[Log] [Ongoing]
When; February 20 [Mardi Gras] [afternoonish]
Rating; PG-13 [so far]
Characters; Jowy [
for_destiny], Freyjadour Falenas [
dawn_shower], & Kyle [
rouge_knight]
Summary; Jowy and Frey decide to participate in the celebrations (sans the odd practice of giving women beads) and to drink like the underaged nobles they are~ ♥ Kyle tags along ♥~
Log;
In all his life, Jowy had never seen a celebration quite like the one occuring out in the city today. Having lived most of his life in the backwater town of Kyaro near the borders of Highland and Jowston, he could only dream of the kind of festivities that could have occured in the beautiful streets of Highland's capital, L'Renoulle. The change of scenery was good. The consecutive curses had certainly done a number on not only him but Frey himself... Certainly, they deserved to lay back and celebrate like the young men they were and what better way than to indulge in a little drinking? After all, Jowy told himself, he wasn't really going to drink himself into a stupor!
And it was the first time in months he'd felt so well. Ever since he'd come to the city -- ever since he'd decided to use the Black Sword to restrain the Beast Rune -- he'd never felt quite as whole but now, though slightly weak, he felt so much... better. Wonderful, actually. It was like he was allowed to become a normal person again. And the weather, though cold, no longer bothered him so much. It was truly a wonderful feeling.
His newly found comfort in regards to the weather allowed him to dress rather stylishly for the celebration. No longer wrapped overly in warming clothes, he wore a suit similar to the ones he wore back in Highland, though thicker. It made him feel rather proud of himself.
Frey was waiting for him at the fountain, so he made his way towards the landmark, watching out for the familiar head of silver hair.

Tearing his eyes away from yet another enthusiastic girl, Kyle grinned as he fingered the beads around his own neck. He'd gotten them from some random person who had been above them, throwing the things out their window. Still grinning and now adding a little whistle to his cheer as well, the blonde ex-knight took off the string and began to secretly tie it to the end's of Frey's hair. Other people had been doing it, so why not him?
"So where we meeting up with this Jowy guy anyway?" he asked, using the conversation as a means of distraction.

“By the fountain he’d suggested… and I’d already told you that but I think you were too busy eyeing one of the enthusiastic ladies. He tossed his head slightly, freeing his hair from Kyle’s gentle grip, the beads that hung from his hair rustling together in an odd kind of symphony. He peered at Kyle over his shoulder with a slight teasing grin, “Does that mean I’m supposed to bare my chest for you?” He would have suggested Kyle waste the bauble on some passing woman but it wasn’t as if the blonde needed any more encouragement in such an area and he’d like to meet up with Jowy before the festivities were over.

Grinning as Frey took back his hair and teased him back lightly, Kyle vaguely wondered if the Prince actually knew that what he'd just said could be counted as mildly flirting. ... Okay, yeah right. The Prince wouldn't know flirting if it bit him right in the face. He had been able to act normal around Jeanne after all, and that woman was a fine a flirt as any.
"Normally, I'd say you should do as the natives do, but I'm not sure it'd be a good idea with all these women around to see the sight as well."

Seeing Jowy up ahead Frey sped up slightly, making his way towards the fountain. Jowy was dressed differently from usual. It had only been a few days since he’d sealed off the rune in his deal with Siran but he could already see the difference. Jowy looked healthier, happier, more alive whereas before he seemed to constantly sway from side to side on that brink of death. And he was dressed for the festivities too it seemed.
Frey had chosen to opt not to wear his usual armor either, or any of the clothes from home. It was a celebration after all, a chance to be festive. And while Frey didn’t understand the concept of “fashion” very well, let alone what it meant in a place where worlds clashed he did know what to wear to look appropriate given his standing. The tunic was similar to the one he wore when he traveled incognito but far more luxurious, made of dark red silk that faded to hues of orange. With his hair pulled up in a loose ponytail and the multicoloured beads spilling from it, Frey looked very much like someone in the midst of celebration. Given the past string of curses there wasn’t much to celebrate but there was no use lamenting things done anyways.
“Come on, I’ll introduce you two…since you’ve never met properly.”

It was safe to say that Kyle was at a loss of what to say or do. Well, he could cancel out a few things he could have done, but for the most part, his mind was a blank on what to say or what action to take. After all, the last time he'd met the guy, he'd been fighting the Prince and had tried to turn them into human-sized skewers.
After staring for a moment in confusion, Kyle nudged Frey's side with his elbow and leaned down to whisper in his ear, breath ghosting lightly over the shell as he spoke. "Uh... Prince. I think this guy might have started the party without us."

“Won’t you rise, Lord Jowy? Unless you’ve become my sworn knight without my knowledge,” he replied in good humor. He refrained from using any titles that might dredge up unpleasant memories. After all it was only recently that Jowy had been in such high spirits.
“Kyle, this is Jowy. He helped me out a lot when I first arrived in the City, he’s a dear friend to me. Jowy, this is Kyle he’s…” Frey trailed off, only for a moment but it was noticeable. Strange, that he could no longer call Kyle a knight. “One of my closest and dearest friends, he’s known me a long time. …and he is an unstoppable womanizer.”

"And as long as you don't try any of that rune stuff again, I don't see why we can't just put it behind us," he finished with a grin. Even though he might have said it casually, there was still that small part of Kyle that was protective and wary. It was natural after all. He knew what runes could do, had seen it firsthand with his own two eyes even. Could anyone really fault him for having just the slightest mother-henning instincts when they were stuck in a strange city with people from the future no less?

“Well now that the introductions are out of the way, shall we go get ourselves some drinks? After all I have a challenge to answer,” Frey smiled warmly at Kyle, not that it would make up for what he’d done but it was all that he could offer right now. Knight or not Kyle was someone that had been with him all along, through it all and he treasured him for that not the duties he’d held as a Queen’s Knight.

"Lead the way and lets get drinking!"

“I’ve never peeked into a women’s bath.”

"Bet you enjoyed it though, am I right? Accident or not, there's just something about seeing a naked female, huh?" he pestered lightly, teasing grin on his face and in his tone. Pouring himself a shot though, Kyle quickly down it before giving Jowy another teasing grin. "Nothing wrong with saying so. We're all healthy young men here."
Since it was his turn now, Kyle thought for a moment before picking his choice. "I've never blushed when looking at a woman's breast."

"I've never trained with a non-bladed weapon before."

“Cheap shot, Kyle,” Frey chided idly as he drank another shot. All of them seemed pretty much even as far as how much they’d imbibed.

It went on this way for a while, which the questions getting sillier and a little more risky with each passing round. It wasn't until all three were fairly intoxicated that Kyle even thought to start asking the more personal or embarrassing questions, earlier ones about breasts aside.
"I've never had more than one chick going after me and saying no," Kyle stated proudly, not exactly thinking perfectly clear at the moment.

He frowned slightly for a moment, concentrating trying to find something to pick at for Kyle. “Hmph, and I’ve never had several women go after me and said yes to all of them!” The statements were getting increasingly targeted, to the point it was almost just plain silly.

"Yo Jowy. Don't you want to have sex with a chick? I mean, you're attractive enough that I can't figure out why you wouldn't have."
Even as he was talking to Jowy, Kyle was paying attention to what kind of action Frey would take, though he was fairly certain of what it would be, he could be sure, as his arrival had been on a rather strange day. And the Prince had disappeared for a while there... But he still couldn't be certain either way. He was more inclined to believe that nothing had happened though.

He brought his hand to his mouth thoughtfully, licking away the stickiness, “So…who’s turn is it?” He’d lost track though the game probably wouldn’t last too much longer. Jowy…was drunk? And maybe himself too, a little anyways.

...
Okay, Kyle would have to admit that he was drunk now. You were not supposed to think of those kind of things about your Prince, the nephew of the aunt you had a sorta-relationship with.
"I think we might want to end the game here," Kyle stated, shaking his head again to clear it of his last thoughts and standing up. "Jowy, you just went and we really need to find someone for you to teach you why necking and kissing are fun. And Prince? I'd say more, but I don't want to end up dead whenever we get back home."

He thought for a moment on Kyle’s comment. Necking and kissing… It was a good thing his face was already flushed, else his thoughts might have shown, curse his pale complexion. It had been…pleasant. But Frey wondered if it might have been different, better if he’d done it with someone he was more familiar with. He told himself he wouldn’t regret but it didn’t prevent lingering thoughts and newly awakened curiosity. “I just…wasn’t interested before,” he murmured quietly, barely audible.
Loose lips, it was time to quit before he let slip that he’d lied on that last one. “I guess you’re right. It’s getting late too anyways. Shall we walk you home, Jowy?”

"Come on kiddos. Lets get going home before your curfews," Kyle teased, grinning with the warmth of the drink and a fun game. Putting a hand on each of their shoulders, the older man began directing the other two outside where, hopefully, the cooler air would clear all their heads a little.

“It’s not too far from where you live, it’s no problem,” Frey assured with his usual smile, usual sweetness.
