When; Now?
Rating; G
Characters; Fai [
fainaigue] and Kurogane [
black_ginryuu]
Summary; Kurogane's arrived in the city and goes to meet up with Fai at his apartment.
Log;
Despite all this time of travelling to different worlds, it was always a bit odd to be in a new place, and it took time to adjust. It had always been made easier by his friends and travelling companions being there with him, but Fai was alone this time. Or, at least he was until just now. Kurogane had apparently shown up in this odd city, and perhaps that meant that the others were not far behind. They had been separated before, and he was sure it would happen again, but it didn't mean that Fai liked it. Being alone made it easier for him to dwell on certain things, especially after the odd day he had spent trapped in his nightmares.
He shook his head, as if that alone would erase the thoughts that were tromping quite chaotically through his brain, and affixed his usual smile to his face, a mask that most did not care to look past. However, most did not include Kurogane, who was getting to know him far too well for Fai's mental well-being. The best thing for him to do was to truly forget about his dream, at least for the time being, or he would be called on his false smile. Thankfully, the prospect of being reunited with someone familiar, especially the tall ninja, brought a wide grin to his face. After all, all he had to do was think of how much fun it would be to tease the other man. His reactions were priceless, really.

It then occurred to Fai that he hadn't heard the lock on the bedroom door engage along with the others on the front door. A mischievous thought popped into his head, one he couldn't possibly ignore. After all, Kurogane's reaction was bound to be well worth it. Striding across the room, Fai grabbed the doorknob, twisting it and wrenching it open, voice loud and sing-song. "Kuro-muu, need some help picking out your clothes?"

He was frowning in thought, still trying to figure out where this new piece of the puzzle fit in to the overall mosaic of wierd when the door hit the wall as it was flung open. As usual, Fai threw all of Kurogane's rational thought out the window.
"Wh-What the hell do you think you're doing, you damn stupid mage?! I'm trying to change here!" he exploded right on cue.

"I know you're trying to change, Kuro-pipi, that's the whole reason why I'm here!" If Fai didn't intervene, who knows what Kurogane would end up wearing? Something boring and entirely black, most likely, or perhaps a bit of red here or there, but that's it. Sometimes he wondered if the man was colorblind, and that's why he always wore such dark colors, in an attempt to avoid clashing. It would make sense, after all.

"Isn't it polite to stay out of people's rooms when they're trying to change?! Hunh?!"
Breathing hard, he calmed down enough to huff and turn his back on the blond. Facing the wardrobe once again, he shifted through the bright colors immidiately, his eyes trained to look for things that would blend into the background of a night-time situation. There was even some stuff in here that would fit his large frame, which was surprising to say the least. The feeling of someone watching over them grew, but he brushed it off irritably for the moment with a frown.

Arching a brow at Kurogane's words, Fai just gave a pointed look at the obviously slept-in bed in the room. After all, Kurogane hadn't asked when he had gone stalking off into the bedroom. If it was Fai's apartment, didn't it stand to reason that it was likely the bedroom was as well?
Well, there was nothing to be done than to stand directly behind Kurogane and watch over his shoulder as he went through the clothes that were there, making noises of approval or disapproval at each article that was looked at. Unfortunately there wasn't many items where their preferences coincided. As he leaned a little closer, he wondered when Kurogane would explode again. Probably pretty soon, especially with his chin practically resting on top of his right shoulder. Oh well, there was no helping it!

But, of course, when Fai made a disgusted noise at one black shirt too many, he filled his deep lungs and spun around with the intention to start screaming again. He hadn't noticed how close Fai had been getting and now found them practically nose-to-nose. Instead, a frown fell around his face and he pushed forward, hands catching Fai in the shoulders and firmly placing him a good few steps away, out of Kurogane's personal space.
"If you've got something to say, then say it," he ground out between clenched teeth, the black shirt rapidly becoming wrinkled in his fist.

He then plucked the shirt from Kurogane's grasp, trying to smooth out the wrinkles - a lost cause without an iron and a lot of steam, unfortunately. "Don't you ever want to wear colors for a change? Doesn't it get boring wearing black all the time?"

A growl of fustration made it out of Kurogane's throat before he could catch it.

Finally, taking mercy on the poor ninja - or so he saw it - Fai batted Kurogane's hands away and deftly did up all the buttons for him, patting him on the center of his chest and smiling brightly. "There you go, all dressed! Feel better now, Kuro-puff?"

"I need new pants," he grumbled, a little embarressed to be even having this conversation, as if he was a small child that needed his ward to be dressing him. Admittably, back in Japan Kurogane had people who dressed him on command as well, not that he took advantage of that.

"Ah, need some help picking something out?" He brushed past Kurogane to open one of the drawers in the wardrobe, sorting through different articles of clothing. There were shorts, pants, even skirts - though he doubted that Kurogane would appreciate it very much if he suggested he wear one of those - until he finally found a pair of dark pants that looked to be the correct size. "Here you go, I'm just going to go back out in the other room while you finish changing, okay, Kuro-pii?" He didn't wait for an answer, though, instead crossing the room in efficient strides, closing the door softly behind him.

Kurogane wasn't sure half the time what to do about it, so he settled for a brooding silence. He wasn't sure why, but he felt oddly accountable when it came to the mage's momentary lapses into seriousness, even though it was admittably his fault for encouraging them.
Dropping his ragged pants to the floor from the last world they had been in, Kurogane instead pulled on the new ones. They were a little too tight to be practical, but he could work with it.
Striding to the door when he was done, leaving the rest of the clothes in a mess on the floor, he slammed it open as he made his entrence into the living space.
