When; December 20th, night
Rating; PG... Ran's mouthy at times.
Characters; Rangiku and Aizen
Summary; Conversation, seasoned with a little steel
Log; It was amazing to Rangiku. The abscence of sight always made senses much higher, but the forest was noisy; even more than usual. Carefully, if she concentrated, she was able to pick out all the different birds sounding before they made for thir nests, and the soft footfalls of the animals around her.

So far, she'd been able to avoid any of the truly dangerous creatures by her own speed and stealth. Once the few challenges had been met and bested, Haineko settled beside her mistress, silent as she watched the bare branches move in the breeze.

He puts his finger to his cheek, then held it out and blew the small bit away.

"I countered enough of it."

She still counted that as a small victory. "Indeed you did." Her feet itched to move, but she stayed standing where she was, watching him. "If you want a plain old draw, I'll oblige you."

She flashed out of sight, then reappeared right in front of him, Haineko scraping as she slid along the outside of her hilt.

He countered with Kyouka Suigetsu, locking up with her blade and reaching out to try and grasp her wrist.

"I trust you have burned up some energy tonight, then?"

His hand closed around her wrist, and she didn't try and move it. She knew better. If he wanted to, he could pull her arm from her shoulder and she didn't want to risk it.

Instead, she just stared up at him, not noticing the difference in height until now.

"Yeah... I did. Sorry I'm not good enough to keep up with you..."

"I went in expecting a massive challenge, anyway. I was bored, so I came here. You did better than I thought. Shall we bid one another a fond evening?" he asked, putting his sword away.

Now she shook his hand off. It wasn't as harsh as it could've been. Her pride stung a little, but it wasn't the first time and it certainly wouldn't be the last. Not bothering to move away any, she bowed her head and offered him a polite smile.

"Of course. Thank you for joining me. I almost enjoyed it."

He gave a polite bow and was soon gone.
