LOG: ONGOING

When; Feb 21, evening
Rating;PG
Characters; [livejournal.com profile] fateisabitch and [livejournal.com profile] lyra_of_dustSummary; Lyra and Kamui have dinner and a little talk.
Log; Lyra hesitated for a moment before knocking on Kamui's door. She hadn't really spoken with him much in person since her plan to avenge Jowy's actions towards him on that curse day had gone horribly wrong. And after... Well she couldn't blame him for being furious with her, even if Jowy had forgiven her... There was still the whole mess with Sakurazuka to sort out.

She sighed, exchanged a glance with Pantalaimon and rapped sharply on the door. Hopefully, he'd already be in there.

Kamui jumped a little at the knock on his door, which was stupid, he thought, she he WAS expecting a visitor. He just hoped... it was the right one, and not Seishirou come to steal him back, or the other Kamui to yell at him for staying someplace too close to the older man.

As luck would have it, though, it was in-fact his adopted little sister (unless the peephole was lying), and so he carefully opened the door, looking at her and her daemon for a moment before acknowledging them both with nods, "Lyra. Pan. Both of you in before Seishirou figures out I'm here." Without much thought beyond that, he gently pulled her in, locking the door behind his two visitors and then sighing with relief. No Seishirous to be upset with him for wandering off and not coming back. "Um... hi?"

All Kamui could do for a moment was blink, wide-eyed and confused. He certainly hadn't expected to be suddenly hugged like that, much less have apologizes steaming from the girl's mouth almost incoherently. "Lyra..." he tried to sooth her a little, protective urges kicking in, "Imouto, shhh... calm down..." The embrace was returned, one of his hands absently petting her hair; anything to make her not so upset. He'd never really... seen her like this... "Just calm down, okay?" He had no idea that he could have such a strong effect on someone like this.

Important person. Someone well-liked and cared for. He was... hearing that a lot lately; first Nill, then Jowy, and now Lyra. But just because they adored him, did that mean they wouldn't leave like everyone else? So far, at least, it seemed as if they wouldn't: they relied on his presence as much as he did their's. He had just recently realized that.

"Lyra, you're important to me too." Smiling a little, softly, he brushed back her hair a little. "I'm sorry I upset you so much, but... I was so angry at you. You hurt someone else very important to me." A pause, and then suddenly he ruffled her hair a little, "I forgive you now, though." Which was to be expected; when he was close to someone, he almost always forgave them. After all, he still wanted to be close to Fuuma, even after all his friend/enemy had done, and nothing his current friends could do would ever be able to top that.

First thought was to freak out over those tears. She was... about to cry? Because of him? That was bad, right? "Oh god, please don't cry..." He started to pet her again, hoping that would stop the water welling. "I'm sorry."

And even sorry-er when he heard her request. Moving in with him wasn't an option, especially since the other him couldn't stand her. "Moving in... that... well, right now that depends on the vampire twins. But wouldn't you be happier living someplace on your own, permanently? I tend to move from place to place. It'd be nothing by trouble for you."

"I have no doubt Subaru wouldn't mind, but..." He bit his lower lip, trying to think of a good way to put this and failing miserably, "the other me doesn't like you. Maybe it'd be okay if you promise to stay away from him? But that apartment only has two bedrooms..." They could always get bunk beds or something, he figured. Just as long as they didn't share a bed like the twins: that'd be too awkward.

Kamui flinched when Lyra mentioned Seishirou, feeling rather... guilty. He couldn't just avoid the man forever; he had to go back eventually. Thus, he thought it best to avoid the topic of not moving back in with him. "Seishirou, well, he doesn't have the same power as Fuuma. Fuuma can only turn into someone you wish to see, from what I've been told. Seishirou can spin illusions. I'm sure he can use that to appear as whoever." Surprisingly, though, the older man had never once tried that on him. "Why? What did he do?"

Now THAT was worrisome. Lyra did have a point: there was no way Seishirou COULD know what her mother looked like. "Maybe it's a psychological illusion? Because he reminds you so much of her anyway." But either way, he didn't want her to have to go through that. Seishirou could, and most likely would, use that against her in the worst ways possible.

"You'll be staying with me, then." He held her close again, protectiveness present in his tone and actions, "Even if I have to sneak you into the twins' place."

Kamui finally let go of his adopted little sister, trying to push his worrying over her to the back of his mind at the moment. "Sure." He led her into the kitchen, pointing to the ingredients splayed out on the counter. "I... I didn't know what you might like, so I decided we'd eat something simple. Spagetti and meatballs." He tossed her an apron, putting his own back on before smiling at her. "All that's really left to do for now is roll the meatballs and put them in the pot with the boiling sauce. We'll do the noodles when those are almost done."

For a moment, he blinked at the oddly shaped meat... thing. Not a ball, a thing. "Um..." But Lyra just looked so damned proud of what she'd done that he couldn't find it in himself to tell her that wasn't right. "That... that works?" Even though it'd take twice as long to cook that one. "But, maybe for the next one... something like this?" He took a small glob of meat into his hands, rolling it into a perfect, bite-sized ball.

Not perfect, but an improvement. "Yep." Another little smile. "You're a fast learner." And he suddenly realized that, based on her inital skill, this was probably the first thing she'd ever made. He'd have to teach her more, for sure; after all, cooking was a good skill to have. "Maybe after dinner, we can make a little cake together?"
