Log: Complete
When; February 5, late afternoon
Rating; G
Characters; Naoto [
naoto_two] & Nill [
caged_song]
Summary; Naoto decides to give the newly arrived Nill a tour of the City, to explain to her its mechanics, to show her the interesting places, and hopefully to rekindle her memories of the people and places she'd forgotten when she'd left months before.
Log;
Naoto was sure that the easier smile on her face and the new spring in her step was due to Nill's arrival. The little girl was such a welcome sight in the face of everything that the swordswoman had endured thus far, and she was determined to spend more time with her this go around.
Katana secured to her belt and scarf wrapped snugly around her neck, the woman stepped into the bedroom she now shared with Nill, eyes seeking the angel. "Nill? Are you ready?" she asked, a smile on her lips.

The girl had noted Naoto's warning to bundle up, but there was one problem...she couldn't find anything to bundle up with. After a period of deep-thought she ended up with either bringing along a blanket or a scarf, Nill proceeded with the latter.
Blue eyes brightening as the blade maiden walked stepped through the doorway, she nodded in reply. She was as ready as she was going to be.

Smiling, Naoto held her hand out to the mute girl. "Let's go, then. We'll buy you a coat while we're out."

What about her wings? It would be hard to find clothes that fit...wouldn't it? They would be a bit troublesome...well...if there was a sewing kit nearby that could be taken care of...so maybe that wasn't much of a problem then...But what about the money? Clothes costed money...How would she ever be able to replay Miss Naoto? She shook the thought off. All that can be decided later...First thing's first, enjoy the day!
Nill tucked the scarf around her neck a little bit tighter incase it slipped. The angel girl was ready to go.

"We're going to teleport, okay?" the woman told the girl as they approached the large machine. "Just hold onto my hand and don't let go."
With a reassuring smile, she stepped onto the center platform of the machine and pressed the pad on its inside. In the blink of an eye, the beach surrounding changed into the familiar City landscape.

The teleport was even more surprising. The scenery had changed so fast, the girl could do no more than gape. Sure...there must have been similar devices back home...but they probably resided in the labs that she had come from...Nill was sure she did not want to go back there to find out.
The mute was slightly overwhelmed, Uwaaa... at least it seemed safer than the Underground...

And there it was, suddenly, standing brightly amidst the darkening sky. Even from the outside, Naoto could smell the delicious treats that invited them inside. She looke down at the girl attached to her hand. "Here we are. Café Juliet. It's a little different than when you were here last, but it's still a great place to meet friends and eat."
She led Nill inside.

Inside, the sweet smells wafted all around her, tickling her senses. Nill's wings raised up mirroring her emotions. No wonder this was a good place to meet friends and eat...there were so many yummy-looking treats! Maybe she should try making one of those pastries...it would make a good thank you gift...
Naoto led till to a table that was seated next to a window and Nill seated herself slowly, careful not to bump her wings against the chair.

A waiter stopped by their table asking for their order.
"A slice of apple pie," the woman replied, folding her menu, "and two mugs of hot cocoa, please." She looked over at her little friend. "Nill? Show him what you'd like."
no subject
"Mkay, so one strawberry shortcake, a slice of apple pie, and two mugs of cocoa. I'll be back shortly with your orders," the waiter left the table to go fulfill the waiter-ing duty.

He looked out the window at the passersby. "I've been here for over five months. Stuck here. I went back once before, but I had to come here again. I don't know if I can make it back to our world." Suddenly realizing how depressing the topic was, she smiled at the girl again. "Sorry, I shouldn't really be talking about that right now... Has anyone told you about the City yet?"

Nill followed Naoto's gaze to the people that passed in front of their window, it was kind of a mesh of colors and it reminded her a bit of home...of the waiting at the church steps for Haine's visits. The girl turned back and watched the swordswoman's face as she mentioned home. The topic did kind of make her a bit remorseful, her wings sagged a little bit.
Miss Naoto had been here for over five months...that was a long time...it seemed a bit...painful. She wanted to reach out and hold her hand...or even be so bold to give the woman a hug. Nill was here now, and she would make sure she would be around when Naoto needed her.
The next topic wasn't as depressing. The City. She nodded again, but held up her fingers as if she was about to pinch something. She hadn't known much.

"Now," she said, folding her hands in her lap, "shall we buy you a coat?"

The mute quickly finished the last bite of her strawberry shortcake, which had been incredibly delicious. Back home sweets were a rare treat since they were only for super special occasions...which were rare enough. Come to think of it...the girl didn't really know anyone's birthday (which were the typical special occasion where treats were usually offered)...she didn't even know her own.
She gave an eager nod to her companion, that she was ready to be off.

"Oh, by the way," she said, looking over her shoulder at the girl following her, "my friend's birthday is tomorrow. She's the woman who is letting us stay with her and her crew on their ship. We have to bring her out here tomorrow morning while Sanji-san, Zoro-san, and Luffy decorate the ship. Let's buy her a birthday present."
Soon the store was right in front of them, and Naoto held the door open for Nill to enter.

She followed Naoto closely, her mouth formed a small 'oh' and gave a nod in return. Someone's birthday was tomorrow! What present should they get?
Before she could come up with any ideas, the two had arrived, and Nill stepped through the door, making sure to give a quick nod of thanks to Naoto for holding the door open.
Once again, she was embraced by warmth, but this time...there was more. Coats! Everywhere. Maybe they could get a coat as a birthday present too...

She too turned towards the variety of clothes, not really with the intent to buy but just to browse.

A movement at her side brought Naoto's gaze to an awaiting Nill. The girl held a coat of her own in her slim arms, and she was looking up at the woman expectantly.
"Let's get this for Robin, hmm?" She showed the girl the choice apparel.
no subject
Hopefully Miss Robin would agree.

"Here, let's see how this looks on you." The woman bent down to help her friend put it on, then stood back to admire. "It looks very nice," she complimented, smiling. "And now you won't be cold, either."

Nill hugged the swordswoman, brimming with happiness. The day had been wonderful. There had been sweet things to eat and presents gotten, those were simple signs of a good day's work. She was a little tired though, the neverending excitement of the City was just a bit tiring...and it was time to go back to the Going Merry.
The two left the coat shop and went back to the ship at a leisurely place. The City hadn't seemed that scary.
