Log: Ongoing

When; March 2nd in the evening
Rating; PG?
Characters; L & Near
Summary; Near moves to live at L's apartment and meets him for the first time after many years...
Log;
Near waited for the sunset before he walked out of what no longer would be his apartment. Sunrays were something he had never appreciated, as they were almost painful to his skin, and he didn’t want to go outside when it was dark and more dangerous that it already was.

Pausing for a moment, he stood in front of the majestic carousel, lost in thought. He wondered about the secrets lying behind such a beautiful yet terrifying device that never ceased spinning, as if it were a clock’s hands. Many said it was a countdown, but to Near, that carousel meant the time he had lost, the time put into his hands once more as if being given a second chance.

...A second chance he should never have been given, perhaps.

He resumed his walking toward the seventh building, noticing how his heartbeats became louder as he approached, even if his expression remained emotionless. Soon, he was going to do something he wasn’t supposed to do: he was going to meet L, the only person he admired, adored,...hated...

Finally, he reached apartment 33, and, after hesitating for a moment, he knocked softly on the door.

L had been sure, after a lengthy lecture from Kazuki to make sure his apartment was suitable for having someone else live with him. Regular food was bought and things had been tidied up. L had a feeling that things would become disorganized again, though.

He had been crouched in front of his laptop when he heard the knocking at his door. Chances that it was Near were high, though the dective calculated a minor percentage that it could have been Kazuki. He got up, his lanky frame automatically slouching as he shuffled over to the door.

He opened the door a crack, peering through cautiously and then opening the door fully as he recognized Near for who he was. The boy had changed little, he'd grown, but still seemed to carry something child-like within him. He let a small smile appear on his face as he moved to welcome Near in. "Hello, Near. It's been a while."
