Log; Ongoing

When; Sunday, October the 10th
Rating;Pretty sure it’ll stay around PG, but with this crowd, who knows?
Characters; EVERYONE
Summary; Glinda decides that what the City needs is a good end-of-the-year gala.
Log;

It was almost 8 o'clock and everything had been set up.

Rangiku and Hotaru had strung up red, white, and silver streamers everywhere and several buffet tables were scattered throughout the area. Someone had suggested the hanging of mistletoe. Glinda didn’t know what its purpose was, but it was so pretty, so she had Rangiku add a few sprigs here and there.

Glinda had already briefed those who had volunteered to act as security. They were to enjoy the party, of course, but if they saw anyone causing trouble, it was up to them to handle it. The fireworks team had brought a lot of pyrotechnics. Glinda prayed they knew what they were doing. And Tayuya was off to the side, warming up.

Glinda had been shocked to see the young girl show up at all, let alone in a dress. As she had promised Glinda, the dress wasn't at all obscene. Glinda smoothed a non-existent wrinkle from her own dress and put a hand to her heart. She was nervous, but tried to reassure herself that everything would be perfect.

She checked the time. 8 o'clock. Time for everyone to arrive...

After the fireworks and before the final dance, Glinda stands on a platform at the front of the crowd. Using a holographic projector set up by Cobray, she makes an announcement to the crowd...

Fellow Citizens... I wanted to thank you all for being here. This has been one of the best nights of my life, and I hope each of you can say the same. It was a lot of work to plan this, but I can't take all the credit. This place is so beautiful thanks to Rangiku and Hotaru. Thank you to Sanji and everyone else who worked so hard on the buffet. I'm sure everyone agrees it was all delicious! To my security team, you did wonderfully. Everything went off without a hitch, thanks to you. Shizune, the gift exchange was wonderfully done. Tayuya, the music was beautiful, and so are you. It warms my heart to see you dressed like a lady. And it's nice to see you use that flute for something other than making threats. Thanks also to the pyrotechnics team. I'm glad you knew what you were doing. If I forgot anyone, I'm sorry. But know I'm grateful for all you've done!

Well, the hour is late, and we only have time for one last dance. But though this is the end of the night, don’t think this is the end of the holiday festivities. Motoko and I have a concert in the works for later this month. Anyone who would like to audition should see Motoko or myself to sign up. Tayuya, if you will...

{ooc: Log is open, everyone GO!~ I hope you all fun. My thanks go out to Shizune-mun for coming up with the gift exchange, as well as setting it up. ♥ to you!

A note; Glinda's announcement comes just after the fireworks and just before the final dance... so sometime after midnight. Reference to it whenever you want. Thanks to Cobray-mun for that idea. Also, it is not necessary to interact in this thread. Start your own in your journals, just like with the snowball fight if you’d like. Also, it is also not necessary to interact with Glinda if you don’t want to. However, if you do want to, this is the best place, as I won’t be starting my own thread in her journal.

I can't guarantee I'll be home all day. Today is the school band concert and I promised a friend I’d go. But, if anyone needs me, my AIM is christinemasque and my email is phantom.masque98@gmail.com . I believe I might be able to answer email through my cell phone, so if it's urgent, that's the best way to reach me. But, I don't think any problems should arise. *crosses fingers* See you all at the party!~

Oh, and there will be more info on the aforementioned concert later in Poly-Extra}

So, as fate would have it...

Though sneaking up from behind Hinamori was out of the question due to his reiatsu, Grimmjow made it a point to approach from the back, leaning towards her ear just slightly.

"Boo." The grin never left his face.

She'd been about to respond to Rangiku, offer her company on a shopping trip or something like it but the spike in reiatsu got her attention before her mouth could move and she instinctively moved closer to the other vice captain, turning to glare ever so slightly at the Espada.

"What?"

[identity profile] 6thsword.livejournal.com 2006-12-11 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
"Just wanted to say hello to my favorite peach," he replied, shrugging nonchalantly. "Am I not allowed or something'?"

He directed this question somewhat at Rangiku, for though she'd expressly said before that she didn't care if he fraternized with Hinamori, she still acted like the fiercely protective elder sister. And for good reason, of course; here was the enemy in their previously untouched bubble of safety.

A civil hello was all she would offer him, moving closer to Momo unconsciously. Her hand, though empty, moved to where Haineko would normally rest, the fingers clenching when they didn't end up resing on that familiar shape.

It didn't matter... Haineko was a word away.

"Evening."

"Evenin' to you too," the arrancar replied with just a bit of sarcasm to his tone. "Seems like you're holdin' up well after your shindig with Aizen-sama."

But he wasn't there to bother Rangiku about her private excursions. No, he was there to take, for a little while, what he claimed as his. And if they wanted a civil gentleman, they would get one, too.

"Now that we've exchanged pleasantries, I hope you won't mind if I steal this doll away from you. Don't worry, I won't take too long." And here he held out his hand for Hinamori to take, and smirked. "You know, shinigami, you should be proud of me for once. I'm being civil about kidnapping."

Hinamori bit back a scathing remark, staring at his hand. What he'd said prior stuck in her mind and while she managed at small glance at her fellow vice captain she found that it was the least of her concerns right now.

There was nothing she could say though, her mind stuck on the fact that Grimmjow was trying to drag her away from the small comfort that she had from being with Rangiku, having company. After all, the last time they'd been alone had been rather awkward, enough to probably last her a month or so.

And so she continued staring at the offered hand, her own tentatively raised to take it.

"As I said earlier, it was none of your business." Her tone was chilly, like the color of her eyes. She turned a look on Momo, silently telling her it was her choice, and no matter the choice, she would back her up.

"...If you'll remain civil, I don't see the harm."

She had her kidou, at any rate. Glancing at Rangiku again, mentally questioning if she really wanted to push the issue of her and Aizen, her hand found it's way into Grimmjows. "But I do have to question how you think a kidnapping can be civil."

[identity profile] 6thsword.livejournal.com 2006-12-11 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
"Of course it isn't," Grimmjow replied to Rangiku's icy tone. Then he turned his attention to Hinamori, and he grinned widely at her question.

"They're not." That said, he bent down and picked her up bridal-style, and as he started for the door he glanced over at the other shinigami to see their expressions. Satisfied that his sudden action had produced the right reactions, he sauntered out one of the temple doors with Hinamori in his arms.

Ran's expression curled into something like one of Haineko's hisses.

Unohana watched, stunned as Hinamori was carried away. "Hinamori-fukutaichou!"

Aizen simply blinked.

And blinked.

And blinked.
