Log; Complete
When; Dec 10, night (before, then during the fireworks)
Rating; PG-13 for language, as expected
Characters; Grimmjow Jaggerjack [
6thsword] & Hinamori Momo [
hajikemomo]
Summary; After "kidnapping" Hinamori from the other shinigami during the Christmas party, Grimmjow carries her outside the temple for some privacy...
Log;
Grimmjow exited the temple on a victorious high from his latest jaw-dropping stunt, his prize clinging, frightened, to his neck despite herself. The arrancar trudged through the snow-covered lawn towards an empty bench outside, where he neatly deposited Hinamori before collapsing down beside her.
"Now wasn't that grand," he remarked, the smirk not leaving his face and his eyes not leaving hers. "You have a fun time, peach?"

He was calm about the whole thing and for some reason that irritated her. Especially since she still couldn't figure out what to say.
"...You kissed me," was her eventual result, stupid, obvious, and sounded as dumbfounded as she felt.

The fireworks were rather dull. Others might consider them pretty, but Grimmjow didn't really care for temporary bursts of color. Perhaps he watched them so as to give Hinamori a chance to catch herself, instead of having to deal with a constant and intense stare.

The small shinigami sighed, glancing over at the fireworks herself. "I don't... get you."

But then his next words surprised even him.
"Honestly? I don't get me, either."

"If you're going to do that again... It's bad enough you've gotten away with it twice, but if you try it again I won't allow it. No matter how cute you think it is." The small shinigami pulled the jacket around her tighter, the cold finally really starting to get to her, more because of the distance she was putting between her and the arrancar than anything else.

"Then push me away," Grimmjow replied to her next statements, glancing over and smiling slightly as she pulled his jacket around her. Did she even realize she was doing it? "It ain't that hard. I told you I'd be civil."

"I tried pushing you away then." She was playing with the fabric in her hands as she held it around her, trying to think, find some way to change the subject, do something to distract herself. She came up short, and sighed slightly while she continued to stare at the snow.

The fireworks were so redundant now that Grimmjow was beside himself with boredom. He stood up and brushed at the snow clinging to his pants. Technically, he lived at the temple, but he wasn't planning on staying any longer while there was a party. Maybe he'd go underground and kill some monsters for the hell of it.
"Well, I'm outta here," he said over his shoulder at the shinigami, then started off across the snow-covered lawn. Halfway across, he stopped and turned around. "Don't bother returning the jacket."
Then, in a blink, he was gone.
