Log; completed
When; Tonight
Rating; PG
Characters; Tenten [
weaponed] at first, Grimmjow [
6thsword] and Hinamori [
hajikemomo]
Summary; Don't ever trust a ninja. Especially not when she knows more about your love life than you probably do, and offers to take you to dinner.
Log;
It was sort of because she was bored, in the end. Not that waiting about for the Espada to show made her boredom any the easier to handle but~ Well. It was this, or sit with Hinamori as the girl fidgeted nervously for several hours without a word. Not quite this ninja's idea of fun, to say the least, even if she had offered to be keep her company.
No, with a small smile she'd told the young vice captain all she knew, not at all surprised to note that what she knew was a lot more than most people seemed to have grasped. The joys of a working intel system and common sense. Well, that, a good knack at reading people, and rather handy hacking skills added to it all and ultimately, it really wasn't a shock that Hinamori didn't have anything to add to Tenten's take on the situation.
The bun haired girl had, through no fault of her - or his - own, gradually picked up a thing or two about emotions from Hisoka and had offered the simple advice of facing the source of her confusion. Having the girl agree she'd taken it upon herself to act as intermediary.
It didn't hurt to be on good terms with the enemy of your ally, after all. Small things like this always paid off.

It was odd, this change of atmosphere, but it was also relieving. He actually felt comfortable now with her arms around him. He raised his hand to brush away the bangs hanging precariously over her eyes.
He really was getting soft. Damn.

Hinamori managed to smile slightly in response, "I'm glad she did. And that you're better," she added, moving to leave him alone and return to her seat.
no subject
"And thank you for worrying." He guessed it was the right thing to say. Though he'd told her more than once not to worry about him, the sole fact that she did was reassuring. It meant she cared.
no subject
Of course, none of that really settled her close to growling stomach, so the small shinigami picked up her fork again.

The Espada fell silent as they ate, now content with the atmosphere in the room. They could have gone on without speaking and he wouldn't complain at all.
During the silence, it hit him that he couldn't go "home" anymore, at least, not with Cobray living there. Grimmjow still felt intense hatred for the man, and he was sure that if they ran into each other, more than a room would be reduced to cinders.
"Momo," he said slowly, raising his eyes to meet hers, "is it all right if I sleep here? I ain't going back to the temple 'cause that son of a bitch want to kill me, and Aizen's place is too depressing." If she declined, he supposed he would be fine sleeping on a roof somewhere.

"I-" What could she say? She didn't want to turn him down simply because of Kusajishi-fukutaichou, though, but at the same time... Oh, what if Hitsugaya finally came back? Stupid, stupid, she lowered her gaze while mentally berating herself. "I guess for tonight... That's fine." He couldn't stay stay though. No one else would think kindly of the gesture, even if she wanted him to.

He sat back, gnawing on his fork. He knew he didn't have to worry about Nell, so he only hoped that pink-haired shinigami could sleep deeply. No one else lived there, right? "Thanks."
no subject
To say the least.
no subject
But then he frowned, confused. "Wait. You don't sleep in your own room?" Talk about weird.
no subject
Not that she really minded if people saw it that way, simply that it was irritating when people got the wrong impression. So the dark haired shinigami fell quiet, staring at her hands in her lap.

In other situations he might've taken her words to mean that she slept with this Hitsugaya, at least when he was around, and he would've gotten pissed beyond reason. But Grimmjow remembered when she'd unknowingly spent the night in his room, and he supposed it was just easier for to sleep knowing she was safe.
no subject
The issue had never really been raised before, no one else having thought she'd still get them considering she'd woken up from the coma by herself. In fact, only Hitsugaya had known at all. Having Grimmjow know too... She found she didn't mind that much, either.

The arrancar looked down at his plate. It was empty now, and he didn't feel like helping himself to seconds.
no subject
Talking about Hitsugaya would probably only irritate Grimmjow, and sadden her, so as she cleared Hinamori tried to think of something else to talk about.
no subject
But they still needed a change of topic, and fast. "You know, this kinda thing ain't bad." The words were out of his mouth before he could think. "Dinner, I mean. Next time should be my treat, I guess."

Hinamori glanced over her shoulder at him while waiting for the sink to fill, thinking about it. He hadn't really seemed the sort for much, but he'd already proved her wrong on more than one occasion. Still... The small girl doubted that cooking was a strong point with any arrancar, given Nell's attempts.
no subject
It was odd, discussing something so ordinary such as where to eat and whether he could cook or not, but it was bringing a smile to her face.
no subject
"There are enough places to go though, I guess."
no subject
His gaze wandered down to the sink quickly filling with soap suds. Moving to stand beside her, he rolled up his jacket sleeves and nudged her slightly. "Scoot over a little, let me help."
no subject
At the nudge though, she shook her head. "It's fine, you don't have to. It's just dishes."
no subject
He reached into the sink as if to pick up a dish... then flicked his hand up, lightly splashing water at Hinamori's face. His own cracked into another grin.
no subject
"That's not helping, stupid."
no subject
"I try my hardest," he replied blithely, splashing her again for good measure. He would be sure to duck if she tried to fight back.
no subject
"Stop it!" Soaked robes were not fun.
no subject
"All right, all right," he conceded, turning back to the sink and finally picking up a dish to wash it. Then he added with a grin tossed at her, "Fucking killjoy."
