Summary; A grownup Peter asks Namine to join him for a picnic because the girl really is too cute for her own good.
Log;
It wasn't an overly extravagant lunch by any means; though on second thought, the lemoncake had to come, but it didn't matter. It was far too nice a day to spend huddled up indoors anyway, and that was the important thing. After all of the snow and cold winds, it was wonderful to finally catch sight of some sunlight.
And what better way to do it than by having a picnic? Not that his company wasn't enviable by any means. Namine really was a darling, if nothing else, Peter enjoyed making the girl embarrassed. Basket slung over one shoulder and blanket draped across the opposite arm, the man left his apartment, decending the stairs two at a time as he made his way to building 12. What room was it she was in? Some large number...900- something. Yes yes, 998.
Enthusiasm made the walk shorter than it was and once in front of her door, he knocked politely.
It was shaping up to be quite the day.

"I-I'm coming," she called out nervously. She suddenly felt very scared, and very warm. If she had a heart, it would be beating fast, faster.
She ran a brush through her limp blond hair and smooth out her skirt, do anything to make herself more presentable. But then she bit her lip, wondering if she'd made him wait too long.
She walked quickly to the door and threw her hair back over her shoulder. She was trying not to look nervous, but she was fighting a losing battle.
It's all right. It's Peter, she reminded herself. Your friend.
...your friend who's all grown up and...v-very handsome now.
She swallowed and opened the door, smiling as brightly as she could.
"Hi, Peter," she said. "Thanks for inviting me. I-I really appreciate it."

And had she just stuttered?
Oh Namine really, really was too sweet for her own good. An easy smile spread played on his lips, and Peter leaned down to press a soft kiss to the girl's cheek. "I should be the one thanking you, to grant me your company for lunch." He took a small step back, politely putting distance between them. It would be rude to crowd her after all- and one brow arched with a gentle grin.
"You look lovely." His voice was soft, but allowed no room for debate. Instead Peter shifted the blanket to rest over his shoulder as he offered Namine his arm. "Shall we?"

Maybe she would be lucky, and wouldn't have to talk for the rest of the picnic.
Then he kissed her cheek.
It took a while for Naminé to process it, the feeling of lips against skin. She didn't dare to breathe, or think, or move.
She didn't hear everything afterwards correctly. Something about him being thankful and saying he was happy she would go with him and she looked lovely?
She knew she was very close to dying of happiness. She didn't know what to say, though, and simply smiled.
She entwined her arm in his, and somewhere she knew: she'd follow him to the end of the world. All he had to do was ask.
ooc; Omg. This only took so long because the Nami muse seriously melted. Leave it to Peter. That flirt. xD

until she'd smiled.
It had always been a weakness of his, he had to admit. Peter had never liked seeing anyone sad, and as such he did his best to make those around him feel otherwise. And yet, every once in awhile, something he did drew out one smile in particular- that always made his chest feel fluttery. The same smile that Namine had just given him.
And the gentle pressure of a hand on his arm was all it took for Peter to blink back to the present as he lead her away from the buildings, a leisurely stroll towards the forest, but close enough to spread out on lush grass. Polite conversation would give them something to do in the meantime.
"Do you live all on your own up there Namine?"
ooc; pfft. Peter would have to be like that to everyone to be a flirt. He's only flirting with Namine XD But hey, that last line? Totally killed me back. ♥

"...Kairi lives with me," she said when he asked his question. There was a small smile on her lips. "I wish you could have seen her. But she was away today. She said she was looking for..."
Sora. She couldn't say it. She didn't want to think about how Sora may have gone home, how he might left them behind. She was with Peter, and so she knew she was happy.
"I-I'm not alone," she finished, lightly. "I hope you're not, either?"
ooc; HEE. It's seriously too cute though. Nami can hardly compose herself. This is Peter-who-now-looks-like-Heath-Ledger we're talking about here. xD
Did it? Awww. I thought it was a little on the cheesy side, but YAY. ♥

The way she trailed off at the end however, did not escape his attention, though Peter knew better than to say anything of it. "It's alright, I'm sure I'll be able to meet her eventually. Besides, I was looking forward to spending time with you." He flashed her his best charming smile and hoped it eased whatever shadow it was that had momentarily crossed her face.
"I'm glad you aren't alone. I live with Wendy and Leon, though unfortunately I haven't seen much of either of them lately. Still, I suppose you're only as alone as you feel? Just because I can't always see them doesn't mean I'm alone~"
The forest's edge came into sight and Peter paused, allowing her to release his arm before spreading out the blanket for them. "But you have other friends here as well, right?"
no subject
"I think you're right," she said agreeably. "If you're with friends, you're never really alone."
She paused for a moment as she let go of Peter, surprised at how much she wanted the contact back.
"...Riku's here, and Roxas and Olette, too," she said, thinking of the friends she knew before, and the friends she made in the City. "And Elena. She's like my big sister. There's Nell, too. She's drawn with me before."
no subject
"I'm glad, that you have friends from your world then. Though in a way, this City is a blessing, to be able to meet so many people I would never have had the pleasure to know otherwise. Like you, Namine."
Through it all, Peter's gaze had remained fixed on her hand with quiet curiosity. Without thinking, he lifted it, almost as if examining each finger, smiling softly. As great an artist as she was, it was a wonder her hands remained so soft.
With an idle smile he closed the distance, pressing a tender kiss to the pad of her index finger. "How long have you been drawing Namine?"

"I...I remember not liking it here very much. But the people are nice. And I heard stories about you," she said, "but I'm so happy I met you."
She didn't know how much more of this she could take. It was all so wonderful, and she felt the happiest she had been in a long time. And she didn't know how to thank Peter for bringing her here, for saying such nice things to her.
Her cheeks felt like they were on fire when he kissed her finger, but then she remembered he'd asked a question. "I-I've known how since I was born," she said, the stutter coming back. "B-But I do like it now."
no subject
Truth be told he did feel oddly protective of her, though the reasons behind it were so muddled that he wasn't fool enough to try to guess at why. Still, he'd always marveled at her kindness, the way she managaged to be so perfectly sweet despite everything. And through it all, this girl had no idea how extraordinary she was.
Hoping to spare her further embarrassment, Peter lowered her hand though he didn't relinquish his hold. Instead, fingers laced idly together and he offered her a soft smile. "Since you were born? That's quite the gift but- what do you mean you like it now? Did you not before?"

But he was still the same, still charming, and he was still her friend who took her on picnics and held her hand and asked her about things...nicely.
"Sometimes people asked me to draw things," she said sadly, with difficulty. "Things that...made lies seem real. I...I can change memories when I draw, and..."
She didn't want Peter to think she was a monster. To think she was a witch. She bit her lip and looked away.
"I...I'm sorry."
no subject
On instinct alone, his grip on her hand tightened reassuringly- head tilting in an attempt to catch a glimpse of her face and his voice remained soft. "Namine- you have nothing to be sorry about. If you can do all that...then it's apart of who you are. Don't think it will make me care for you any less- alright?"
