Log; Ongoing
When; Sunday, October the 10th
Rating;Pretty sure it’ll stay around PG, but with this crowd, who knows?
Characters; EVERYONE
Summary; Glinda decides that what the City needs is a good end-of-the-year gala.
Log;
It was almost 8 o'clock and everything had been set up.
Rangiku and Hotaru had strung up red, white, and silver streamers everywhere and several buffet tables were scattered throughout the area. Someone had suggested the hanging of mistletoe. Glinda didn’t know what its purpose was, but it was so pretty, so she had Rangiku add a few sprigs here and there.
Glinda had already briefed those who had volunteered to act as security. They were to enjoy the party, of course, but if they saw anyone causing trouble, it was up to them to handle it. The fireworks team had brought a lot of pyrotechnics. Glinda prayed they knew what they were doing. And Tayuya was off to the side, warming up.
Glinda had been shocked to see the young girl show up at all, let alone in a dress. As she had promised Glinda, the dress wasn't at all obscene. Glinda smoothed a non-existent wrinkle from her own dress and put a hand to her heart. She was nervous, but tried to reassure herself that everything would be perfect.
She checked the time. 8 o'clock. Time for everyone to arrive...
After the fireworks and before the final dance, Glinda stands on a platform at the front of the crowd. Using a holographic projector set up by Cobray, she makes an announcement to the crowd...
Fellow Citizens... I wanted to thank you all for being here. This has been one of the best nights of my life, and I hope each of you can say the same. It was a lot of work to plan this, but I can't take all the credit. This place is so beautiful thanks to Rangiku and Hotaru. Thank you to Sanji and everyone else who worked so hard on the buffet. I'm sure everyone agrees it was all delicious! To my security team, you did wonderfully. Everything went off without a hitch, thanks to you. Shizune, the gift exchange was wonderfully done. Tayuya, the music was beautiful, and so are you. It warms my heart to see you dressed like a lady. And it's nice to see you use that flute for something other than making threats. Thanks also to the pyrotechnics team. I'm glad you knew what you were doing. If I forgot anyone, I'm sorry. But know I'm grateful for all you've done!
Well, the hour is late, and we only have time for one last dance. But though this is the end of the night, don’t think this is the end of the holiday festivities. Motoko and I have a concert in the works for later this month. Anyone who would like to audition should see Motoko or myself to sign up. Tayuya, if you will...
{ooc: Log is open, everyone GO!~ I hope you all fun. My thanks go out to Shizune-mun for coming up with the gift exchange, as well as setting it up. ♥ to you!
A note; Glinda's announcement comes just after the fireworks and just before the final dance... so sometime after midnight. Reference to it whenever you want. Thanks to Cobray-mun for that idea. Also, it is not necessary to interact in this thread. Start your own in your journals, just like with the snowball fight if you’d like. Also, it is also not necessary to interact with Glinda if you don’t want to. However, if you do want to, this is the best place, as I won’t be starting my own thread in her journal.
I can't guarantee I'll be home all day. Today is the school band concert and I promised a friend I’d go. But, if anyone needs me, my AIM is christinemasque and my email is phantom.masque98@gmail.com . I believe I might be able to answer email through my cell phone, so if it's urgent, that's the best way to reach me. But, I don't think any problems should arise. *crosses fingers* See you all at the party!~
Oh, and there will be more info on the aforementioned concert later in Poly-Extra}

This was indeed a strange time. What was the point of it all? "What other traditions?"
no subject
"There is the present one." The shinigami began ticking them off on her fingers. That one had been taken care of, she had already purchased several things, inclusing one for the Arrancar beside her. "One about a certain dinner with certain foods... one about singing... and I think one about making cookies."
no subject
"Are events of this type usual durring the cold season? It seems like quite a bit of work for the simple reason to have a great amount of people dressed up in tacky red things in one room.."
no subject
"I do believe there are an abundance of celebrations this time of year, yes." Unconsciously she smoothed the hem of the small black dress at the mention of fabric color. "It is something about a "spirit", that makes every one to "make merry" and revel together. And I do believe the red color along with green has some sort of religious significance."
no subject
"A spirit? For all that humans base their ceremonies and religions on spirits, they seem to ignore the presance of Arrancar and Shinigami alike on earth."
no subject
"They put aside things for good will for a season before they all return to how they were before. Most sad." Shrugging slightly, she put a hand up to brush her log hair back from her shoulders, wearing it unbraided for once. And a thought occured to her.
"I think we must dance at least once before we leave." She looked about and nodded. The dancing, at least, seemed graceful. Elegant. Refined.
no subject
"Dance?" Ulquiorra glanced at the dance floor before looking back at Nemu. "I suppose that is agreeable." He did not dance often--no, the very thought was laughable--but it was not too difficult, he supposed.
"Well then." Taking her hand, he led her out onto the dance floor. "For research."
no subject
"You are quite good." She noted with a small smile, her other hand resting lightly on his shoulder.
no subject
"You are as well." He said quietly, guiding her about the dance floor, mindful of others. Dancing was something he supposed he could enjoy--it was pointless, but there was a certain dignity to it.
no subject
"Why thank you." She murmured, listening to the soft clicks of her heels and Ulquiorra's shoes, watching the whirl of her dress hem and his tuxedo tails. It was graceful, and she was appreciative of such things. She was slightly disappointed to hear the song end, leaving them standing motionless.
"Thank you, Ulquiorra." She smiled. "That was enjoyable."
no subject
"There seems to be another song playing." Holding out his hand for hers, he gave a slight shrug. "And there is time yet."
no subject
"There is indeed." She did like the movements, the twirling and sashaying. As they danced, a thought occured to her.
"Do you ever do anything in Hueco Mundo... 'for fun'?"
no subject
Though, he supposed there were times when there was little to do. "I suppose many of the Arrancar train themselves, or buisy themselves with differet personal projects." Not that he himself ever needed to do such a thing.
no subject
She couldn't say she had done differently, however. There were Mayuri-sama's orders. And that was it. Any 'fun' she derived had come from the Women's Association Meetings, or the vice's meetings. Times when she was away from her creator, though he still ruled her. It was only recently she was even coming to the conclusion that he wasn't here. For which she was very glad. Nemu knew if Mayri-sama were here, nothing like this right now would ever be happening. And she liked this.
no subject
"However, I cannot say that it was something I was not.. fond of. There, I had a purpose."
no subject
"There is only a hollow void where purpose was, and we must strive to fill it."
no subject
"That seems very.. odd."
no subject
"When there are voids, all creatures try and satisfy them. You came from a Hollow, which always strove to fill an emptiness. Humans search for fulfillment all their lives, and deaths. Is it really so strange that an Arrancar would be the same in that respect?"
She had a feeling he may try and deny such a thing, as he seemed to recall Arrancar felt much of anything. But the reports she'd read had shown her feeling creatures. With pride, anger, shock, and fear. All emotions.
no subject
"I do not know how to fullfill the void I posess."
no subject
"Perhaps I could teach you what I know? And we could learn together?" It was almost a timid offer, perhaps she was afraid of a refusal, she did not know. It seemed lately she did not know a lot of things.
no subject
"I suppose that would be interesting." he murmured, distinctly not looking at her. Somehow, it seemed a little emberessing to say such things.
no subject
She enjoyed this activity, dancing, and was loathe to end it, though she knew it would have to eventually.
no subject
"It seems to be getting late." he said quietly, realizing that his feet were beginning to hurt.
no subject
"... We should most likely retire." The creation shifted, fiddled with the hem of her dress, and tucked a strand of hair behind one ear.
"Would you like to perhaps..." She struggled for a suitable word. "... join me at my residence for relaxation? Or do you need to get back to something?"
no subject
"I.. should get back. I have.. some things to do."
