Summary; A somewhat awkward reunion between two sisters accustomed to fighting each other. One makes an offer that further proves the City can have strange effects on its citizens.
Log;
Shinku's new medium was acceptable. She was kind, she could make tea, and she possessed a mirror large enough to allow them both access into the N-Field.
The doll sat cradled in Fuyu's arms, the pair standing before the mirror. "My sister Suigintou is here as well, and we're going to enter the N-Field so that I can try and see her. As my medium, you have to come with me. Without you, I won't be able to stay in there longer than thirty minutes. Are you ready, Fuyu?"
Fuyu smiled, still overjoyed by the fact that one of her favorite characters had managed to fall right into her lap. "Fuyu is ready, Shinku!" She walked up close enough to the mirror for Shinku to touch it.
Shinku reached out a short arm, fingertips passing through the mirror. “Walk us the rest of the way, Fuyu. You can go right through.”
Fuyu stepped forward slowly, half thinking she must still be dreaming. The barren city of Suigintou's N-field slowly appeared before her, and she took a few steps inside, looking around. If anyone else had stepped in, they would probably have been scared, but Fuyu was too excited about living out her dreams to care.
Tayuya didn't know what she was supposed to expect. Over time she had gotten used to Suigintou's N-Field. The scenery had become familiar for her, and no longer unnerved her as it had the first few times. Standing beside the doll she waited, wondering exactly what was in store. If it came to a fight, Tayuya was always prepared for one of those. But... Suigintou said she just needed to talk. Well, the ninja would see how this went.
Suigintou nervously reached up a hand and grabbed onto Tayuya's. Never before had she felt anxiety before seeing her sister. Feeling the other doll arrive, she looked up at Tayuya and muttered, "she is here." She slowly stepped forward towards where she sensed Shinku.
“Put me down, Fuyu.” Shinku kept close to the medium, and called out, “Suigintou?”
Suigintou approached, emerging from the darkness that surrounded her N-field. Her voice flat, face expressionless, she answered, "Shinku."
The younger doll stepped away from her medium’s side and drew closer to the other doll. “I went looking for you, Suigintou.”
Suigintou stopped and squeezed Tayuya's hand. It was weird just talking to Shinku, rather then trying to torment her. Her words came as a bit of a shock. "You were?"
Tayuya stepped forward with Suigintou, looking the other one over. They were both delicate looking creatures, finely crafted and given life. She felt her own bond with Suigintou through the ring on her hand, not just the small and dainty hand in hers. Any other day she may have laughed at the picture she presented. A rough-and-tumble stocky young woman, dressed like a boy, accompanied by a beautiful doll. But laugh she did not. There was something... strangely serious and somber about this meeting.
“Yes. I was… concerned.” Shinku examined Suigintou’s medium for a moment, before turning back to face the other doll. “I sent Hollier first, but when he couldn’t find you, I came myself.”
"Oh..." was all Suigintou managed. She didn't quite know how to respond. Her sister showing concern struck her as...unusual. But it seemed like bringing up the fact that she did not wish to fight might be easier than she had expected.
Shinku noted Suigintou’s short reply. “How long have you been here?” she asked her.
"...I stopped counting." It finally dawned on Suigintou that she had stopped counting the time that they had been apart. Did she really not care about the Alice Game anymore? Deciding to bring it up with Shinku, her voice barely audible, she said, "I don't wish to fight anymore."
“You… you did?” Shinku asked, eyebrows raised. This was unlike Suigintou. Of all the dolls of the Rozen Maiden series, she was the one that cared most about winning. “But, why?”
Suigintou looked up at Tayuya, grateful that she was here for this, making it that much easier. "I have decided to make my own destiny. I do not have to become Alice."
Tayuya smiled, just a little, a twitching in the corners of her lips. "You're fine the way you are." She whispered, an encouragement, she supposed. Giving a shrug, she laughed lightly. "Besides, you can do whatever the hell you want, huh, forget rules."
Shinku ignored the other medium. “Suigintou that’s…” Unlike you, she thought, but did not say aloud. “If that’s what you want.”
Hesitating for a moment, Suigintou nodded. "It is. I am hoping that we can be...friends." She stared at the ground and blushed, knowing that the words coming out of her mouth must seem unusual to Shinku.
“… Friends?” The concept of friendship with another doll would not be so strange were the idea coming from one other than Suigintou. “I… suppose that wouldn’t be so bad.”
Suigintou felt a knot in her throat. Normally at this point the two would be fighting, calling each other names. She didn't know what else to say or do. She remembered the kiss that Tayuya gave and deciding it couldn't hurt, released her hand and slowly walked forward to face Shinku up close. She quickly pressed her lips against Shinku's and then stepped back, not entirely sure how the other doll would respond.
Tayuya had crossed her hands under her breasts when her hand had been released, watching the events. When Suigintou- Oh, fuck. Tayuya's palm hit her forehead. ... That had not been what she meant.
Shinku froze, eyebrows raised, and speechless.
Suigintou watched the other doll's expression, worried. "Friends?" she offered, unsure of what else to say.
“I suppose,” Shinku answered after regaining control of her expression. “Yes, friends.”
Suigintou slowly turned and walked back to Tayuya's side, gripping her hand again. "Then...if you need anything, you know how to find me." She offered a curtsy as a respectful gesture and waited to see if her sister would need anything else.
Shinku returned to her own medium, dipping into a small curtsey of her own as she turned to face Suigintou. “We should… have tea sometime. As… friends, yes?”
"Of course. I have some interesting tea partners you should meet, I'm sure you'll find their tea to be to your liking." As soon as they were out of sight and earshot of the other duo, she admitted, "that was...hard. I'm not used to getting along with my sisters."
"But you did it, huh?" Tayuya shrugged, still trying to figure out how the fuck to explain all this romantic and sex shit to Suigintou. ... Since she obviously did not quite understand it. "So what's next?"
"Now? I suppose...we go on doing as we please. Just...with one more ally than before." Floating up to where Tayuya could grab on, Suigintou found the door back into their apartment, slowly emerging from the shining surface back into the light of the room, a drastic change from the gloomy environment her N-field provided.
"Ally?" Tayuya followed, now used to the transition from N-Field back to the reality she knew. Would always know, as a dead inhabitant of the City. "We going to get in some fights?"
"If they come up, yes. But more...someone we can rely on if we need it. It's one quality Shinku has always had." Something that Suigintou had taken advantage of many times as well. But not anymore.
"Gotcha." Tayuya shrugged, rolling her shoulders and looking around the apartment. "Want me to try and make some tea, then?"
Suigintou paused to think for a second, and replied, "I think I would like...a fruit smoothie, if that is alright."
"Hell," Tayuya laughed, heading into the kitchen. "Works for me." And she was surprised to feel something that reminded her of a pulse, if only for a moment.
