Log;

Miroku made his way up to the apartment he shared with Sango, Kitty in tow, still feeling slightly embarassed. The fact that they had ended up lying there like that was one thing. The fact that he had reacted the way he did was another entirely. He knew he should've felt more ashamed about it, but darn it, it was just embarassing that he'd gotten so flustered! He was supposed to be collected all of the time, calm and able to deal with... perverse things. This wasn't even anywhere near really perverse, and still...! How stupid. He might just have to blame that blush on the cold, to save face.

He did, however, brighten considerably when they reached the door to the apartment and he turned the knob to let himself in. "Sango?" he called, stepping inside. The warmth of his home made him smile, as his fingers and face were still numb from creating his fantastic, best-in-the-world snow octopus.

Sango's torso leaned from the door of the kitchen, where she was heating water for tea. She smiled brightly to see Miroku in the doorway, Kitty not so behind. "Hello, Houshi-sama, Kitty-san." She emerged more fully from the other room, barefooted against the carpet, "You must be freezing." At least Kitty seemed to be wearing warmer clothes, Miroku was in the same old thing, sandles and all.

Kitty had managed to force herself to stop blushing so fiercely, but if she had less willpower she would still be very, very flushed with embarrassment. It was awkward, to say the least. I mean, Miroku had fallen on top of her. That didn't generally tend to happen. And then he hadn't realised what was wrong and... yes. Awkward.

But like Miroku, she cheered up as they got to the flat, and positively beamed when she caught sight of Sango when the door was opened, a cheerful wave accompanying a quick hello of greeting.

"Yes, errr, quite cold," a sheepish nod of agreement was given, "but that's rather my own fault. Both our faults. Some snow, errr, sort of ended up down our backs. Heh," she laughed nervously, "can't think how that happened."

"I'm sure you'll pull through." She said wryly, though she frowned her hand brushed at his. They weren't kidding about being cold, certainly. Even the ends of his hair were... Wait a second. She'd only just noticed that his hair was down, and so leveled a scrutinous gaze at it. Giving little more than a 'hm,' at it and smiling again.

"Well, come in and have a seat. I'm making tea, if you'd like any."

[identity profile] kittyjones.livejournal.com 2006-12-11 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, don't play the victim," with an exasperated sigh she rolled her eyes fondly at Miroku, "you know full well I was provoked, when you made that... thing. And you lost any complaining rights when you did the same to me!"

Grinning, she nodded in agreement with Sango. "Indeed. We'll all keep our fingers crossed for a speedy recovery. And thank you, tea would be lovely!" Stepping forward, Kitty was very grateful she'd already dried off enough to not drip icy water on the floor.

She let out a noise akin to 'oof' as his arms encircled her and she was pulled into that haven of dark cloth. He was still rather cold, though, and she peeked almost curiously out at Kitty. Miroku was speaking to her even now, the expression on her face turned clearly into one of wider questioning, "Snow octopus?" She whispered in questioning.

His grip loosened, then, and she was brought another question before an answer. She stared at him for a moment, as if she really didn't know what to say. And, really, she didn't know at all, "Um... It's nice, I suppose." Really, that was such a womanly thing to ask; the corner of her mouth turned up at that thought.

"My temper?" Kitty exclaimed in mock incredulity, "Oh, you're one to talk. You're the one who... oh, never mind." Probably was not a good idea to describe the entire series of events that had passed. For once thing, Sango was looking confused enough already at the mention of that most dreaded of snow creations.

Kitty nodded, unable to stop herself grinning in spite of herself as she spoke in a stage whisper to Sango. "It was terrible. He made a... it was really terrible. Frightening. Emotionally scarring. I bet some poor little squirrel will come across it in the middle of the night and drop down dead from horror."

[identity profile] boomerang-girl.livejournal.com 2006-12-11 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
"You're so odd, Houshi-sama," was really all that Sango could add to the conversation, in a flat voice. She rolled her eyes and pulled away, taking her hair with her. "I don't think that any squirrel should have to die, though, glory or not." She chastised mockingly, slowly backing her way to the kitchen, where she was sure the water was hot enough by now.

[identity profile] kittyjones.livejournal.com 2006-12-11 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
"No," she shook her finger at Miroku, "you lose, because of what you failed to notice after I fell down. Yes?"

She was tempted to continue in a little tirade about everything that had been wrong with his snowman (beginning with the fact that snowmen weren't even meant to have legs, let alone eight of them), but Sango summed it all up rather nicely. "Yes. Exactly what I was thinking. You have a way with words that can't be matched, Sango."

Still smiling, she followed Sango into the kitchen, pausing on the way to elbow Miroku lightly and mutter something that sounded like "Squirrel Killer".

[identity profile] boomerang-girl.livejournal.com 2006-12-11 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
"Would I hesitate to let you know if it was bad, Houshi-sama?" She slipped into the door of the kitchen once more, thanking Kitty for the compliment about her 'way with words'.

She pulled out three tea-cups, purchased from a store in town that sold home-wares, and gave each a healthy dose of tea leaves and hot water. Turning back in direction of her bickering betrothed and friend, she smiled once again, "Would either of you like anything to eat, as well?"

[identity profile] kittyjones.livejournal.com 2006-12-11 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
"Squirrel killer, indeed, you're despicable," she turned back briefly to whisper at him, though her words were perfectly audible.

"I'm fine, honestly," she smiled in thanks, before adding, "although I wouldn't be surprised if Miroku wanted octopus. D'you need any help with that? It's been ages since I've seen someone make proper tea with leaves!"

[identity profile] boomerang-girl.livejournal.com 2006-12-11 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm fine." She nodded thanks to Kitty for offering. Though, her nose scrunched in question at the other woman's latter comment, "How does anyone make tea without the leaves..?"

She set the cups aside to steep for a moment, leaning her elbows on the counter and looking to Miroku as he questioned her in return for her last question. "I have eaten, yes. I just wasn't sure if you had."

[identity profile] kittyjones.livejournal.com 2006-12-11 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
Kitty was tempted to make a similar gesture back at her highly irksome friend, but decided to rise above it, merely fixing him with one of her patented 'men are stupid and thoroughly immature' glares.

Mentally she slapped herself for being such an idiot. Feudal Japan probably did not have teabags. "You, err... well, you use a kettle. And a teabag. Well, the bag is actually filled with tea leaves, I suppose, but it's different." It was a very articulate explanation, if she did say so herself. Then, brightening considerably, she added, "I'll get you some Earl Grey for Christmas!"

[identity profile] boomerang-girl.livejournal.com 2006-12-11 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
"Earl Grey...?" She questioned, eyebrows raising in question. Miroku, face smug, was all around her again. "That is strange," she agreed with him so far as tea in bags went. Her head tilted down as he planted a kiss there, eyes turning away from Kitty as she blushed lightly for the gesture.

"So, you two had fun in the snow, then?" She was a little lost on conversation, actually, so she'd let them do the talking.

[identity profile] kittyjones.livejournal.com 2006-12-11 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes, Earl Grey! It's a type of tea," she nodded vigorously, "I mean, you can get all sorts of tea, herbal, strong, weak, but this is just really quite a good one." Pausing, her forehead crinkled a little as she thought, "It's not that strange, is it?" Maybe it was. I mean... tea. In a bag. Whoever came up with that idea must have been very brilliant, or very bored.

Fun in the snow? Well, that was one way of putting it. "We had a great time, yes! It doesn't show any signs of letting up, so you should come out too one of these days, Sango! You'd beat Miroku at a snowball fight in any case," she smirked a little, "he's pretty pathetic when it comes to being cold."

[identity profile] boomerang-girl.livejournal.com 2006-12-11 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
"I will." She smiled at the thought of being able to pelt someone with snow. At childish as it was, she was missing fighting in all of it's physical forms. She rolled her eyes at Miroku's proclaimation of being better in the weather than Kitty gave him credit for.

Craning her head a bit over the counter to inspect the tea cups, she then gestured towards them vaguely. "Help yourselves, please."

[identity profile] kittyjones.livejournal.com 2006-12-11 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
"I don't doubt she's seen them before," she said, "they're pretty common back in my world. Like I said, I'll find you some, and you can productively wile away the hours studying the mechanics of teabags!" And what a party that would be.

At Sango's invitation she reached for a cup of tea, murmuring her grateful thanks as it began to warm her still-icy hands. "We'll have a proper snow fight soon, then. Girls versus boys..." Kitty stopped herself, before giving a broad smirking, "Sorry, boy. Singular. Think he'll be able to beat us when it's two against one, Sango?"
