Log; Ongoing
When; Immediately after Wings log (January 3rd)
Rating; ?
Characters; Albedo (
theinfinite_667), Rubedo (
red_dragon_666), Yggdrasill (
heartxofxcruxis)
Summary; Rubedo has an interesting reaction to Albedo's new look...
Log;
Albedo flapped the wide pinions, lifting himself off the ground momentarily, remaining at a hover until the still-strengthening wings burned and he let himself drop to the ground. Brilliant. So, the pseudo-angel had done what he had agreed to do. The wings worked; presumably, he would be able to fly as well as he had when the curse had allowed it.
He departed from the steps of the old laboratory, leaving its deceptively ruined exterior behind in the distance. The wind rushed through his hair and, now, new feathers; it was strange, the sensation of having two extra appendages and being able to feel them just like any other part of him. The air nudged feathers back and forth, and he noticed when the larger pinion feathers shifted, or when the downy fluff around the bones puffed up in the breeze. So, so strange...
In a good way, though. Surely he looked like the freak now, and that amused him; here was a man in a flight suit, carrying a cape in one gloved hand, fluttering his wings like he had never seen them before. His suit was peeled down to his waist, unable to cover the wings, and his back was nearly covered in scarlet from the blood that Yggdrasill's experimenting had drawn. It had pooled on the table, covering most of his body suit, spotting his gloves, and crusting over the skin on his torso and arms. He looked like he had just been through a serious fight, probably, but he didn't care. What was the worst that could happen? Someone would give him a strange look?
He licked his thumb and rubbed a spot off his chin. Maybe he should fly into Rubedo's window and scare the boy. That would be amusing...
Thinking of the possibilities, he continued his leisurely pace down the old street that would eventually lead him to Building 6.

He had just been about to walk through the door when he had sensed his brother's presence nearby. Even without the link, there was no mistaking it. Turning to look, though, hadn't been a very good decision. He almost wished he hadn't. The wings were one thing... That might have been because of a curse he didn't know about again. But the blood? It was everywhere!
The potatoes and carrots lay forgotten on the cement as he jumped over them and headed for Albedo's direction at a dead run. Whoever was with him looked like a kid, sure, but Rubedo knew from personal experience to not judge by appearance alone. It wasn't Albedo Rubedo was aiming for, so the elder URTV ran right past him to slam directly into the blond at his side.
Without wasting a second, he had his gun out by the time they landed on the ground, and he had his waist straddled with one hand resting at his throat and the pistol aimed under his chin.
"Son of a bitch, what did you do to him?!"

"So you're his precious brother!" he exclaimed. So protective. It was adorable.
Nothing like his sister.

So, Albedo did nothing but watch. "Precious, I'd say isn't quite the right word. But, yes, that's my little brother." He smirked, flashing white teeth. "You're energetic today, eh, Rubedo? Already took your nap? Had too many cookies?" He knew the boy was technically older than Albedo was, but the little jabs were mandatory nowadays. After all, someone had to keep Rubedo on his toes, and he deserved it on many occasions.

It appeared that this kid...guy...whatever wasn't Albedo's enemy. But then why was Albedo covered in blood, and why did he have wings? Had they been in cahoots on this?
Ignoring the obvious jabs at his appearance, the red head turned the gun to aim at Albedo, though he actually cocked it this time. Never any harm in actually letting a bullet fly when it came to his brother, after all.
"So then it's your ass I ought to be kicking! What did you do now?! You're always up to no good."

"Mm. I can't believe I missed these--" with his small fingers, he plucked the dried bits of blood from his hair and discarded it. "At least it didn't get into my clothes..." he murmured before finally coming to the silver-haired URTV's defense. Or somewhat. "He didn't do anything bad, Rubedo. He was rather obedient, actually."
no subject
"There's a difference between obedience and willingness. Remember that. You gave no orders." He turned to Rubedo again and shrugged his wings, still favoring the boy with a sardonic grin and an amethyst stare that said he was enjoying every second of his brother's panic. Ah, this was rich. He hadn't seen Rubedo so surprised in a long time.
"Well? What do you think?"

Then he looked back to Albedo and finally clicked the safety back on, his pistol sliding into it's holster as he eyed the impressive flex of the wings. "...Like that curse day... But you made them permanent? Albedo, look at what it did to you...jeez..."
Unable to halt his curiosity, though, he stepped behind him to reach out and touch one of the wings, his hand running along the feather, curious if he could really feel it. He remembered still how weird it had felt when Gaignun had touched Rubedo's own wings.
"How did you do it? He did it?" Rubedo nodded towards the angel.

"He's something of a scientist, it seems." The white-haired man laughed once, staring down his nose at his brother. He turned his back to the boy; despite the amount of blood dried over his skin, there were no visible wounds. "Rubedo, you're afraid I'll die from a few scratches? See, no harm done." There was a little bit of emphasis on the name; on occasion, Rubedo's hatred for his own name bothered the man, and he insisted upon reminding him that Jr. was, in fact, just a flimsy little alias.
And I wish Yggdrasill would turn back into his usual form so that he'll stop looking like a cute little kid. It's disgusting how innocent he seems.

Shaking his head, Rubedo stepped back and looked over his shoulder towards the fallen groceries. They were ruined, of course. He wanted to ask how it had been done. How long would it last? But instead he completely dismissed the subject and turned, rubbing his hand against his sleeve.
"...I need to go get more food again, for dinner. You made me drop it."
no subject
"And I have to go back now-" He turned to the silver-haired URTV and grinned charmingly. "Now don't fly too high now, Albedo. I'll leave you with your brother now. Good night~"
He waved, and then turned to walk in the other direction, back to his laboratory. Let Albedo indulge him about his true nature, for now, he was going to act the harmless little child.

When Rubedo muttered about his groceries, Albedo gave him a sardonic look, shook his head, and continued back toward the apartment. "Well, have fun, Rubedo. Ever the mundane. You should try something like this sometimes. The City has all sorts of interesting characters..."
no subject
"Tch, I've got no interest in having wings." Okay, that was a little bit of a lie. He admitted that being able to fly...would be wicked cool. But he wasn't going to let some creepy demigod scientist experiment on him and make him bleed all over the place and risk dying just so he could have wings that would only get in the way... Not to mention if he ever returned home, he sure couldn't pass as a normal civilian anymore.
Sighing, Rubedo leaned over his fallen bag of groceries and pulled all of the dirty food into it so that he could pick it up to carry it over to a trash can, which always seemed to magically empty itsels afterward. "Right now I just want some dinner. Now Sakura's going to have to wait LONGER while I go back out."
He was sure to shoot Albedo and his...wings a dirty look before walking away from both the building and his brother, one hand waving over his shoulder.
