

Completely oblivious, Motoko rubbed her bare arms and replied, "just a bit. But we shouldn't waste this chance to have the beach to ourselves!" With that she dove forward into the water, emerging a couple yards ahead completely soaked. She turned back and smiled, making sure he knew she was glad they had come.

He dove deep and pushed off along the bottom, coming up behind her.

"Boo! Gotcha'!"

He brought his arm up and across the water's surface, sending a large splash of water at her.

She laughed and splashed water back at him, the action coming to naturally that it surprised her that she could interact in that way. She laid back in the water, floating on the surface, body rocking as the waves moved towards the shore.

With a kick of his legs, Greed propelled himself downward, disappearing from sight. His eyes scanned the cool, clear waters, searching for anything of interest. He soon found a giant clam shell, which he levered up from the seabed.

"Hey Motoko-chan!" he yelled, coming up in the water next to her, "Check this shit out!"

He held the massive clam over his head.

"What kinda' clam bake could somebody make with this?"

Motoko stood in the water again, surprised with Greed's discovery. "That is rather...large. Maybe you should take it back for the ball that's being planned." She took his arm, careful not to knock the clam down, and headed back for the shore. "Shall we try to warm up a bit?"

He followed her to the shore and put the giant mollusc down beside a blanket.

"I don't think it'll fit the cooler. Maybe I should place it back down in the water until we go."

He toweled himself off and sat cross-legged on one of the other blankets.

"What did you have in mind?"

Motoko wrapped herself up in a towel, sat down next to Greed, and leaned against his shoulder, wrapping her arms around his. "Just soaking in the sun for a while..."

"O-o-oh, well then!" he stuttered out, "That sounds like a great idea!'

He hastily worked to recover his senses and put an arm around her, drawing her closer and reclining back with her.

"This beach is pretty nice. It was good of the gods to design something that doesn't have things trying to kill you everywhere."

Motoko lifted her head and laid it down against on Greed's chest, staring out at the ocean. "It's rather out of character of them..." She closed her eyes and smiled. Sometimes Greed could be such a gentleman, but some of the things he said threw her off. Deciding to just enjoy the day and not worry about it, she looked back up at him and smiled, blushing slightly. She placed one hand across his chest, and the other began ruffling through his hair.

An uncontrollable purring rolled through him as she ruffled the spiky crop of hair on his head. Why did they always seem to know that was his sweet spot?

"Whoa now, Motoko. Keep that up and I might have to take some action. I have to resist the urge to kiss you as it is. I've been makin' sure I didn't make you too uncomfortable."

"Thank you..." This was a surprise for Motoko indeed. Her face went flush red. Before she realized what she was doing, she had rolled partly on top of him, her face hovering above his, smiling. "But you don't have to do that for me."

He grinned at her in an almost boyish manner and cupped the side of her face with his left hand. He leaned his head up and pressed his lips to hers, running the hand up through her short, silky hair.

"Mmmm..." he said, breaking the kiss, "...You're beautiful, Motoko."

His other hand traveled down to her lower back, pulling her body tightly against his.

Whatever Greed did to charm her worked, as she was helpless to resist even if she wanted to. She put her arms around the back of his neck and slowly pulled herself back in to resume the kiss.

Greed slowly sat up with her, pulling her into his lap while he gently traced her lips with his tongue. He hooked two fingers into the top of her uniform and began to peel it from her upper torso, sliding the fabric down between her chest and his.

"Are you sure you want this?" he asked, making certain to her his intentions, "Once we do this, it can't be undone."

Even as he warned her of what they'd be doing, his lips were already working their way down her slender neck.

"I..." She pulled away for a second, then turned, pulling the uniform back up to cover herself. "I can't...I'm sorry..." She brushed her free hand against his cheek. "I can't go any farther than this." She leaned back in and pressed her lips against his. She wanted to make sure that he know she was happy just where they were.

"Heh," he shrugged casually, "No problem."

He returned her kiss eagerly, still somewhat satisfied with this.

"My fault for gettin' too overexcited, I guess."

She pulled away for a minute. "It's not your fault at all! It's just...I'm trying to find somebody to spend the rest of my life with, while the lifestyle you've chosen gives you more freedom. What we have right now...is fine." She managed a smile and leaned back in close, trying to enjoy the moment.

"It's no big deal," he said, putting his arms around her, "I'm totally cool with that."

He lay back down with her, stroking her hair and placing a kiss on her forehead.

"Don't worry."

"I'm glad..." Motoko laid her head against Greed's chest again, feeling comforted in his arms, glad that he wasn't going to push her. The waves crashing against the ocean soothed her as she regained her composure, and she nearly fell asleep in his arms.

He waved a hand in front of her face, making sure she was still with him.

"Yo, you thirsty? I have some good drinks."

"Mm, sure." She rolled off of him and onto the towel, staring up into the sky. "What did you bring?"

He dragged the large cooler over to the foot of the blanket.

"Wine coolers, fruit juices, some sodas, and bottled water."

He glanced back over his shoulder, his hand inside the cooler.

"Just a water is fine, thank you." She rolled over onto her stomach and rested her head on her hands, watching Greed. Unconcsiously she began to swing her legs in the air.

He fetched himself a wine cooler and tossed her the water bottle, then rejoined her on the blanket, laying down beside her.

"So, how have ya' been lately?"

"I've been...fine. The only thing really troubling me is home. I really want to see somebody from my old world again. Anybody really." She opened the water and took a long drink. "And how have you been doing?"

"Eh," he shrugged, taking a sip of his wine, "Kickin' up the dust, truckin' along, and gettin' what I can, when I can."

Motoko slid into Greed's arm, leaning against him again. She turned and said, "Greed...thank you...for everything." She leaned over and kissed him on the cheek.

"Eh, no problem. Whaddaya' say we just relax here for awhile?"

"That sounds perfect." She leaned back against his shoulder and grabbed his hand, smiling.
