Summary: Unhappy Juno offers the newcomer a quest.
Log:
A number of people had come to talk to Wesley since his sudden arrival.
In spite of being mostly disoriented by the strange journey from death to rebirth, he was most dreadfully embarassed how messy his clothes were, torn and stained with the blood of his messy death in L.A.
Now he was curious about this new place. And both delighted and disappointed to find Illyria here.
It had been so a relief to believe the lie she had put on for him in his last moments. To return and find Fred still gone from him forever! But Illyria was important to him too.
She and he shared a common bound now, tables turned. He was the one who was a stranger in a strange land now.
Of all the people who had helloed him one caught his attention, a dark skinned Asian woman with haunted eyes, wearing a too-big coat.

Juno had finally come out of room 302. The Very idea was just crazy. Being in a murderer's apartment. Calling his name three times and sleeping there.
She headed for the square.
When she saw Wesley she took off the coat.
"Here. It looks like you need it," she spoke shyly, "I got his clothes too back at the apartment.I don't know if they'll fit."

"Oh, yes. Thank you.." Wesley sounded a little distracted, but he was cold. He had not yet realised in taking in the sounds and sights of the city that the constant ticking replaced the one sound he should have noticed gone-his heartbeat.
So he was cold. The coat would help. He was not as tall as Mr.Mulder had been but it was good to have something warm around him. It reminded him of Angel's coat and the time he had worn that, impersonating the vampire.
Illyria would be back for him soon. "His?" he asked, "who are we talking about?"
~Ø~
"Fox Mulder. He's dead now. He won't mind."
She paused.
"I'm Juno, by the way."
She debated telling him everything. "He was murdered and I'm waiting for his killer to open the portal to get out of this place. There was a portal there so maybe I can be free of here."
~Ø~
That was certainly a lot to absorb from a first meeting! But the girl was a little crazy from grieving apparently, and Wesley's life had never been exactly normal anyway.
An ex-Watcher and later part of Angel Investigations. It almost seemed like she knew he was the sort of person to talk to about such things, as though his resume was writ about him psychically or something equally unexplainable.
"F-Fox Mulder, did you say?" Wesley was smiling, but it was the smile of uncertainty. "I can't say as I'd ever heard of him.. did he say he knew me?"
~Ø~
"No, I was going to give his clothes away soon, to people who needed them. He was not big with the wardrobe department and I have little use for them. You dropped your business card and I read it. 'We help the hopeless'?
So, are you some kind of detective too?" She asked very curious. "How'd you end up in this messed up place.." Angel Investigaions, the card said, was in L.A. But this man sounded British to her.
~Ø~
"I...I guess I have no idea." Wesley looked a little sad. A moment of homesickness. He smiled again, nervously. He seemed to do a lot of that.
"I just hope everything works out alright again. So...you say your friend was murdered?" Wesley felt a little strange to be wearing a dead man's coat, but then, he'd been dead himself for some time now, it seemed.
~Ø~
"He was murdered by Walter Sullivan. And then walter was just gone. Nowhere to be found. Portaled out. Sounds weird, I know. But my boyfriend kept files on weird stuff. "
~Ø~
"Really? How unusual." This was sounding like something Angel Investigations might have been interested in. But, he realised, the others were gone. It was just him now, once again. Reduced back to a rogue demon hunter, or was all of that over for him?
"I'm sorry," he said, "it's just I've only just arrived. It's all so new. Look...Illyria shall want me to catch up, I expect, and I'd certainly be interested in looking at those files and this portal you speak of. But there is a time and a place for all things. Where shall I find you if I want to come call? I expect I'll have the hang of this place shortly enough."
~Ø~
"Building 11, room 302," she stated. "feel free to come look at the notes. Maybe you can make sense of them."
Juno turned to go.
~Ø~
"Yes. Yes, yes, I expect I will." Wesley could not resist a mystery.
As the Asian woman turned a corner and was gone Wesley realised she had never even got his name.
