Log; complete
When; Jan 20
Rating; PG-16 FOR BLOOD AND ANGST WUT
Characters; Grimmjow [
6thsword], Nell [
lisped], an unconscious Hinamori, and any healers on their way
Summary; After receiving word of Forte's attack on Hinamori, Grimmjow goes to find her. Unohana and Isane arrive shortly aftwards to tend to the vice-captain's wounds.
Log;
No words could describe the utter fury Grimmjow was subconsciously releasing onto the City, but at that moment he didn't care. There was only one thing that mattered, only one thing that commanded his attention and he was this close to razing the City just to find her.
Where had they been? Where was the fight? Reaching out to sense Hinamori's reiatsu was pointless. Nell... He could barely feel Nell's at all. But Il Forte, damn him, had said he'd left her somewhere obvious.
Grimmjow's sonido carried him over Xanadu, and the overpowering scent of blood nearly knocked him from the air. He spied a trail, then a pool underneath a peach tree. Damn Forte indeed; the symbolism was thick, and it only riled the Espada more.
Grimmjow landed heavily on the slick grass, pushed past a frightened Nell, and fell onto his knees at Hinamori's side. He pulled her upright and onto his lap.
She wasn't breathing.

"Nell told him to thtop it but he wouldn't and then Nell doethn't know what happened." A steady stream of tears coated her face as she wiped at her eyes in a mixture of anger and hurt, somehow not at all bothered by the force of his reiatsu. "Nell needth to thave her."

Grimmjow hugged her tight against his chest, tucking her head under his chin, not caring at all for the staining blood. His entire body quivered with insurmountable rage. "Shit," he whispered furiously. "Shit shit shit!" Every swear heightened the volume of his voice until he sat back and, with one final reiatsu blast to put the rest to shame, he tilted his face to the sky and roared.

Eyes shut, Grimmjow cut off a sigh before it could turn into a sob, and kissed the Hinamori's cold forehead.

More than her inability to feel Momo's reiatsu, more than having to track location by the Arrancar and not by her friend's, more than what Nell had said, more than anything. ... Her spirit began falling already. The vice sensed her captain not two or three flash steps behind her, but...
Her feet alighted on blood-stained ground and her face immediately fell. .. She was... But she had... to be sure. She'd felt something earlier, felt reiatsu, but... this City, it confused her senses, so much so that even Momo herself, a kidou master, couldn't accuratly trace sometimes... why here. Why did it confuse her sense this time, of all times that it could?!
Stepping forward, the healer tried to ignored Grimmjow's pain, that wouldn't help here, and press thin fingers against the shinigami vice's neck. ... Nothing. No spiritual precsense, no... nothing.
"... Momo..." Her voice came out a hoarse whisper.

The healer leaned forward placed a hand on Grimmjow's shoulder. "I'm sorry, but I need you to lay her down so I can see her."

"Nell." The Espada finally turned his attention to the toddler sobbing pitifully. He placed one hand on her head. "Hey, shut up. That's not helping." His words, though harsh, were an attempt at comforting the child.

A small gurgle of near wail, scrunching her eyes closed, she clung to Grimmjows leg to steady herself, nodding slightly. "Nell ith good."

"Wait a second." He eyed the numberless arrancar with the tiniest hint of anger. "Your spit can heal." With a jerk of his leg, Grimmjow dislodged Nell and pointed furiously at Hinamori's body. "YOU COULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING, YOU IDIOT. NOW GO HELP THE FUCKING MEDICS."

She couldn't blame the small Arrancar for blaming the shinigami... not now. Not this time.
Sitting opposite her captain, Isane couldn't help shifting the body slightly. Pale hands closing dulled eyes, tipping the mouth, slightly agape, shut, and adjusting the vice-captain's badge on her arm before laying her limbs straight, her own face wooden before she turned her eyes to Unohana.
There was no time for tears now.
{ooc: and I'm having to go, so Unohana-mun can control Isane from this time on~}

She broke the gaze and moved her attention to Hinamori, leaning over the small shinigami’s body and looking for injuries. The gashes on her shoulder and side, they were nonfatal and would be easy enough to mend. But the other wound was enough to give the healer pause.
“Isane, I will need your help with this one,” she said, indicating the hole in Hinamori’s midsection. “But first…” Unohana looked to the smaller arrancar.
“Nell, would you like to help Momo?”

She stumbled a bit, nearly crawling to the shinigamis side. "Nell will, Nell will try," she hiccuped, wiping her hand free of blood as best she could. She peeked at Grimmjow again before returning her attention to Hinamori. She gulped - why couldn't the shinigami just do this? - before sticking her hand in her mouth to force herself to drool.

Then, suddenly, he stood again, and one hand strayed to the hilt of his zanpakutou. The bell tied to it, Hinamori's bell, chimed quietly. "I'll be back, so take care of her," he told the others. "I have the fifteenth to murder."
Grimmjow took off in the direction of Il Forte's reiatsu.

Unohana looked back to Isane. “Are you ready?” The vice nodded, and Unohana removed Minazuki from her back, placing in on the ground in front of her. She hoped not to have to release her zanpakutou, but she was ready to, if need be.
Both healers placed their hands over the other shinigami’s middle. At an inclination of Unohana’s head, reiatsu began to flow from both women, aimed at the gaping wound. Torn flesh and organs began to regenerate and mend, the wound closing slowly. As they finished, Unohana looked to Isane.
“We should probably move her to our apartment. I don’t know how long it takes for the City to revive someone, but I would rather her wake up in a bed than here,” she said, frowning at the blood stained ground around them. "I would have asked the other arrancar to carry her, but it seems as if he has disappeared. ... Nell, how are you doing?"
no subject
"Momo'th going to wake up?"
no subject
“It seems as if we will need you after all,” she said, laying a hand on Minazuki. Between the three of them, Hinamori’s wounds had been seen to, but they still required assistance crossing the distance between the expansive gardens and the healers' apartment. “Isane, if you could bring Hinamori-fukutaichou over here, please."

"It's going to be okay, Momo..." She murmured to no one in particular.

Refused to admit that an arrancar was responsible for this. Watching the shinigami move, it hit Nell that things wouldn't be the same after this. "Nell will go to thee him now."

"Let's go, Minazuki," she said softly. As they rose above the gardens, Unohana closed her eyes, dreading the things she knew were to come and praying for Hinamori.
