Log;

In all his life, Jowy had never seen a celebration quite like the one occuring out in the city today. Having lived most of his life in the backwater town of Kyaro near the borders of Highland and Jowston, he could only dream of the kind of festivities that could have occured in the beautiful streets of Highland's capital, L'Renoulle. The change of scenery was good. The consecutive curses had certainly done a number on not only him but Frey himself... Certainly, they deserved to lay back and celebrate like the young men they were and what better way than to indulge in a little drinking? After all, Jowy told himself, he wasn't really going to drink himself into a stupor!

And it was the first time in months he'd felt so well. Ever since he'd come to the city -- ever since he'd decided to use the Black Sword to restrain the Beast Rune -- he'd never felt quite as whole but now, though slightly weak, he felt so much... better. Wonderful, actually. It was like he was allowed to become a normal person again. And the weather, though cold, no longer bothered him so much. It was truly a wonderful feeling.

His newly found comfort in regards to the weather allowed him to dress rather stylishly for the celebration. No longer wrapped overly in warming clothes, he wore a suit similar to the ones he wore back in Highland, though thicker. It made him feel rather proud of himself.

Frey was waiting for him at the fountain, so he made his way towards the landmark, watching out for the familiar head of silver hair.

It seemed like ever since he arrived at this city, Kyle was forever following Frey around someplace. Granted, he'd only been in the city for 3 weeks tops, but it was the principle of the thing! And he couldn't help it if there were certain things this time around to distract him. He was only human, after all. How could he not stop to look when so many hot babes were lifting up their shirts, all in an act to get a little string of beads.

Tearing his eyes away from yet another enthusiastic girl, Kyle grinned as he fingered the beads around his own neck. He'd gotten them from some random person who had been above them, throwing the things out their window. Still grinning and now adding a little whistle to his cheer as well, the blonde ex-knight took off the string and began to secretly tie it to the end's of Frey's hair. Other people had been doing it, so why not him?

"So where we meeting up with this Jowy guy anyway?" he asked, using the conversation as a means of distraction.

It was an odd celebration, but not unpleasant other than the rather odd custom of women…lifting their shirts for beads. Frey himself had collected a modest wreath of them, they were cute until you realized what they were for. And even now he had a few strands dangling from his hair. Kyle currently adding to the collection. Thankfully they were made of rather lightweight material and he was so used to having his hair played with be it at the hands of one of his family members or someone else. The length and the rare shade of silver seemed to be ever fascinating to others. The beads added a rather festive touch probably, so no harm and it wasn’t as if there’d be much to see if he lifted his shirt.

“By the fountain he’d suggested… and I’d already told you that but I think you were too busy eyeing one of the enthusiastic ladies. He tossed his head slightly, freeing his hair from Kyle’s gentle grip, the beads that hung from his hair rustling together in an odd kind of symphony. He peered at Kyle over his shoulder with a slight teasing grin, “Does that mean I’m supposed to bare my chest for you?” He would have suggested Kyle waste the bauble on some passing woman but it wasn’t as if the blonde needed any more encouragement in such an area and he’d like to meet up with Jowy before the festivities were over.

[identity profile] rouge-knight.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 06:36 am (UTC)(link)
"Right. Fountain," Kyle repeated, nodding to show that he had been paying attention. This time anyway. The last time would have been rude to just ignore someone so friendly. And it was a good idea to make new friends, as Frey had done. Kyle needed to make sure he did just as well and it was so much easier with those who were friendly first.

Grinning as Frey took back his hair and teased him back lightly, Kyle vaguely wondered if the Prince actually knew that what he'd just said could be counted as mildly flirting. ... Okay, yeah right. The Prince wouldn't know flirting if it bit him right in the face. He had been able to act normal around Jeanne after all, and that woman was a fine a flirt as any.

"Normally, I'd say you should do as the natives do, but I'm not sure it'd be a good idea with all these women around to see the sight as well."

[identity profile] dawn-shower.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 06:54 am (UTC)(link)
Frey laughed lightly at that, “There’s not much to see, Kyle.”

Seeing Jowy up ahead Frey sped up slightly, making his way towards the fountain. Jowy was dressed differently from usual. It had only been a few days since he’d sealed off the rune in his deal with Siran but he could already see the difference. Jowy looked healthier, happier, more alive whereas before he seemed to constantly sway from side to side on that brink of death. And he was dressed for the festivities too it seemed.

Frey had chosen to opt not to wear his usual armor either, or any of the clothes from home. It was a celebration after all, a chance to be festive. And while Frey didn’t understand the concept of “fashion” very well, let alone what it meant in a place where worlds clashed he did know what to wear to look appropriate given his standing. The tunic was similar to the one he wore when he traveled incognito but far more luxurious, made of dark red silk that faded to hues of orange. With his hair pulled up in a loose ponytail and the multicoloured beads spilling from it, Frey looked very much like someone in the midst of celebration. Given the past string of curses there wasn’t much to celebrate but there was no use lamenting things done anyways.

“Come on, I’ll introduce you two…since you’ve never met properly.”

[identity profile] rouge-knight.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 08:30 am (UTC)(link)
That had not exactly been what Kyle was expecting. Not that he knew what to expect exactly, but having someone go down on one knee and greet Frey with all the bells and whistles attached to his name was on the bottom rung of things he'd expected to hear. And the laughter at the end? Yeah, not helping things become any clearer either.

It was safe to say that Kyle was at a loss of what to say or do. Well, he could cancel out a few things he could have done, but for the most part, his mind was a blank on what to say or what action to take. After all, the last time he'd met the guy, he'd been fighting the Prince and had tried to turn them into human-sized skewers.

After staring for a moment in confusion, Kyle nudged Frey's side with his elbow and leaned down to whisper in his ear, breath ghosting lightly over the shell as he spoke. "Uh... Prince. I think this guy might have started the party without us."

[identity profile] dawn-shower.livejournal.com 2007-02-21 09:18 am (UTC)(link)
If not for Kyle’s comment Frey would have been able to keep a straight face, maybe deliver some mocking honours of his own. As things worked out he just turned into Kyle’s whisper, lips pressing together tightly to stop the small laugh from escaping. “I think he’s playing,” he whispered back, face almost dangerously close to the blonde’s though he barely noticed.

“Won’t you rise, Lord Jowy? Unless you’ve become my sworn knight without my knowledge,” he replied in good humor. He refrained from using any titles that might dredge up unpleasant memories. After all it was only recently that Jowy had been in such high spirits.

“Kyle, this is Jowy. He helped me out a lot when I first arrived in the City, he’s a dear friend to me. Jowy, this is Kyle he’s…” Frey trailed off, only for a moment but it was noticeable. Strange, that he could no longer call Kyle a knight. “One of my closest and dearest friends, he’s known me a long time. …and he is an unstoppable womanizer.”

[identity profile] rouge-knight.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
"It's just Kyle," he restated, taking the offered hand. "It's not like I'm a knight or anything. Just a womanizer, if you believe what the Prince says about me." It still stung a little that Frey had dismissed him the way he had, but it wasn't quite as bad as it might have been had it only been a few months earlier and during the middle of the war. He had been planning on turning in his knight title anyway. Still though... It wasn't like anything was going to change. He didn't need any official title to justify his actions. It was just convenient, is all.

"And as long as you don't try any of that rune stuff again, I don't see why we can't just put it behind us," he finished with a grin. Even though he might have said it casually, there was still that small part of Kyle that was protective and wary. It was natural after all. He knew what runes could do, had seen it firsthand with his own two eyes even. Could anyone really fault him for having just the slightest mother-henning instincts when they were stuck in a strange city with people from the future no less?

[identity profile] dawn-shower.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
“Just a womanizer? Really, Kyle I thought it was quite a compliment to call you an ‘unstoppable womanizer.’ If you’d asked someone else they might have just said hopeless,” Frey quipped teasingly. Having Jowy call Kyle “sir” was a bit strange, bit uncomfortable but there was no way the other teen could know what had transpired there. No matter, it wouldn’t do to linger on somber topics, not when there was a celebration happening in full force.

“Well now that the introductions are out of the way, shall we go get ourselves some drinks? After all I have a challenge to answer,” Frey smiled warmly at Kyle, not that it would make up for what he’d done but it was all that he could offer right now. Knight or not Kyle was someone that had been with him all along, through it all and he treasured him for that not the duties he’d held as a Queen’s Knight.

[identity profile] rouge-knight.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
"That sounds like a great idea!" Kyle agreed cheerfully, slapping Jowy on the back. He remembered that game. He also remembered getting completely drunk when playing it because of all the things he'd done. People were right when they called him a hopeless womanizer, but yet he still managed to find ways to charm all the girls he went after. It didn't always mean he stole someone's girlfriend, or one those rare, rare, once in a blue moon occasions, boyfriend, but it just tended to happen a with a lot more frequency than with most other people.

"Lead the way and lets get drinking!"

[identity profile] dawn-shower.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
“With a game like that I wonder who will lose,” Frey shook his head laughingly as he followed the two blondes. Alcohol was readily available at every corner today so it wasn’t hard to find a place and spot. Strings of beads, smears of icing, the stench of alcohol and vomit, it was nothing like any of Frey’s past drinking experiences. He didn’t mind though as they sat down with three shot glasses and a healthy sized bottle of alcohol. It was…different, but not bad at the very least he was no less comfortable with Kyle and Jowy as he had been drinking with Ferid and Sialeeds.

“Hm…who goes first?”

[identity profile] rouge-knight.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
Grinning, Kyle shot Frey a smug look. He had never been subjugated to having to wear a dress, he was a little too masculine looking, even with his long hair, for any girl to take an interest in making him wear anything else. The Prince however...

"Pass."

[identity profile] dawn-shower.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
It would have been surprising if Frey didn’t have to drink for that comment. Honestly between Miakis and Lym it was more than once, though he hadn’t since he’d been 12 or so. Pouring himself a shot Frey downed the alcohol easily, setting the glass back down as he pondered what he could use as payback. While it was Jowy that had brought that up Kyle still had that smug little grin…

“I’ve never peeked into a women’s bath.”

[identity profile] rouge-knight.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
Raising an eyebrow, Kyle could help but lean over and tease Jowy lightly for his troubles. Sure, he'd have to take a shot himself, several if anyone wanted to go by how many times he'd done it, but it was always more fun to see who he could pick on in their embarrassment. He was shameless and at least admitted to it.

"Bet you enjoyed it though, am I right? Accident or not, there's just something about seeing a naked female, huh?" he pestered lightly, teasing grin on his face and in his tone. Pouring himself a shot though, Kyle quickly down it before giving Jowy another teasing grin. "Nothing wrong with saying so. We're all healthy young men here."

Since it was his turn now, Kyle thought for a moment before picking his choice. "I've never blushed when looking at a woman's breast."

[identity profile] dawn-shower.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
“…it was Kisara,” Frey murmured as he took his shock. Given his family members women’s breasts generally didn’t faze him but Kisara... she was a special case. And he felt bad for looking but it was quite difficult to focus on her face when they were…right there. He did get used to it…after a while. It just didn’t help when Subala or someone pointed it out.

[identity profile] rouge-knight.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
"Girls like the braided hair though!" Kyle protested, even as he poured himself a drink. He was very well aware that his long hair was braided at the end, with the extra parts also gathered up as well. But how else was he supposed to keep it controlled. Sides, it was almost like a part of the whole uniform. That and oversized bows.

[identity profile] dawn-shower.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
“They do?” Frey asked curiously as he took his own drink. “I just find that if I don’t braid it people play with it,” he commented as he toyed with a string of beads that had been woven into his hair. “Mm…I’ve never seen a naked woman in person?”

[identity profile] rouge-knight.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
"We have got to fix that somehow Prince," Kyle stated solemnly. He understood why of course, but there was no time like to present to change things. Now if he could just find a nice girl that wouldn't mind... That... might take a while. Better to drag him off to the nearest bath then.

"I've never trained with a non-bladed weapon before."

[identity profile] dawn-shower.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
“Lym wouldn’t be too happy about that…” Any woman Frey might have been interested in would no doubt have to fight for his attention with his sister, and then receive a seal of approval from various other individuals. Furthermore anyone he met in the City would be impossible to develop into anything if he had any intention of returning home. It just seemed like more trouble than it was worth.

“Cheap shot, Kyle,” Frey chided idly as he drank another shot. All of them seemed pretty much even as far as how much they’d imbibed.

[identity profile] rouge-knight.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 05:43 am (UTC)(link)
"To each his own. I wouldn't want to fight some people I've seen anyways," Kyle stated. "But I think we can all agree with the pet thing." He'd never had a pet. Never had the time or the ability to, not that even if he did, he would. He hadn't the interest in having one either. And Kyle knew that Frey had never had a pet either. The beavers were allies and fishes were for eating.

It went on this way for a while, which the questions getting sillier and a little more risky with each passing round. It wasn't until all three were fairly intoxicated that Kyle even thought to start asking the more personal or embarrassing questions, earlier ones about breasts aside.

"I've never had more than one chick going after me and saying no," Kyle stated proudly, not exactly thinking perfectly clear at the moment.

[identity profile] dawn-shower.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
Frey finished his shot, wiping his mouth slightly. They’d gone through a good amount of alcohol now and he was definitely feeling the effects, face flushed and he could feel a slight tiredness set into his body. When he used to drink with his father and Sialeeds it was easy to pretend to drink, bring the glass up to his lips, talk to keep them distracted. He had a decent tolerance but he couldn’t compete with those monsters. This time it was very clear how much each of them had…one, two…twenty, it kept going.

He frowned slightly for a moment, concentrating trying to find something to pick at for Kyle. “Hmph, and I’ve never had several women go after me and said yes to all of them!” The statements were getting increasingly targeted, to the point it was almost just plain silly.

[identity profile] rouge-knight.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 06:09 am (UTC)(link)
"Now you're both just picking on me," Kyle whinned as he refilled his glass, somehow hand remaining steady enough so as not to spill. Much. One shot and then another. Slamming the last one down on the table, Kyle couldn't help but stare at Jowy. There was something that wasn't connecting in his brain about that last statement. The kid had seen breasts and a naked woman right? But he still hadn't had sex? Did that mean that he didn't even like women?

"Yo Jowy. Don't you want to have sex with a chick? I mean, you're attractive enough that I can't figure out why you wouldn't have."

Even as he was talking to Jowy, Kyle was paying attention to what kind of action Frey would take, though he was fairly certain of what it would be, he could be sure, as his arrival had been on a rather strange day. And the Prince had disappeared for a while there... But he still couldn't be certain either way. He was more inclined to believe that nothing had happened though.

[identity profile] dawn-shower.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
“Pass for me,” Frey responded with a slight smile, perhaps just the slightest bit giddy from the alcohol. That and he was lying. But it was better not to be truthful about this question, really that would just lead to…many things. Mostly people freaking out and having to talk about it. And if he had it his way they would never find out anyways. His fingers traced the lip of an empty bottle. It made his finger a bit sticky but it wasn’t as if they hadn’t spilled some already on their hands when they’d gotten over excited.

He brought his hand to his mouth thoughtfully, licking away the stickiness, “So…who’s turn is it?” He’d lost track though the game probably wouldn’t last too much longer. Jowy…was drunk? And maybe himself too, a little anyways.

[identity profile] rouge-knight.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 06:39 am (UTC)(link)
"That's all the more reason you should have slept with her!" Kyle stated earnestly. Shaking his head, though he was a bit relieved at hearing Frey say that he'd have to pass on the sex thing, the blonde ex-knight wondered what was it about the youth of today that made them so...so... prudish? What ever happened to sneaking around? To fooling around? To experimenting? Granted the thought of the Prince fooling around made him just a little bit more light-headed than before, but Sialeeds hadn't minded. True she was older, but Frey was still just as pretty.

...

Okay, Kyle would have to admit that he was drunk now. You were not supposed to think of those kind of things about your Prince, the nephew of the aunt you had a sorta-relationship with.

"I think we might want to end the game here," Kyle stated, shaking his head again to clear it of his last thoughts and standing up. "Jowy, you just went and we really need to find someone for you to teach you why necking and kissing are fun. And Prince? I'd say more, but I don't want to end up dead whenever we get back home."

[identity profile] dawn-shower.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
“So soon? No one’s passed out yet,” Frey commented mildly though really he did agree. The statements were getting to the point where it was hard to tell if they were targeted to anyone or made any sense.

He thought for a moment on Kyle’s comment. Necking and kissing… It was a good thing his face was already flushed, else his thoughts might have shown, curse his pale complexion. It had been…pleasant. But Frey wondered if it might have been different, better if he’d done it with someone he was more familiar with. He told himself he wouldn’t regret but it didn’t prevent lingering thoughts and newly awakened curiosity. “I just…wasn’t interested before,” he murmured quietly, barely audible.

Loose lips, it was time to quit before he let slip that he’d lied on that last one. “I guess you’re right. It’s getting late too anyways. Shall we walk you home, Jowy?”

[identity profile] rouge-knight.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
Kyle hadn't heard anything Frey had said, though he notice the royal move his lips softly. Curious, but not enough to question, the blonde just shrugged it off. And Jowy depressed him a little. The kid really should have tried to lighten up and not be such a downer, especially when drunk. Alcohol only enhanced emotions after all.

"Come on kiddos. Lets get going home before your curfews," Kyle teased, grinning with the warmth of the drink and a fun game. Putting a hand on each of their shoulders, the older man began directing the other two outside where, hopefully, the cooler air would clear all their heads a little.

[identity profile] dawn-shower.livejournal.com 2007-02-22 07:31 am (UTC)(link)
“Of course,” Frey replied agreeably, letting Kyle guide them out of whatever place they’d wandered into. His steps were still steady though he had to take a moment to orient himself when they stepped out. Strange, he would have expected the night air to be cool but it barely felt like any difference, the alcohol still causing that low burn. He pressed a hand against his own cheek but it did nothing to cool him down, well at least it wasn’t unpleasant.

“It’s not too far from where you live, it’s no problem,” Frey assured with his usual smile, usual sweetness.
