Log; On-going
When; March 24; Fairy Tale Day Pt. 1
Rating; PG-like?
Characters; Octavius (
agustusoctavius), Jed (
say_yeehaw), & Faye (
glock30)
Summary; So two fairies walk into this maze, and there's this girl...
Log;
Faye wasn't afraid of the dark, not by a long shot. She also wasn't remotely afraid or worried about being in the dark, in a maze by herself. Really. It didn't bother her at all. What did bother her was that her legs were getting tired, her hands sore from bumping along the walls, and she was more than positive she'd run into the same dead end about four times now. Honestly, if it hadn't been for those little trivial problems she would have been fine.
But those problems were problems, and she was starting to think that she'd wander around down here until she passed out from exhaustion or irritation--whichever came first--and then get eaten by giant rats or dripping ghosts or whatever it was that picked off the lady in these stories. Where was that stupid knight anyway? Probably eaten, the idiot.
"Oh, well," she said to no one in particular--or at all, since she was alone--and sat down to stretch her legs across one of the hallways, wondering if you really could make a light from striking rocks together.

Octavius squinted in the darkness, looking for Faye. From the distance he and Jed flew, it was obvious she had a while to go before getting out. He smacked his cowboy counter-part on the shoulder and pointed to a dark corner of the maze when he finally spotted her.

skirtbelt back, so he'd go along if for no other reason then to hang around and annoy the woman. He glanced over at Octavius as the Roman slapped his shoulder, and his blue eyes lit upon Faye's form over in a corner. Ah. Target spotted.

Then again if it was those two fairy boys looking for that skirt, she didn't want to look like she was afraid or something stupid. In that case, she made sure that her voice was steady when she started yelling. "Hello?! Where are you? Where's my damn light!"

Octavius lifted a tiny hand to his ears, then looked over to Jed for approval. "I hope you know what you're doing..." he continued, preparing to conjure the poor girl a light.

Satisfied, she shook her shoulders, trying to get them off. If they were going to be so annoying then she wasn't about to give them a free ride. They had a job to do. She was a lady, someone important. Didn't they know that?

"WILL YOU CUT IT OUT?!" the little man yelled back, holding his ears. "Do you want our help or not?!"
Octavius fluttered his wings, moving in front of Faye, "Hmph, let there be light," he said in a very bored monotone. Snapping his fingers, a small rainbow light up the surrounding area.
"OH FOR THE LOVE OF THE GODS!!!" the Roman shouted, "COULD THEY MAKE US ANY MORE GAY?"
no subject
"Pretty damn gay I'm thinkin'! Must be all yew!" The Cowboy cackled, holding his sides with laughter.

She started trying to grab at both of them, which was difficult considering that she couldn't see, for one, and they were smaller and therefore faster. "You call THAT a light?!" she was saying, screeching almost. "Why don't I just close my eyes and pretend I found a light! That would be better!" She thought she had one of them when she went on, saying, "You two are going to get me out of here right now even if it kills you!"

He tried to flutter away, but Faye's grip was too tight. "Fine!!" he told her, grumpily, "Why don't we let brokeback give it a try?!?" he continued, folding his arms in an irritated matter.
no subject
"Fine, fine! Yew jest watch!" And with a wave of his hand, he produced....another rainbow. Granted it was slightly bigger and more brighter than Octavius's but....he turned his head slightly to glare at the Roman.
"Don'. Yew. Say. A. WORD!" he warned through clenched teeth.

"Erk! No! Come back!" he shouted fluttering after her. "We're just...heh heh, you see, warming up? Yes, that's right. Warming up." he winced back at Jed, hoping Faye would give them a second try, and if Jed would really help him out.

She turned to face them, and said, "Now, since I'm feeling charitable here, let's try this again. I'm not asking for a miracle here, guys. Just a way out." Faye tapped her foot expectantly and waited.
no subject
Find a way out? That wasn't part of the deal. Octavius sighed heavily and folded his arms again.
"Jedediah, I hope you know what you're doing..." he mumbled so that only Jed could hear, "Because I'm not quite sure how to summon anything but rainbows."

She looked between them for a moment before she arched an eyebrow and asked, "So, what, do I hold one of you like a candle or something?"
no subject
There would be no man-handling today. Not by her.
"We have wings," he said, "obviously. But it would be much more comfortably on those shoulders of yours." he continued, giving her a smartass wink.

"Fine," she said, throwing her hands up in the air. "But no funny business."
no subject
"That's more like it," he said, trying to think how he went wrong with that rainbow-thing.
no subject
He snapped his fingers and a flashlight materialized in Faye's hand. "Howzat?"
no subject
Faye looked at the light. "And just what am I supposed to do with a light when I don't even know which way I'm facing?"

He fluttered above her head and peered over the maze's walls. "Head to your left," he said, following the maze with his eyes, "You should come to a sort of intersection, you'll go straight, and at the turn after that, right." he fluttered back down on her shoulder.
"Start walking or I won't tell you where to go from there-" he muttered.
