Log: Ongoing

When; Wednesday, March 28th, Afternoon.
Rating; I'm gonna put R, b/c of some of the battle plans that I'm aware of.
Characters; Too many to list individually, but most all Naruto characters, and a few others.
Summary; The long-simmering tension between Akatsuki and Konoha finally boils over. I think that sums it up.

*Note*

Alright, as this log is going to be so very long, and have so very many people, please put the name of the person your action is directed towards into the subject-line of your post. Keep to standard Poly rules, so no god-modding and be considerate. Also please refrain from Sue-armour. If you don't want your character to die, that's fine, just make sure to keep things realistic. Please don't jump in on the fight unless you've already been counted as part of it. Not to exclude people, I just don't want this to get so big that we can't handle it. Afterall, it's not supposed to be a one-sided slaughter for EITHER side, so let's keep things fair. Anyone who wants to say they watched the fight is free to do so, and you may post your characters' arrival to watch if you like, just don't interfere w/the actual battle. As with all things, please enjoy~

Log; Standing at the edge of the desert, Itachi allowed crimson eyes to scan the sand to one side and the trees to the other. They would be there soon. This had been building for far too long to be denied, and there was blood to be spilt. Whether his own side had started it, or their side, it mattered little to the cloaked man who stood on the sands and waited. The outcome would be the same. A chance to once again verify the breadth of his container, an opportunity to rid himself of annoyances once and for all.
Some might have called it arrogance, but to the Uchiha, it was merely common sense. Indeed, he might die. But that mattered little to him. Afterall, it wasn't as though he didn't consider his own head full of memories he had little use for. And the deities of this place bargained in memories. Returning a life in exchange seemed to be little more then a parlour trick for them. But his enemies? Their minds were full of the soft and cloyingly sweet fruits of friendship and love. Things that made sacrificing parts of yourself a more difficult task. Not to mention that even if he fell here, he would be certain to take others with him. And in doing that, removing yet another handful of players from the overall game.

Dropping out of the trees a scant hundred yards or so from the edge of the treeline, Shikamaru crouched and waited. He could sense the Akatsuki, their chakra signature like a malevolent beacon on the wind that glared of malice and death. Keeping his own chakra suppressed, he tried to figure out their numbers. He knew perfectly well how many there were, it was just a matter of trying to find where they were all positioned. Four Akatsuki, plus two others. One of them was most certainly Ingram, the other...he didn't know. Until then, he'd lay low and wait for the signal.

Chouji had been laying in wait in the brush near Shikamaru, hoping to catch an eye of enemy movement. Hoping to make himself useful again.

"See anything, Shika?"

Dust scattered up from the ground, as a flapping of wings became audible. A bird, almost the same hue as the desert itself landed with a soft 'thump' upon the sand, its head darting from side to side, as if surveying the surroundings.
A man jumped from the back of the bird, his clothing a stark contrast to the tawny backdrop that he stood upon. Black emblazoned with red clouds. A faint jingle was heard, floating across the air, followed by a few words.

"Am I late, Itachi, un?"

A pair of golden eyes surveyed the area, catching in sight the beginnings of the two warring sides. Not everyone had appeared yet, but when they did, it would certainly be amusing.

Something red darted out, slithering over lips and coating them with a moist sheen. A motion of anticipation....Folding his arms, the now-moistened lips drew into a grin.

This will be quite worthwhile...

[identity profile] red-eye-medic.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Kabuto, having heard rumblings throughout the city of a war, and finding his leader's note atop even that, hurried to the secluded spot that Orochimaru had pointed out to him earlier.

Slowly stepping from the shadows, the medic strode forward carefully to the side of his master.

"Orochimaru-sama."

[identity profile] abandoned-pawn.livejournal.com 2007-03-29 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
Sandaled feet alighted on the ground beside Orochimaru, brown eyes watching the gathering figures with a vacant and impassionate expression from beneath purple bangs. Standing beside the snake Sannin, she watched as though devoid of any emotion as those of her village gathered for battle.

[identity profile] violentflutist.livejournal.com 2007-03-29 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
Tayuya's arrival was silent, she could be subtle when she needed to. A whirl of long, bright hair, the cracking of knuckles. She stood behind and to the right of her master, dropping first to a kneel, bowing her head slightly. She had developed qualms, in this City, a softness. But there was no softness here, not against Konoha. She still retained her hate for them, especially for the one, Nara Shikamaru. And she knew he was there, knew he was. And she wanted to kill him, wanted to rip into him with her new curse seal and kill him.

... But for now, she renewed her fealty, eyes already turning the tell-tale gold and black instead of brown and white. Bloodlust.

[identity profile] seimon.livejournal.com 2007-03-29 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
Landing behind the others, a boy with two heads appeared, with a smirk.

"Hope we aren't too late for the dance."

[identity profile] zetsu-san.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
This was the perfect setting. Forestation, plantation and the joy of battle. Zetsu felt right at home. He was comfortably sitting underneath the battleground, eyes closed. He seemed to be bobbing to his own little tune inside of his behemoth flytraps which enclosed his head.
The steady tapping of feet came apparent to him, as did familiar chakra.
The quiet metallic humming kicked in once again.
It was such awful circumstances, yet the plant overgrowth couldn't help but smile. After all, he hadn't fed in a long while...

"Kekeke...It shan't be long now..."

Watcher's only entry

[identity profile] smiledlikeknife.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 10:07 pm (UTC)(link)
That day, War wanted to walk by the edge of the forest, long before people gathered, she was waiting. Her slender red form was contrasted by the green of the trees and brown of the wood, but sometimes she was not really there, as a person, but the smell of bloodshed and sweat, the cries of anger and the gleam of sharp blades. Her yellow eyes were like twin flames that lapped and consumed when they fixated on something or someone. Red heard echoes of increasing aggression, either by her presence or their own. They were symbiotic, they were all red.

Casting her sword on the ground, Red sat at the shadow of a oak, taking the scarlet feather of the Angel Aziraphale, exhaling the scent of mixed blood and brushing the soft end to her nose. They would gather, she knew. She would watch them, but it was their choice to see her or not. Sometimes it was easier to bear if they did not realize her presence at all.

She put the feather in her auburn hair and smiled like a knife.

[identity profile] forsakenlady.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
The air rippled visibly. At first glance, once would think it was just the heat of the day coming off the sands, but if one studied it closer, they would realize it was something more. The air was physically moving, as if reality itself was being torn in twain. The sand beneath the rippling portal was quickly melting, turning into a crystalline natural glass. All at once the rippling stopped, freezing into an oval of light. Through this mirror-shaped luminescence, a graceful form stepped, touching down upon the glass, which glittered and reflected the spectacle above it.

"I am here, Uchiha. Now, you'd best keep your end of the bargain to me, as I will be fighting to aid you." Silver lips pursed on the end of these words, as if they were almost revolting to make audible. She never aided anyone, really--with the exception of those who were the Horde, but even that was due to a congruency of interests. She had made a pact with Thrall and Cairne--a 'you aid me, I'll aid you' sort of treaty. Sighing softly, she told herself once more that this was not much different, and if it would get her back to the Ruins of Lordaeron where she belonged, then it was a move worth making.

[identity profile] so-very-greedy.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Greed cracked his joints idly as he scanned the area.

"So," he said aloud, kicking up some ground impatiently, "Who's the first on this little hit parade to tangle with the G-man?"

Watcher Post for Major's party

[identity profile] warconductor.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
At a reasonably safe distance, but still within easy view of the action, a round table had been set up with a number of chairs positioned around it.

The Major sat at one such of these tables, sipping at a cup of cocoa.

And behind him, the Captain loomed like only a seven foot werewolf consumed by his own harshly controlled rage can loom.

Woe betide the univited guest who tried to crash the Major's party.

Re: Watcher Post for Major's party

[identity profile] cutecatenvoy.livejournal.com 2007-03-28 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Schrödinger appeared (or was he already there all this time?) just behind Captain. Looking up the tall werewolf, the boy slowly grinned before circling him and sitting on the floor, leaning on Major's chair with a content face.

"Has it started yet?" Schrödinger asked, excitedly.

((OOC: If Cain and Isaak show up here. I'll have Dietrich join them)).

Walter didn't need to be anywhere near the fight to observe the action, nor would he miss such an opportunity. The sun was unwelcome, but not to be heeded for this opportunity to learn more about some of the City's citizens.

One would hope that his attention would be too focused to note the Major and his group.

He alighted next to Walter with a tilt of the head and a smile, wearing a white kimono, white geta and carrying an umbrella that he used to shade both himself and Walter.

"I thought it fitting to dress for the show."

With a swirl of sand that settled around them, the Godaime Kazekage stepped out of the shadows to stand behind his allies. Nodding to Chouji and Shikamaru, he didn't say anything, aqua-green eyes fixed on the blonde Akatsuki. Deidara. His prey.

to Gaara

[identity profile] lazy-kage-mane.livejournal.com 2007-03-29 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
"Gaara, nice to have you on our side."

Shikamaru glanced up at the redhead for a moment before he turned his attention back to the task at hand, which was waiting and figuring out the right moment to strike. They had to move carefully, wait until they had all of their cards ready. Only then did it make sense to make a move.

[identity profile] yellow-flash.livejournal.com 2007-03-29 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
He was a bit late in arriving, having taken a little time to place a few tagged kunai already around the battle field in order to move with ease from place to place if needbe.

"So it seems Itachi has brought others to his side. And quite an audience." The audience was both sick and amusingly reminiscent of the crowd drawn to the chuunin exams.

[identity profile] lonelysandstorm.livejournal.com 2007-03-29 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
Gaara nodded as the Hokage appeared beside him.

"Indeed, it would seem that way. The blond is mine."

To that Kazekage

Deidara, leaping on the back of his bird, flew above. Grinning, he dropped a small bomb right at the feet of the Kazekage.

"OI! Kazekage-sama, un! Want to try your luck again?!"

Enjoying the show

[identity profile] good-and-proper.livejournal.com 2007-03-29 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
Aizen had sensed the energy before hearing any of the commotion. He was drawn to the clashing spirits, eager to see a true show of power.

"Oh my," he smiled, setting down a blanket to calmly watch the scene unfold, "It appears that even more contenders than I thought have shown up. Looks to be quite an event."

He calmly sat on the downslope of a dune and sipped lightly from a thermos full of tea. Hiding his presence would really serve no point, anyway. The players had other worries.

A figure stepped out of the shadows and cleared its throat.

[identity profile] relimited.livejournal.com 2007-03-29 11:33 am (UTC)(link)
He was as ready as he was ever going to get. In truth, the weeks of waiting had been near torture to him. Being stuck, simply watching, while the others organised it all. Even training hadn't been able to take his mind off of the upcoming fight.

Well, that didn't matter now. Now was the day to prove himself. After everything that'd happened since arriving in the City, to both him and his friends, Akatsuki were going to pay for it all.

The jinchuriki that had already been slain. The hundreds, possible thousands, of people that had tried to stop them over the years. And now, the events that had occured during their time inside the City. Each and every thing needed to be paid for. And from the looks of the other allies around the scene, it looked like they were all thinking along similar lines. Akatsuki needed to be stopped. And now.

[identity profile] legendarysnake.livejournal.com 2007-03-29 12:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Orochimaru's eyes caught sight of the young jinchuuriki, and a smile rapidly grew upon his face.

Well, here may be the answer to our problems...

Moving slightly, he allowed himself to be seen by the boy, almost as if enticing him to fight.

Observer's Post

[identity profile] goddessdivia.livejournal.com 2007-03-29 12:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Hidden among the shadows of the trees, out of direct contact with the sun Divia watched the battle unfold. Oh how lovely it was to watch the silly mortals tear one another apart. Nothing...not even the daylight could ruin the glee she was feeling as the violence escaladed and the blood began to flow. "Such a beautiful sight to behold," she said softly aloud. a small snicker escaping the corner of her lips.

[identity profile] cagedbirdflying.livejournal.com 2007-03-29 12:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Neji finally appeared on the scene of the fight, pearly eyes scanning the landscape for everyone, seeing who was already fighting, and who had just arrived, like himself. Seeing Shikamaru, he began to move toward him.

to Neji

[identity profile] lazy-kage-mane.livejournal.com 2007-03-29 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Nodding in response as Neji appeared, Shikamaru added another name to his mental tally of fighters on their side. He might not have considered himself extremely close to the Hyuuga, but then who really WAS close to Neji. Apart from Hinata, that is, everyone tended to keep some degree of distance from the stoic man. Not out of dislike, but more because Neji just...wasn't a very social person. Either way, the Nara had to admit that he was glad to have the Hyuuga on their side. Byakugan was an invaluable resource, and without Neji, Hinata would have been the only candidate.

And Neji'd kill me if I even suggested that she have any part in this..

At last, Kakashi made it to the scene. He glanced around to see who had already appeared, and who had yet to arive. Thankfully, he noticed a couple of friendlier faces, and was put at ease to see his former sensei and students.

Slowly, the copy-nin reached into his pocket to retrieve a kunai, spinning it around his finger as he gazed at his surroundings.

He remained silent. His hitai-ate still covered his scarred eye, whilst the other grey pupil pruned the scene once again.

to Kakashi

[identity profile] lazy-kage-mane.livejournal.com 2007-03-29 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Sparing a glance at the battlefield, Shikamaru patted Chouji's shoulder and stepped back, melting into the shadows to reappear in a crouch beside the copy-nin.

"Kakashi."

Wasting no time on pleasantries, he nodded to the silver and black form of Sylvanas.

"I'm not sure who that is, but she looks like a ranged fighter, and she looks powerful. We may need your Mangekyo at some point."

Hana had, so far, been keeping to the outskirts of the fight. As far as Inuzukas went, she was usually the most cautious, looking before she leaped and that sort of thing. However, when a vaguely familiar scent reached her nose, she and her dogs veered off of their course.

While an Inuzuka might forget someones face, they'd never forget their scent. She knew that scent. She'd smelled it the day Kiba came back from trying to retrieve the Uchiha child, bleeding and half-dead.

Last she'd heard, the person who did that met a very gruesome end. However, since it appeared that he was actually here and now, maybe it was time for a little bit of payback.

[identity profile] seimon.livejournal.com 2007-03-30 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
Sakon caught sight of the woman and her dogs long before they even came close to the niche of Otonin standing on a small dune, overlooking the fight. A sneer came to his face. She reminded him of the dog-boy he'd beat the hell out of...and wondered briefly if they were related, and then settled on 'he didn't really care'. Looking to his master, he spoke regarding her.

"Looks like she wants to fight us. This may be our chance, my lord."

Orochimaru raised a hand, having seen the dog woman swarm his subordinate. Only one word was spoken, but they all knew what it meant.

"Go."

At this, he swept his hand down, pointing it towatd the battlefield. The time for watching was over. The time for fighting was now.

With the barest nod, Anko turned her blank eyes towards the battlefield and was off as obediently as though the hitai-ate on her head had borne a music note rather then a stylized leaf. With deadly precision, the purple-haired shinobi headed straight for the first target she spied. The blond kunoichi Anko knew as Yamanaka Ino.
