LOG; ongoing
When; January 26
Rating; PG-13, might go up
Characters; Jyabura [
maten_rou] & Nico Robin [
blackhibiscus]
Summary; Happy happy curse is over and things go back to their usual, angsty state. Whoopie?
Log;
Even though Robin definitely preferred being happy over being sad, she didn't like the curse of the day before at all. She had been a bit too happy, and too happy usually meant vulnerable.
She was amazed that she was still alive, since she didn't dare to go outside again even while in the company of someone -- it disgusted her that her nemesis had gotten what he wanted. Robin knew that she was scared out of her mind but she still refused to admit this after all the struggle she'd given to keep on living. She didn't want to live her life constantly worrying about a surprise attack anymore; 20 years had been enough. But now, it was happening again and her own fear was making her sick, even though she couldn't help it. She wanted nothing more than being able to go outside carelessly but instead, she was stuck in her shared apartment which she didn't mind, really. It was the feeling of being in the same cage as before that drove her insane.
So she sat on the couch with her knees pulled up to her chest, some gossip magazine she had picked up somewhere in front of her while she was sulking more than she was reading.

So she sat on the couch with her knees pulled up to her chest, some gossip magazine she had picked up somewhere in front of her while she was sulking more than she was reading.

He sat next to her on the couch and watched her being depressed again and couldn't come up with a single useful thing to say. If Robin decided to be sad, it was quite impossible to change her mood. "I never got what's so great about reading. I'd rather watch you jumping through the zoo like a rubber ball again instead" he said with a smirk and leaned back.

"You think so? I wouldn't think that seeing me explode from happiness just because a flamingo was staring at me is very entertaining. I'd rather call it obnoxious," she said, staring at her feet with an enigmatic smile; even though she had been acting rather stupid, she liked the happy memories since she didn't have too many of those. At least curse days were good for something.

He moved over to Robin and thoughtfully ran a hand through the woman's hair. Well, of course he was happy that she was happy. It just bothered him that out of all possibilities a curse had made her feel the way he tried to reach since weeks with effort. The whole incident with the fucking cat and making her cry a few days ago weren't factors to lighten up his mood either. In fact he was relatively quiet and overly thoughtful the past few days, downright bothered to say the wrong thing and hurt Robin again.
"Silly, it was entertaining!" he said a bit too amused and stroked her cheek with the back of his hand. "And I'd rather call it cute" he added and leaned forward to give her a kiss.

She moved a little and resumed to lean against him with a serene smile, her legs curled up against her. "Well, then I hope it's okay to call you cute, too."
no subject
"I bet you don't wonder that this is my first time too someone called me that" he said after he gave her a well, sceptical look. Assassins shouldn't be cute to begin with and the words people used to describe him were usually the furthest away from cute.

"No, that isn't a surprise. What should I call you then? Dangerous?" she said, closing her eyes and stretching her legs for a moment before making a pillow out of his chest.

"If you really think so?" he said and stroked her sides with both of his hands. That would be a word he's definitely more used to and well, it was a compliment of some sort. "Actually I prefer that a lot over cute." He bit along her neck again, up to hear ear. "Robin, when you're with me... you do feel safe, do you?" he asked her suddenly, still feeling guilty for the incidents of the last days.
no subject
"No. I don't feel safe," she said solemnly, sighing and tearing her eyes away from the ceiling to look at his face. "Because I know that there's someone who wants to kill me who's stronger than you are. The only one I feel safe with right now is Luffy. I'm sorry." Maybe she would never feel safe with anyone else besides her captain.

When she looked into his face, he quickly looked away. She didn't have to see how much that offended and hurt him. For a while he said nothing because he simply had no idea what to reply. How revealing and refreshing, really.
"Hm, fine" he said finally and shrugged. He really wasn't in the mood for any bickering which would possibly ensue and just looked at the floor.

"I'm so sorry," she sighed and she sat up, while picking her magazine up from the floor again to distract herself. She started to feel rather depressed again; she blamed her constant mood swings on her pregnancy and hoped that it'd be over soon.

He got up too and walked to the window, staring out of it into the direction of the forest. Killing some of those animals would be the right thing now. Just tearing something apart to release all the feelings. Fuck this talking, really, it never worked out. Killing did, effectively.
"Oh yeah?" he said while fetching a bottle of sake from under the table and walked back to the window slowly. "I don't think so" he added, opened the bottle and took some sips.

She crossed her legs and tried to concentrate on reading instead of bickering, but she was horribly failing. Why did every negative thing she said have to turn out into another fight? Was she just that shallow or was he being overly sensitive? She didn't know who was at fault her, and frankly, she didn't even want to know.
no subject
"I'm going out tonight" he said and took some more sips before putting the bottle on the windowsill. Carefully he ran his hand over the wound in his neck. It would be too early for hunting, but he couldn't care less now.

He'd went to the bathroom to take care of his wound before the hunt would make it even worse. "You know, this is no cage. Nobody put you on any chains." Silence while he put on new bandages and his jacket back on. "I'd usually escort you back to your pirates right now, but if you don't feel safe with me, you won't feel any different without me" he shrugged and turned around to leave the apartment.
"You're not the only one who has to make sacrifices" he said hardly audible and closed the door behind him.
