Log; Ongoing

When; Sunday, October the 10th
Rating;Pretty sure it’ll stay around PG, but with this crowd, who knows?
Characters; EVERYONE
Summary; Glinda decides that what the City needs is a good end-of-the-year gala.
Log;

It was almost 8 o'clock and everything had been set up.

Rangiku and Hotaru had strung up red, white, and silver streamers everywhere and several buffet tables were scattered throughout the area. Someone had suggested the hanging of mistletoe. Glinda didn’t know what its purpose was, but it was so pretty, so she had Rangiku add a few sprigs here and there.

Glinda had already briefed those who had volunteered to act as security. They were to enjoy the party, of course, but if they saw anyone causing trouble, it was up to them to handle it. The fireworks team had brought a lot of pyrotechnics. Glinda prayed they knew what they were doing. And Tayuya was off to the side, warming up.

Glinda had been shocked to see the young girl show up at all, let alone in a dress. As she had promised Glinda, the dress wasn't at all obscene. Glinda smoothed a non-existent wrinkle from her own dress and put a hand to her heart. She was nervous, but tried to reassure herself that everything would be perfect.

She checked the time. 8 o'clock. Time for everyone to arrive...

After the fireworks and before the final dance, Glinda stands on a platform at the front of the crowd. Using a holographic projector set up by Cobray, she makes an announcement to the crowd...

Fellow Citizens... I wanted to thank you all for being here. This has been one of the best nights of my life, and I hope each of you can say the same. It was a lot of work to plan this, but I can't take all the credit. This place is so beautiful thanks to Rangiku and Hotaru. Thank you to Sanji and everyone else who worked so hard on the buffet. I'm sure everyone agrees it was all delicious! To my security team, you did wonderfully. Everything went off without a hitch, thanks to you. Shizune, the gift exchange was wonderfully done. Tayuya, the music was beautiful, and so are you. It warms my heart to see you dressed like a lady. And it's nice to see you use that flute for something other than making threats. Thanks also to the pyrotechnics team. I'm glad you knew what you were doing. If I forgot anyone, I'm sorry. But know I'm grateful for all you've done!

Well, the hour is late, and we only have time for one last dance. But though this is the end of the night, don’t think this is the end of the holiday festivities. Motoko and I have a concert in the works for later this month. Anyone who would like to audition should see Motoko or myself to sign up. Tayuya, if you will...

{ooc: Log is open, everyone GO!~ I hope you all fun. My thanks go out to Shizune-mun for coming up with the gift exchange, as well as setting it up. ♥ to you!

A note; Glinda's announcement comes just after the fireworks and just before the final dance... so sometime after midnight. Reference to it whenever you want. Thanks to Cobray-mun for that idea. Also, it is not necessary to interact in this thread. Start your own in your journals, just like with the snowball fight if you’d like. Also, it is also not necessary to interact with Glinda if you don’t want to. However, if you do want to, this is the best place, as I won’t be starting my own thread in her journal.

I can't guarantee I'll be home all day. Today is the school band concert and I promised a friend I’d go. But, if anyone needs me, my AIM is christinemasque and my email is phantom.masque98@gmail.com . I believe I might be able to answer email through my cell phone, so if it's urgent, that's the best way to reach me. But, I don't think any problems should arise. *crosses fingers* See you all at the party!~

Oh, and there will be more info on the aforementioned concert later in Poly-Extra}

Gift given and received, Syaoran ventured back toward the entrance to meet with Sakura in the crowds of the party, promising to go with her to this party. Although what he wore was just a simple suit (http://www.tsubasaholic.com/img.php?image=gallery/tsubasa/trc_colored/010.jpg&pagetitle=TSUBASA%20RESERVoir%20CHRoNiCLE%20Colored%20Manga%20Scans%20Gallery&description=Syaoran%20Sakura) and tie, he'd done his best to match with her own dress. Still, this would be the first time they would attend something like this without Fai or Kurogane.

If he felt nervous, he tried not to show it, but he did worry. There were things, situations, he needed to avoid. He just hoped her highness would enjoy herself tonight along with his company.

She slipped over to his side after making sure her cake was fine, nervously dodging some of the men gathered around before flashing a smile at Syaoran. "You look really nice, Syaoran-kun!"

It was good to be getting out and enjoying herself, especially with him, although she couldn't help but miss the company of the two older men she'd become accustomed too over time. But they'd insisted they go ahead and have fun, and so she would.

His heart pounded in his chest. Sakura hadn't made it any easier for him to ease into this new environment, but he was trying his hardest. As a soft blush crept to his face, Syaoran smiled warmly in response to her compliment.

"Thank you." His smile was soft as he straightened his stance beside her, ready to venture into the crowd at her side. Syaoran would make sure her smile stayed throughout the night. "Are you hungry?"

[identity profile] wingedlight.livejournal.com 2006-12-10 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Thinking about it, making cake all day had left her hungry, so she nodded in agreement, offering a "yes, a little bit," sweetly before glancing in the direction of the buffet tables.

"Are you?" She didn't want to make him go with her if he wasn't, after all.

[identity profile] pursuing.livejournal.com 2006-12-10 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"Everything smells delicious, so I'd like to try some." Not wanting to stop her from eating if she was hungry, he nodded back and cautiously offered his arm out for her so that he could lead them both to the buffet table.

[identity profile] wingedlight.livejournal.com 2006-12-11 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
Sakura took the offered arm with a smile, glad he didn't mind at all. "Everyone worked really hard. I'm glad it all came together in time."

[identity profile] pursuing.livejournal.com 2006-12-11 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes." His smile grew softer as he thought back to earlier today. Sakura had been in the kitchen, cooking her share of the party's food. She worked hard and he was happy for that. In that way she hadn't changed.

Syaoran picked up two plates then turned towards the princess, planning to get her food for her. The last thing he would want was to have her spill food on her clothes. "What would you like, Sakura-hime?"

[identity profile] wingedlight.livejournal.com 2006-12-11 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
"Ah, you don't have to!" She reached to take the plate back but catching sight of his smile she thought better of it and dropped her hand in defeat.

With a small smile all her own she pointed out the salad instead. "Are you enjoying yourself so far, Syaoran-kun?"

[identity profile] pursuing.livejournal.com 2006-12-11 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
Music played softly in the background, easing him slowly into the setting and he could easily nod with a smile. "I am."

Syaoran gathered the salad onto her plate as long as a few things for himself and he'd continue to do so as they traveled down the buffet line. "Is her highness enjoying herself as well?"

[identity profile] wingedlight.livejournal.com 2006-12-11 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
She pouted at his formality as she followed him, gently reminding him, "it's Sakura! But yes, I am. I think everything turned out wonderfully."

[identity profile] pursuing.livejournal.com 2006-12-11 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
It had slipped out again, hadn't it? After bowing his head as he gave his apologies, Syaoran corrected himself though they probably both knew it would happen again.

As he started to lead them to an empty table, he set their plates upon it before moving toward the princess to pull out her chair for her. "Here."

[identity profile] wingedlight.livejournal.com 2006-12-11 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, he was always so thoughtful. Sakura smiled warmly as she slipped into the chair, thnaking him as she got comfortable.

"It's a shame Fai-san and Kurogane-san couldn't come."

[identity profile] pursuing.livejournal.com 2006-12-11 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
Her smile was always something welcomed and he found himself enjoying the festivities even moreso.

"Yes.." As he took his seat across from her, he glanced down to his food with a weakened smile before lifting his chin to meet her gaze. "But I'm sure they've found a way to keep busy."

[identity profile] wingedlight.livejournal.com 2006-12-11 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
"I hope so. Fai-san seemed happy, though, so I'm sure they did manage something." She tucked into her own plate daintily, cheerfully glancing about from time to time. The place did look good!

[identity profile] pursuing.livejournal.com 2006-12-11 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
He'd glance up inbetween bites to carry on conversation, only stealing a few glances at the few dancers in the middle of the hall. "Did Fai-san say why he wasn't coming?"

[identity profile] wingedlight.livejournal.com 2006-12-11 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't think so." She frowned slightly, thinking about it. It was odd that Fai would turn down a party, after all.

"But I'm sure it's nothing bad!"
