Summary; Zaheela agreed to a date with greed, if only because he had said the magic words.
Log;

She was early, Zaheela knew this, but she wasn't one to be late if she could avoid it. She supposed the last time she had been late was when she was caught in fighting off the majority of Ghelsba Outpost, barehanded, only because some new recruits had thought it funny to moon the warchief of the area. She had only been scouting when they came scrambling down, screaming for help. Too bad for the orcs she was already in a bad mood.

However, there were no orcs to utterly humiliate here, so all her anger and frustration had stewed and simmered under the surface. Eventually she would of had to visit the forest where she heard monsters roamed, but for now, she decided to take a more sinful route. She agreed to go on a date with Greed, for some strange reason, and he had offered fish. If anything, she could not resist the lure that was sushi. No Mithra in their right mind could. The rawer, fresher, and least dead, the better, but it was proper manners to kill off your food before eating it anyways, so sushi would do.

Zaheela groaned as she leaned against the fountain, her thin shirt little protection from the winds. Inwardly she cursed her lack of heavier clothing, but it was too late to regret that now. She had a few lakes to demolish.

There was a sudden tap on her shoulder, followed by a familiar, smooth voice.

"Sup', babe? Gotta' say, ya' look awesome like this," Greed said, presenting a bouquet to her, "You ready to go?"

"Aw, ya' make it sound so clinical, Zah. I prefer to think of it as my 'circle of close friends'. I can't help it if there are so many girls who are lonely. I just do the best I can to help 'em out a bit."

He bent on one kneed and gently grasped her hand, then kissed it's top.

"And how about you, my fine, felinoid female? You've had a trying few days, eh? Don't you worry, I'm gonna' do the best I can to help ya' have a good time. I know just the place, right on the edge of the underground. No monsters or crime in the area."

"Well, they say straight from the waters in the ocean that surrounds the city, on the outskirts of the forest. Not like there are other places to import them from, after all."

He held out his arm and pointed forward through the city.

"Pretty good stuff. We're gonna' head this way, then just take a little side-trip to hit the underground."

"No problem at all," he said, leading the way. They walked through the city, across several back-alleys, and finally into one of the entrances to the underground. There was a noticeable architectural difference as soon as they entered, everything becoming darker and drabber. Yet over to the right, there it was. A shining beacon with a glowing sign that looked like something between a dragon and a fish.

"Bingo! In here!"

Greed led her in, where the hostess greeted them and led them to a privately curtained booth. Soy sauce and menus were put down in front of them, along with some fresh, warm handtowels.

"Right-o!" he said, nodding to the nearby waiter.

After the young, fresh-faced woman arrived, he began to rattle off orders.

"We're gonna' need 3 dragon boats. I also want 7 bottles of hot sake and an order of dragon roll, volcano roll, dynamite roll, half-baked roll, tsunami roll, california roll, deep tide roll...Ah hell, gimme one of every roll on the menu. Wouldn't mind some yakiniku, too."

"I enjoy so many things! I didn't just stay in Amestris. I traveled all over the different territories. We have the empire of Xing to the east. I went there and they had stuff similar to sushi. Different names, though. The country itself very nice. They appreciated the use of lavish inks and dyes and ornate architecture like the kind at the temple I stay at."

He was momentarily amused by her swishing tail, then focused back on her eyes.

"Damned if I know what any of the words on this list mean, but I know that I like the taste of most of it."

He grinned in realization and offered the dish, rearranging the table with one hand to make room for the meals to come. Afterward, he took a sip from it and set it down. He poured smaller dishes of soy sauce for the both of them.

"Sounds like you guys have a lot of different sentient species. My world has only humans. There's us too, but we don't really qualify as a species. We're more like an artifically induced aberration. Homunculi don't exist unless humans are doin' somethin' they shouldn't. We're just based on humans."

"I guess. I can't understand what he's sayin'," Greed shrugged, "I'll bet it's bad, though."

He peeked outside the curtain and spotted their boats arriving. With a small giggle, he pulled his head back inside and fidgeted in his seat.

"It's here! It's here! It's here!" he laughed to himself, practically salivating as the boats were placed down on the table, eclipsing most of it."

"You'd think he'd be glad for all the money I'm forkin' over to him."

Greed snatched dup several pieces of salmon and eel, popping 6 into his mouth. He chewed them happily and took a swig from his sake, then "dropped" his chopsticks.

"Oops! Stupid me! I'll just get those back."

He went under the table to pick up the sticks, taking a slight detour to check out her legs for a moment, then sat up again.

[identity profile] so-very-greedy.livejournal.com 2007-02-04 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
He cocked an eyebrow when he saw the look in her eyes, then grabbed the entire other boat and lifted it over his head, smallowing each of the rolls one after the other until it was empty.

"Ha ha! Beat that!" he said, pulling over the last boat.

And too bad Greed was known for being a pig. He reached into the air with his bare hands, taxing the muscles in his arms to catch as much as he could.

"Who will get more, I wonder?"

[identity profile] so-very-greedy.livejournal.com 2007-02-04 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
He immediately grabbed another sake bottle and shotgunned all of the contents, guzzling the hot liquid down.

"You're on babe. But let's wait till ALL the food gets here."

[identity profile] so-very-greedy.livejournal.com 2007-02-04 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
Greed was doing his best to match her pace, but wasn't quite as precise. He would sometimes miss, which would cause his opponent to capitolize on his mistakes. It soon became apparent he would need another approach.

"Ah ha!" he exclaimed, clashing his chopsticks against hers on the plate, "Time to step it up!"

[identity profile] so-very-greedy.livejournal.com 2007-02-04 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm gonna eat the dust, the chopsticks, the sushi, and maybe even the fuckin' plates!"

He continued with the barrage of counters and parries, trying his damnedest to get the upper hand. On the other hand, he really wanted that sake in the corner...

[identity profile] so-very-greedy.livejournal.com 2007-02-04 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh my god, it's an earthquake!" he exclaimed, knocking the bottom of the table with his knee hard enough to rattle the sake and plates, sending the piece into the air over the table.

"Ah ha!" he said, stabbing upwards for the piece, "Lucky chance!"

[identity profile] so-very-greedy.livejournal.com 2007-02-04 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
In what must have looked like a great white launching out of the water for a seabird, Greed kicked off slightly with his toes.

"Miiiiiiiine!"

Hers chopsticks closed around the sushi, unfortunately Greed's mouth closed around the chopsticks, effectively severing them. He fell back to his seat, his tongue rolling out to deposit the roll on his plate.

"Oh yeah! I'm the man!"

[identity profile] so-very-greedy.livejournal.com 2007-02-04 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
"I got it!" Greed said, giving the manager a thumbs up and going to the floor. He began to eat up the sushi that had fallen on the floor, snorfing it up like a boar.

He peeked his head up for a moment and looked around.

"Anyone else want this?"

[identity profile] so-very-greedy.livejournal.com 2007-02-04 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
Finishing up whatever fish he could find, he stood again and downed to bottle of sake. He walked up to the manage and held his hand in a friendly manner.

"How much do I owe ya', pal?" he grinned. The manager talked/yelled with him for several moments, until Greed managed to placate him with a large roll full of currency.

"So," he said to Zaheela, "About done?"

[identity profile] so-very-greedy.livejournal.com 2007-02-04 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
Greed marched out right after her, emptying an entire bowl full of mints into his pocket on the way out. Not like they'd miss them, anyway. Outside, he saw her shaking, giggling body under the lights.

"Glad to see you're havin' a good time," he said as he walked over to offer his hand to her, "Now ya' ready to head back?"

[identity profile] so-very-greedy.livejournal.com 2007-02-04 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
"Guess that's for next time, eh?" he called, chasing after her, "Maybe next time we'll have a more private one?"

[identity profile] so-very-greedy.livejournal.com 2007-02-04 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll see what I can do, but I think money wins out in the end," he said after her, "You'll see! I haven't shown you everything in this city, yet!"
