Log: Ongoing

When; Wednesday, March 28th, Afternoon.
Rating; I'm gonna put R, b/c of some of the battle plans that I'm aware of.
Characters; Too many to list individually, but most all Naruto characters, and a few others.
Summary; The long-simmering tension between Akatsuki and Konoha finally boils over. I think that sums it up.

*Note*

Alright, as this log is going to be so very long, and have so very many people, please put the name of the person your action is directed towards into the subject-line of your post. Keep to standard Poly rules, so no god-modding and be considerate. Also please refrain from Sue-armour. If you don't want your character to die, that's fine, just make sure to keep things realistic. Please don't jump in on the fight unless you've already been counted as part of it. Not to exclude people, I just don't want this to get so big that we can't handle it. Afterall, it's not supposed to be a one-sided slaughter for EITHER side, so let's keep things fair. Anyone who wants to say they watched the fight is free to do so, and you may post your characters' arrival to watch if you like, just don't interfere w/the actual battle. As with all things, please enjoy~

Log; Standing at the edge of the desert, Itachi allowed crimson eyes to scan the sand to one side and the trees to the other. They would be there soon. This had been building for far too long to be denied, and there was blood to be spilt. Whether his own side had started it, or their side, it mattered little to the cloaked man who stood on the sands and waited. The outcome would be the same. A chance to once again verify the breadth of his container, an opportunity to rid himself of annoyances once and for all.
Some might have called it arrogance, but to the Uchiha, it was merely common sense. Indeed, he might die. But that mattered little to him. Afterall, it wasn't as though he didn't consider his own head full of memories he had little use for. And the deities of this place bargained in memories. Returning a life in exchange seemed to be little more then a parlour trick for them. But his enemies? Their minds were full of the soft and cloyingly sweet fruits of friendship and love. Things that made sacrificing parts of yourself a more difficult task. Not to mention that even if he fell here, he would be certain to take others with him. And in doing that, removing yet another handful of players from the overall game.

Dropping out of the trees a scant hundred yards or so from the edge of the treeline, Shikamaru crouched and waited. He could sense the Akatsuki, their chakra signature like a malevolent beacon on the wind that glared of malice and death. Keeping his own chakra suppressed, he tried to figure out their numbers. He knew perfectly well how many there were, it was just a matter of trying to find where they were all positioned. Four Akatsuki, plus two others. One of them was most certainly Ingram, the other...he didn't know. Until then, he'd lay low and wait for the signal.

Dust scattered up from the ground, as a flapping of wings became audible. A bird, almost the same hue as the desert itself landed with a soft 'thump' upon the sand, its head darting from side to side, as if surveying the surroundings.
A man jumped from the back of the bird, his clothing a stark contrast to the tawny backdrop that he stood upon. Black emblazoned with red clouds. A faint jingle was heard, floating across the air, followed by a few words.

"Am I late, Itachi, un?"

A pair of golden eyes surveyed the area, catching in sight the beginnings of the two warring sides. Not everyone had appeared yet, but when they did, it would certainly be amusing.

Something red darted out, slithering over lips and coating them with a moist sheen. A motion of anticipation....Folding his arms, the now-moistened lips drew into a grin.

This will be quite worthwhile...

[identity profile] zetsu-san.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
This was the perfect setting. Forestation, plantation and the joy of battle. Zetsu felt right at home. He was comfortably sitting underneath the battleground, eyes closed. He seemed to be bobbing to his own little tune inside of his behemoth flytraps which enclosed his head.
The steady tapping of feet came apparent to him, as did familiar chakra.
The quiet metallic humming kicked in once again.
It was such awful circumstances, yet the plant overgrowth couldn't help but smile. After all, he hadn't fed in a long while...

"Kekeke...It shan't be long now..."

Watcher's only entry

That day, War wanted to walk by the edge of the forest, long before people gathered, she was waiting. Her slender red form was contrasted by the green of the trees and brown of the wood, but sometimes she was not really there, as a person, but the smell of bloodshed and sweat, the cries of anger and the gleam of sharp blades. Her yellow eyes were like twin flames that lapped and consumed when they fixated on something or someone. Red heard echoes of increasing aggression, either by her presence or their own. They were symbiotic, they were all red.

Casting her sword on the ground, Red sat at the shadow of a oak, taking the scarlet feather of the Angel Aziraphale, exhaling the scent of mixed blood and brushing the soft end to her nose. They would gather, she knew. She would watch them, but it was their choice to see her or not. Sometimes it was easier to bear if they did not realize her presence at all.

She put the feather in her auburn hair and smiled like a knife.

The air rippled visibly. At first glance, once would think it was just the heat of the day coming off the sands, but if one studied it closer, they would realize it was something more. The air was physically moving, as if reality itself was being torn in twain. The sand beneath the rippling portal was quickly melting, turning into a crystalline natural glass. All at once the rippling stopped, freezing into an oval of light. Through this mirror-shaped luminescence, a graceful form stepped, touching down upon the glass, which glittered and reflected the spectacle above it.

"I am here, Uchiha. Now, you'd best keep your end of the bargain to me, as I will be fighting to aid you." Silver lips pursed on the end of these words, as if they were almost revolting to make audible. She never aided anyone, really--with the exception of those who were the Horde, but even that was due to a congruency of interests. She had made a pact with Thrall and Cairne--a 'you aid me, I'll aid you' sort of treaty. Sighing softly, she told herself once more that this was not much different, and if it would get her back to the Ruins of Lordaeron where she belonged, then it was a move worth making.

Greed cracked his joints idly as he scanned the area.

"So," he said aloud, kicking up some ground impatiently, "Who's the first on this little hit parade to tangle with the G-man?"

Watcher Post for Major's party

[identity profile] warconductor.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
At a reasonably safe distance, but still within easy view of the action, a round table had been set up with a number of chairs positioned around it.

The Major sat at one such of these tables, sipping at a cup of cocoa.

And behind him, the Captain loomed like only a seven foot werewolf consumed by his own harshly controlled rage can loom.

Woe betide the univited guest who tried to crash the Major's party.

Schrödinger appeared (or was he already there all this time?) just behind Captain. Looking up the tall werewolf, the boy slowly grinned before circling him and sitting on the floor, leaning on Major's chair with a content face.

"Has it started yet?" Schrödinger asked, excitedly.

((OOC: If Cain and Isaak show up here. I'll have Dietrich join them)).

A looming shadow slid into view at the table. Darth Bane lowered his hood, revealing his bald visage as he took in the scene. "Are we watching a war or having a tea party?" he said with more than a hint of sarcasm. He eyed the werewolf carefully as he stood by the table, folding his arms and turning his view to the soon-to-be battlefield before him.

"Both," the Major responded. "Although I personally cannot stand tea."

He placed his cocoa on a saucer in front of him and stood up to face Darth Bane. He briefly saluted. "Guten tag, Herr Bane. Can we get you something?"

"Nein. Not yet, Schrodinger," the Major said, absentmindedly scratching the catboy's hair.

"I am thinking of a toast before the fighting starts. But I want to know about your first kill."

Doc was not uninvited, not concerned about the hulking werewolf, and ready with several trays of decidedly German delights (), Sauerkraut, of course, Kartoffelsalat, Sauerbraten, Grünkohl und Kohlwurst, Möpkenbrot (because everyone loves pig blood in their bread) and more.

But most importantly, he had his telescope and a laptop upon which to display its video output. There was no reason not to capture the action for later study, after all.

[ooc: And the scary Major & Doc domesticity continues. And alas, despite my family's being German, I actually earnestly dislike German food. Now with functional code]

"Just a pair of macrobinoculars, or barring that, mundane ones will suffice," he replied. He sniffed at the air a moment and seemed to reconsider. "Though that drink you have smells good, whatever it is."

He purred when Major scratched his hair, louder when his fingers brushed the edges of his ears.

"Ja. He was a boy, about my height, with my hair color and bright, blue eyes," Schrödinger started to tell. "He was playing alone, his mother was buying him a candy in Cafe Juliet. I told him we could play cat and mouse. I'll be the cat and he the mouse, he'll try to escape and I'll chase behind." His features darkened. "He agreed to play but the mouse could not escape from the hungry cat. Meowth."

Kabuto, having heard rumblings throughout the city of a war, and finding his leader's note atop even that, hurried to the secluded spot that Orochimaru had pointed out to him earlier.

Slowly stepping from the shadows, the medic strode forward carefully to the side of his master.

"Orochimaru-sama."

The Major snapped his fingers and Tublicain Alhambra appeared with a tray. He handed a pair of binoculars of the Doctor's design to Darth Bane, as well as a cup of cocoa.

"We call it cocoa," the Major said. "A personal favorite of mine."

"Excellent. How did it feel? And did the mother attempt to interfere?"

"Good to see you decided you weren't above getting your hands dirty, Deidara-san."

The blue skinned man approached the members of his order slowly, a large, toothy grin covering his face, beady eyes focused intently on battle.

Kisame licked his lips, and squeezed Samehada's hilt. "It's been far too long... any particular plans, Itachi-san?"

Bane sniffed the drink and took a cautionary sip, then another, satisfied that it wasn't poisoned. He took a seat at the table with an advantageous view and put the binoculars to his eyes, scanning the field. His blood was already running hot, through the Force he could sense the hostility these two sides felt for each other. When the killing started... Bane shuddered imperceptibly with anticipation. This is going to be glorious, he thought to himself.

Chouji had been laying in wait in the brush near Shikamaru, hoping to catch an eye of enemy movement. Hoping to make himself useful again.

"See anything, Shika?"

"Of course, Major," Doc replied, bustling around to ensure that everything was properly arranged. "I should be able to gather some superb data."

Walter didn't need to be anywhere near the fight to observe the action, nor would he miss such an opportunity. The sun was unwelcome, but not to be heeded for this opportunity to learn more about some of the City's citizens.

One would hope that his attention would be too focused to note the Major and his group.
