LOG; ongoing
When; March 4, evening
Rating; G
Characters; Jyabura [
maten_rou] and Nico Robin [
blackhibiscus]
Summary; Shang Yuan is here and it brings fun. Right? Right.
Log; So, Shang Yuan. According to posts on the network, it was a festival about the start of the... Chinese New Year. Robin didn't know what that was and her naivety slightly annoyed her, but if it were a festival from another world, how was she supposed to know?
So she was enjoying this Shang Yuan for as long as it lasted, sans kimono though, grasping Jyabura's arm firmly and marveling at the beauty of the City with all of its lights and sounds. The way the City could change from a dirty, awful place (in her opinion) to something nice at night somewhat amazed her, but she blamed that on the deities' magic. They were, after all, capable of a lot of things. Most unpleasant things but this was one of their nicer "gifts" to the citizens.
"I really like this festival," she stated to start some small-talk, watching people in kimonos brushing past them gracefully. She started to regret that fact that she wasn't wearing one, but merely taking part in the festivities was enough for her.

"Well, it is pretty" he had to admit, "but such things usually don't last long here" he added and gazed at some food stands. What if this food would turn into the same like the turkeys some months ago? He distrusted the City so much, he wouldn't eat even a bit of any food at the festival. He thought it was dangerous enough to visit this whole festival, considering the unstable situation with Ao Kiji, but hiding like a rabbit was worse.

Because she herself had been pessimistic for ages now and she wanted to look on the bright side of things since Ao Kiji's arrival; she'd realized that had to enjoy everything because she could be dying soon. Or worse, someone she cared about. But, those thoughts weren't on her mind right now as she was looking at a couple of children who were begging their mother for some money to buy candy. Children. They'd have one of those soon, and the faster it approached, the more anxious she became. It was kind of scary since it was something she had no idea about, but on the other hand she was excited for things to come.

He gave Robin a sceptical look that she luckily couldn't see. Well, those were some very new tones from her, and it seemed a bit too sudden for him. He followed her look to the children, but what she thought didn't come to his mind too; he spent too much time with Nell to be scared of their upcoming parenthood.
"Well, if you say so" he murmured and put his arm around Robin's waist. She'd surely look awesome in a kimono. Or well, anything else, really. "Not that I mind it, but where does this sudden change of mind come from?" he asked her before kissing her cheek. "Optimism wasn't exactly your strongest trait yet."

She knew that she’d feel either the same or severely depressed the next day due to her pregnancy, but she felt too happy and carefree right now to even think about that. The notorious mood swings had finally gotten a hold of her, but she had yet to experience the puking; something she hoped that wouldn’t happen, actually. Even though she loved the fact that she was having a baby, the sickness and cravings for strange food were things she could miss.

"But you don't need a constant threat around you to know that" he added, knowing all too well how easy people can die, as he killed enough of them back in their world.

"Apparently I do," she said, knowing that she had every reason to be happy, but yet she felt either unsafe, if she were in the City, or downright gloomy. She hated faking smiles for everyone so they wouldn't worry about her; she just wanted to smile genuinely, even if it were just for one day.
