Log: Incomplete

When; Afternoon of June 4.

Rating; PG?

Characters; Jenos [livejournal.com profile] mythrilthreads, Shao Lee [livejournal.com profile] europeancut, Evelynne [livejournal.com profile] unbewildered, Amadeus [livejournal.com profile] impolitical, Rabi [livejournal.com profile] h_ammertime, Aya [livejournal.com profile] eclipsing_heart, Sunny [livejournal.com profile] killer_sunshine, Komui [livejournal.com profile] superslack, and anyone else who wanted to come. The listed are the ones who have agreed to the log already, but the post is open.

Summary; Refer back to this post. Amadeus tries to force a break on Evelynne, who still seems too preoccupied with leaving the city by use of doors. With the help of the others, he gets her to Room 13 in Building 7.

Log;

He hadn't expected it to be easy to get her to leave. Amadeus had almost expected to have to smoke her out, actually. But after a collective effort on his part and several others, he had succeeded in pulling Evelynne out and to the "beach."

He didn't once ask why there was a beach in a room in a building. He didn't even let it cross his mind. Right now, his first priority was to get Evelynne to unstress and unwind. The very idea that she was the one who was a ball of nerves for once didn't seem right - it didn't flow with the natural order of the world, even if this was some strange alternate universe that had no working sense.

"This is it," he said, looking the door marked 13 up and down. Halls here felt endless and limitless, and to the right and left was mostly lines of doors and fluorescent lights that somehow faded into darkness instead of an end. Not giving it another second of thought, he turned the knob and pushed the door open for the others.

“Hurry up Shao!” Jenos frantically waved back towards his roommate, who walked at a slower, more leisurely pace. Shao acknowledged Jenos with a slight nod and smile, but didn’t change his pace. Jenos sighed, knowing that there was nothing he could say to get Shao to care. “I’m going in! You better hurry!” With that, Jenos stepped into room 13, and into the light.

He removed his sunglasses from his sports duffle, and slipped them on. The bright light seemed too bright to be natural. Jenos glanced curiously around at his surroundings, before giving a low whistle. “So there really is beach here, huh?”

[identity profile] unbewildered.livejournal.com 2006-06-05 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, yay," Evelynne muttered with a roll of her eyes. She followed somewhat behind Jenos, arms still crossed since the outset of the walk over to this particular location. This was, after all, a lot of precious time being wasted. Right now, she could be--she could be...

Opening doors.

Well, fine. It wasn't like she could be doing much. It wasn't like those doors were helping anyway. It wasn't like they were going to get home any time soon.

Though then again, it wasn't helping either, this whole, "Let's go to the beach!" idea. Evelynne glanced down at her watch, its hands twisted apart to indicate that here, it was sun and afternoon, and back home--wherever home was--it was time to get off of work, time for Amadeus to drop by, time for dinner, time for something other than whatever it was they were doing here.

The thought depressed her. The thought of her being depressed depressed her. She wasn't a depressed person. She was one of those get-go types that made lemons into very cheap vodka.

It just wasn't right, that was all. Especially with things like stupid fine white sands and unrealistically blue skies blinding her somewhat sensitive, was-checking-doors-in-dark-buildings-for-weeks eyesight.

[identity profile] mythrilthreads.livejournal.com 2006-06-05 02:26 am (UTC)(link)
Jenos turned around, and gave Evelynne one of his brightest grins. “Evelynne!” He grabbed her arm, and spun her around giddily. “I haven’t seen you face to face for a long time! You’re always off opening doors!” He let her go, and dropped his duffle onto the sand.

He had been coped up for too long. His days were now comprised of eating, drinking, and spending countless hours on his laptop. Jenos was not used to inactivity. A beach excursion was a good way to blow off excess energy.

[identity profile] unbewildered.livejournal.com 2006-06-05 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
Something or other, something or other--what was he saying? Wait, was that Jenny? Was Jenny spinning her around? Was that why she couldn't see straight that damn idiot no spinning no spinning

"What? Doors? What about them?!" she half-shouted back, still not exactly used to the sunlight and still without her sea legs...even though they weren't out at sea or anything. "Jenny, what the hell are you doing?!" she added, a little late, seeing as she asked after he let go of her. It occurred to her that the name "Jenny" was a lot stranger-sounding when said in reality as opposed to...typing it up on the laptop.

So she could be doing two things, actually. She could have been

a.) opening doors or
b.) wasting time online.

What a productive life it was they had here. Half from exasperation and mostly from temporary bad vision that she didn't admit to, Evelynne wobbled and sat down on the hot sand with a groan. "Why are we here again?"

[identity profile] europeancut.livejournal.com 2006-06-05 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
Shao reached the door just in time to hear Jenos pout about the use of the nickname Jenny. Something about Jenny being a girls name? Whatever. It didn’t matter to Shao what they called him. Secretly, he thought Jenny was a clever nickname.

“I’m here.” Shao announced pleasantly, before walking over to where Jenos stood. Placing a hand on Jenos’s shoulder as a silent warning of stupidity, Shao gave Evelynne and Amadeus a nod as a greeting. “Thank you for allowing us to come along, Amadeus, Evelynne.”

[identity profile] unbewildered.livejournal.com 2006-06-05 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
Another roll of the eyes--or an attempt at it while trying not to notice the sun--and Evelynne shook her head. Little details and technicalities about etiquette and all of that never really was her thing. She pulled her legs up close, wrapping an arm close to her knees with the opposite's hand shading her eyes.

It was just that hard to get a question answered these days.

"I hate to break up the Miss Manners party, but again. Why are we here?" She specifically targeted Amadeus with a semi-glare, an eyebrow quirked and a skeptical attitude in tow. Then again, she couldn't exactly expect him to answer such a straightforward question, now could she?

[identity profile] killer-sunshine.livejournal.com 2006-06-05 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
Sunny calmly poked her head through he door way, surveying the scene before taking off her shoes and setting her feet in the warm sand. She had heard the water was freezing, and there was no way in hell she was going swimming, but she had to admit a change in scenery -especially for Evelynne- was a good idea. After a quick wave hello to Amadeus, she slid up noiselessly next to Evelynne.

“Quit sulking,” the girl drawled irreverently, “You need a break”

[identity profile] europeancut.livejournal.com 2006-06-05 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
Jenos busied himself by unrolling beach towels, while silently fuming about his new nickname. Jenny. Why did everyone call him Jenny? He gave the towel an angry pat, before sitting down with a small pout. Shao only smiled, and sat down next to him. “It’s good to get out every now and then.” Shao said calmly, more towards Evelynne than anyone else.

At the sound of Sunny’s arrival, Jenos turned to face the girl. “Sunny~ You’re late!” He said, with a grin that replaced his previous frown.

[identity profile] unbewildered.livejournal.com 2006-06-05 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
"Hey, hold on a second here," Evelynne shot back, attempting to look like she could actually see Shao straight. "I don't ever see you getting out! I get out plenty! I'm never in a room for longer than two minutes!" She paused, considering whether that made any sense or not. Even if it didn't, she couldn't find the energy to care.

"Besides! I mean, it's not like I'm doing nothing. I get out plenty as it is," she insisted. "That's why I can actually, you know. Sleep at night. Because...err. Because I'm tired. From...from opening doors."

Oh, God. She wondered if this was really how idiotic she sounded all the time.

[identity profile] h-ammertime.livejournal.com 2006-06-05 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
"Beach time~" Slamming the door open Rabi attempted to squeeze through the small opening, a feat made more difficult with all the pool toys he'd blown up. Okay... maybe he should have waited till he was at the beach before he inflated the damn things. But he wasn't exactly famed for forethought.

After a long moment of muffled cursing and the shrill pitch of rubber being yanked past wood, the exorcist stumbled into the beach. What he saw was very disappointing.

"Heeeeey~ Why isn't anybody in the water?" And why wasn't anybody dressed for swimming? Rabi stood proud and prepared on the sand, with a fish themed eye patch and swimming shorts designed with tiny crosses.

[identity profile] unbewildered.livejournal.com 2006-06-05 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
Evelynne's first inclination was to respond with, "Because I can't see a damn thing," but that somehow didn't sound any smarter than anything she had said before. True, she had, by default, worn a swimsuit under her normal clothes. The question of whether she was going to tell anyone that, she knew the answer to already. Water? Swimming? Not in this kind of mood, thank you.

"Because we just got here, Rabi," she said instead, finally able to see well enough to distinguish the red hair and...the interesting choice in clothing (and what were all those inflatable things?). "And Amy doesn't swim. Can't say anything about the others though." With that, she looked at the assembled, biting her lip.

"We're not exactly a big crew, are we?"

[identity profile] h-ammertime.livejournal.com 2006-06-05 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
"Well... the smaller the group the more intimate it is!" Rabi pointed out with a wink. Besides, with the kind of mood Ev was in, a loud and large group was probably the last thing she wanted.

Lifting a shark floater off his collection, Rabi hooked it around Komui's neck. "I brought a friend. Hope you don't mind." He wrapped an arm around his superior's neck. "The poor guy needs a tan as you can see... why do you have that shirt on anyway?" ♥

[identity profile] unbewildered.livejournal.com 2006-06-05 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, so one more person. That brought them to a grand total of--seven. Well, it wasn't a bad number. Same number as the building they were in. Same number as the colors in the rainbow. Same number as how many Power Rangers were in--what was she thinking about this for again?

"Yeah, you need a tan alright," Evelynne confirmed, hoping she wouldn't be blinded by the sunlight off the white shirt. "You look like you--wait, hold on. I know you. Give me a second. I'll figure it out, I promise." At the rate her mind was working though, she imagined it would be a while before she could really figure it out.

[identity profile] h-ammertime.livejournal.com 2006-06-05 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
"Remembering later~ swimming first!" Approaching the beach, Rabi tossed the pool toys in and began kicking water at Komui, Ev and anyone within spray-able vicinity.

[identity profile] unbewildered.livejournal.com 2006-06-05 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
"Slow. Down," Evelynne said, shooting a glare in Amadeus' direction. "I have to figure out his name first. I know it. I swear I do."

She was pretty sure she knew anyway. It started with a L. Or maybe it started with a N. It was another one of those Japanese names, wasn't it? Or maybe it was--

"Holy shit," she hissed, suddenly very aware of cold water hitting her and standing abruptly upon realizing it. "Water. Cold water. Not cool." This time, she directed her attention to whoever it was that decided to kick up the water.

Names could wait. The redhead was going to get it.

[identity profile] h-ammertime.livejournal.com 2006-06-05 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
The expression on Evelynne's and Komui's face? Not good. As a seasoned fighter, Rabi knew when danger approached. With a wavering grin on his lips he quickly took a step back, then another, not stopping until he was waist deep and clinging to the octopus floater.

"It's real cold here, you guys! You don't want to come out this far!"

[identity profile] unbewildered.livejournal.com 2006-06-05 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, yeah, real cold. That was going to do it. Of course, Evelynne would stop as soon as she heard the words "real cold." Of course, it would suppress all thoughts of dunking Rabi into the ocean and forcing him to eat sand.

Not.

For what it was worth, Evelynne did run faster than she looked like she could. Rabi and that demented tentacle monster octopus inflatable were going to get it.

[identity profile] killer-sunshine.livejournal.com 2006-06-05 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"How the fuck am I late?" the girl mumbled indignantly as she stalked towards her neighbors. "I thought there were other people coming too. Where are they?"

She glared at the man as she unfurled a blanket and plonked down next to Shao, opening up a parasol.

[identity profile] europeancut.livejournal.com 2006-06-05 04:07 pm (UTC)(link)
"You just are!" Jenos replied with a grin. Never would he admit that teasing the assasin girl had become one of his new hobbies. It wasn't as fun as drinking, or flirting, but it had its perks. He slipped off his shirt, scrunched it into a ball, and threw it away before answering Sunny's question. "They're coming! They're just slow." Right as he spoke, two others had already arrived. "See?"

Shao only gave Sunny a small grin, and shrugged.

[identity profile] killer-sunshine.livejournal.com 2006-06-05 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
"Stupid answer from a stupid person...." Sunny grumbled. Delightful. Another person to tack onto the list of people who enjoyed poking fun at her. The list already included a fair majority of her co-workers, her partner and at least half the city. Ultimately, it wouldn't matter. They'd all respect her in the end. She'd make certain of it. If-- no-- when she'd become the head of the AG, she'd have the world at her feet, crying and apologizing, begging for mercy and all she'd have to do is snap her fingers and POOF! They'd be dead. She wouldn't have anyone killed of course-- the fear that she could do something like that was easily suffici-- Fuck.

Shao's slight smile momentarily threw a wrench in her mental gears, halting the near murderous thoughts that were running through her brain at the time. Dammit. That smile was a fucking weapon of the worst kind, since there was absolutely no defense for it. No one should have been allowed to do that, especially to her. It wasn't fucking fair. She turned away from him, pouting slightly.

On Hazard-san's cue, Sunny peeked out from the shade of her parasol at Komui and Rabi, the latter dressed more peculiarly than usual, with inflatable toys in tow. "Holy fuck...." she breathed. "What the fuck is Rabi-nii wearing?" The more she saw of that guy, the weirder and weirder he she swore he was. Nevertheless, if someone could succeed in cheering Ev-san up (or at least make her temporarily make her forget what had her down in the first place), he could do a better job of it than Sunny ever could.

"That's cruel!" Jenos gave a playful pout, and scooted under Sunny's parasol. He lowered his shades, to look at Sunny directly. "You think his swimsuit looks cool? What about mine?" He pointed down to his own swimsuit, coloured a gaudy bright green and blue. It wasn't something he would have usually chosen, but beggars couldn't be choosers. Something more manly, suave and cool was more his style. Jenos didn't think the suit was that bad, but it could have been better. Way better. The thought of swimsuits brought him to his next question. "Hey Sunny. You're not wearing a swimsuit! How will you swim?!"

Shao hadn't bothered to wear a swimsuit. Instead, he wore a large white shirt, with a pair of knee length pants. He had only come along as a distraction from his usual daily happenings. It seemed nobody (other than Jenos) knew what he did all day, and he wasn't going to change that. "Leave Sunny alone, Jenos. If she doesn't want to swim, she doesn't have to." Shao's voice was pleasant, with a slight amount of authority. While Jenos and Shao had the same level of authority within Chronos, Jenos decided to listen to Shao more often here, seeing how he was often the voice of reason. Nothing to do with authority, oh no. Jenos would never admit that at times, Shao scared him. The incident with the cyborg at Clarken Island wouldn't be forgotten anytime soon.

[identity profile] killer-sunshine.livejournal.com 2006-06-06 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
Sunny's eyes went wide as Jenos completely invaded her "bubble" of personal space, her trigger fingers itching beneath the light cotton gloves which shielded her hands from human contact.

"I never said it was 'cool'..." she replied flatly, staring him down while making quotation marks with her fingers. The temptation to give the older man a sound beating with her parasol tickled the back of her mind as her hands tightened around the handle. "...and as for yours..." the young assassin continued, "-- no comment." No violence to punctuate the sentence this time, but she swore if he got any closer, it would be a parasol to the head for the Chronos member.

Incidentally, she was wearing a swimsuit, though it was more out of practicality than any desire to swim. The Teases Tiki had sent out the other day had torn apart a fair majority of the contents of her undergarment drawer, so there really wasn't much else for her to wear. Under her white, crisp cotton jumper was one of the many swimsuits that B.B. had designed for her which he insisted she carry around, "just in case." Like all his fashion concoctions, it was on the teensy side; a pink two-piece, decorated with cherries and ruffles, that clung in all the right spots and emphasized all the right places the way only a custom piece of clothing could. His stuff fit so well it was almost creepy, really.

Sunny let out a little sigh of relief as Jenos backed off and she fished into her bag for her mp3 player and a book of sheet music.

>

[identity profile] europeancut.livejournal.com 2006-06-06 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
Shao watched Sunny as she took a book out of her bag. Judging by its cover, it was a music book. Opera music, Shao mused. While he wasn't a fan of opera music, Shao was still curious about it. He had mentioned it to her before, but the idea was still there. "Is that a music book Sunny?" He asked offhandedly, as if he wasn't expecting an answer. "Opera music?"

Now that he couldn't bother Sunny, Jenos had found other ways to amuse himself. It was the beach, and he was going swimming. "Come on Sunny! Amadeus! Lets go swimming!" He shouted as he dove into the water. Right when he hit the water, he knew it was a bad idea. He surfaced quickly, clamping his mouth shut to prevent the other two from discovering. He prepared a brave face, and turned back to wave.
