When; January 28th, evening
Rating; PG
Characters; Rangiku and Gin
Summary; Bed rest is boring.
Log;
Even though she was still physically worn out, Rangiku wasn't anywhere near mentally tired enough to chance closing her eyes. Not after her forced 'sleep'. Still, she stayed still and quiet, one hand stroking soft silver hair. He was the last thing in her mind when she'd died and the first thing she'd seen when breath found her again. He'd been such a comfort while she'd tried to get used to breathing again, but she hated that he'd seen her so weak.
After a little while, when she was sure he was finally getting the sleep he needed, she carefully, slowly moved away from him, thinking she would try and get out of bed and go... somewhere...
Maybe the living room.

Feeling Ran moving away, one of his hands crept towards hers, grabbing it lightly as he sat up and faced her. "Somethin' wrong?"

With a soft sigh, she shook her head. "Nothing's wrong. I'm just... a little muzzled right now. I'd... forgotten how it was." She gave a push off of the bed, only to have her legs disagree that weight should be on them. With a muffled curse, she ended up heavily sitting back down on the bed.

Rather than argue that she should keep laying down, he offered, "I'll help y' up, jus' take it slow, alright?"

Her protest sounded hollow in her own ears.

Her mind had been wandering back to the fight that had killed her, and the odd dreams during her 'sleep'.

She allowed herself to be still for a moment before sitting back up, looking around the room.
"... where is she? She stopped talking to me during the fight..."

"I set her down 's soon as I got in. She's in th' other room." He scooted to the edge of the bed and leaned over, as if to get up. "Do y' want t' go see her?"

Ran wasn't expecting the cold sword. She was hoping for an the spirit inside, someone else to curl up with. Something else to help make her feel alive again. No matter how she called to her, Haineko didn't answer.
"... you probably think it's silly, worrying over a sword..."

Her lips curled into a tiny smile, one that could easily be missed if one wasn't looking. "She didn't talk to me at all at first. I kept talking and talking until she finally told me to shut up. She's been just as bad since then, the lazy thing..."

"I'm remembering more and more about the fight..."

His emotions settled, the talk of her fight didn't get to him as they did before. "Is it somethin' you want t' talk about?"
