Log; COMPLETED
When; January 5th
Rating; G
Characters; Lyra Silvertongue and Pantalaimon
lyra_of_dust Cho Hakkai
nolonger_human
Summary; Hakkai moves in to Lyra's flat
Log;
Pantalaimon had made his concerns clear, but Lyra felt there was nothing wrong with inviting one of the new arrivals that wasn't insane, or insanely rude, to stay at her flat. Well Mr. Hakkai seemed nice enough, so there shouldn't be a problem, unless he was nosy.
"Stop worrying," she told her dæmon, "He en't that bad, I'm sure." While Pantalaimon's companionship kept away the ticking most of the time, Lyra didn't mind having other people around. And unlike her dæmon, she was an optimist.
"It'll be nice having someone around to talk to Pan- anyway, if he's got a pet dragon, I bet he won't think we're strange at all!"

Hakuryu had awoken when he'd been in the Cafe, though unfortunately too weak to transform into Jeep to provide transportation. Even the little dragon had fought for them against the rogue gods and was worn from that. Hakkai now had the dragon either hovering just at his side, or sitting upon his shoulder.
Thinking on what had occurred in his world, he decided that there were some things people didn't need to know just then, that could definitely be construed badly. As he came to that conclusion, he also came up to the apartment building, and made his way up to apartment thirty-seven, knocking on the door lightly.

Whatever he was, Hakkai wasn't human. He didn't give Pantalaimon a bad feeling, so Lyra decided to be polite and not mention it. Lots of people in the city weren't human, anyway.
"Mr. Hakkai! Hakuryu! Please come in, you look tired. Would you like some tea?" Lyra asked as she showed them in.
no subject
"Thank you very much, Miss Lyra. Tea would be wonderful." He looked around the apartment as he took off his shoes, leaning inconspicuously against the wall for support. Hakuryu took off from him to look around the apartment, being curious and impatient just then, with how new this world was.
After his shoes were off he smiled once more at Lyra, then at Pantalaimon, eyes looking a little curious when he saw the martin-like animal. "Please, don't call me Mr Hakkai though, it makes me feel far too old."

"Come in and sit down, it'll be ready soon," she called out. She could sense Pantalaimon's curiousity as he tracked Hakuryu, and she reached into the cabinet to find some teacups.
"If you want, we could show you around the city later. It's easy enough to find your way though."
no subject
"Very well then, Lyra it is. It's just you and..him? I'm sorry, I don't believe you told me his name, if he has one." He smiled almost apologetically as he moved to sit down, watching the young woman - girl, truly, though she held herself as though she were at least a few years older than she seemed to be.
no subject
"Do you want a biscuit or something?" she asked. He definitely seemed nice enough, and not at all mad.
no subject
"Though I suppose I don't know how things are in your world.."
no subject
"You don't need to look after me-I've taken care of myself in more dangerous places than this," she reassured him as she set out his tea and biscuit, before setting herself opposite from him.

He sipped at the tea and murmured a thank you to the young girl as Hakuryu flew back to him, landing on his shoulder and barely disturbing the man. He was also not bothered in the slightest when the dragon stretched out his neck and balanced precariously on his shoulder to reach the biscuit, eating it in one bite.
"I am glad to hear, though, that you're able to take care of yourself. Especially with some things I've heard of in this city."

"There are a few people that responded to my..entry in the.. What did you call it? The 'network'? Apparently one was a friend of yours as well. A Miss Rangiku I think her name was? She seemed pleasant enough."
no subject
"When you're done with your tea, I can show you your room."
no subject
He sipped and finished the last of his tea, picking Hakuryu up off of his shoulder and holding the dragon gently. "I appreciate you letting me stay here, by the way. If there is anything you'd like me to do, anything at all, please let me know. I can cook well and am a healer, should you ever need that." Though the thought of the twelve- or thirteen-year-old needing him for healing bothered him.
no subject
"And you're a healer- well, I don't really get hurt that much, but there seems to be a demand for them sometimes-not everyone here gets along," Lyra shrugged, "You needn't worry though- even if they're deadly enemies in their own world, conflicts in the city tend not to go to far."
She stood up, holding Pantalaimon in her hands as she left the kitchen, "You seem rather tired- your room's just this way."
no subject
"I used to cook often in my world for myself and a few friends." His smile hid the memory of before that time easily. "And I had to heal often as well, unfortunately."
Hakuryu seemed definitely tired as well, and Hakkai gave another smile, this one showing his exhaustion. "I am rather tired, yes. Thank you."
no subject
"Here it is- If you're tired, you better sleep. And... I don't want to get your hopes up-I've been here for almost two months, and no one I know from before I got here has shown up... but maybe someone you know might show up in the city? It happens to lots of people," Lyra explained.
no subject
"Maybe they will, it would be nice to see a familiar face. One can hope at least. I hope someone comes from your world as well." He rested a gentle hand on the girl's shoulder, then unconsciously lifted a hand to almost tease at his youkai power limiters.
"Good-night Lyra. And once again, thank you." He smiled again and went into the bedroom now, Hakuryu giving a soft 'Kyuu' before flying to the foot of the bed and curling up there.

Hakkai's hand on her shoulder came as a surprise, and she flinched slightly, but smiled reassuringly.
"G'night Hakkai," Lyra yawned, before heading to to her own room, still holding Pantalaimon in her arms.
