Log; Ongoing
When; Monday-ish
Rating; Tell you later.
Characters; Alfons [
opfern], Cirucci [
thunderwitch] , Noah [
romarequiem]
Summary; Noah ends up bumping into a familiar face and Cirucci, as the two were flying sans fairy dust.
Log; It was unnerving, she decided.
When a person passed her, she instinctively reached for a shawl that was no longer perched atop of her head, ready to shield her face from view. Instead she was quick to drop her gaze to her feet until they passed just as cheerily as they had when they had originally walked towards her.
Why did they not frown upon her as so many others had? In the place of snarling lips that spat words of cruelty towards her kind were sweet smiles that spewed only politest of greetings. It may have changed, but her ability was as clear as ever, only activated when she came into contact with someone.
The first man was a kind, gentle person and the only thing she could see were the sweet, smiling faces of a wife and child that he was eager to be reunited with. The next was far less sweet, a man who thrived on greed, a man who demanded more, killed for it even, until there was nothing left to gain. And now he was--
Noah jerked off to the side, hand covering her mouth as the gentleman walked on seemingly oblivious to what had just occurred. This place, despite the kind faces, also had those people. But, despite that, she couldn't help but explore some more, ever wary of those who stepped past her.
This world, though much different from her own, was not the world she had seen in Edward's dreams.

She hadn't attempted any barrel rolls, but there were various reasons this was making him ill. One was...oh the height. He wanted to travel to the stars, maybe, but in the safety of a closed compartment! Riding on the back of someone was a completely different story, especially someone who was smaller than him.
The feathers were enough for him to grip at, but there was just no way to position this without feeling horribly awkward, and why did her skirt have to be so short?!
It was when he was trying not to be ill while looking around that he noticed a familiar face, and just about strangled the arrancar in his hurry to fling his arms around her neck.
"Miss Cirucci! Stop!"

Craning her neck, the Privaron managed to find Alfons for a questioning look, mouth opening for soundless words. She'd invited the human out of... she would admit it, lonliness. She hated the ticking of the clock, hated being alone, and hated having no one pay attention to her. But he wasn't horrid company, she supposed, so she didn't have any thoughts of dropping him.
As it was her wings beat silent, only the occasional creak of bone upon metal from her bladed feathers and large ivory shoulder joints, the rustle of the feathers in her headdress that faded to tail, and the soft noise in the back of her throat as she tried, with a great deal of frustration, to ask Alfons why.

She smiled to herself and pressed onward, rubbing at one of her arms as the awkwardness began to seep back in. After a bit of thought she stopped, crafted a makeshift visor over her eyes, and proceeded to search the sky for whatever had cast the strange shadow. If it was a bird, then it was a rather large one, the largest she'd ever seen.
Well, she certainly hadn't expected to see something with a human shape looming above, at least judging by her reaction. It was with a startled gasp that she flattened herself against the wall and did little more than stare.
No one, no, there were two of them!

They were definitely too high up for him to know for sure, but if that was who he thought it was...then poor Noah had been dragged to a place she really shouldn't have, and currently looked scared out of her wits.
Could he really blame her?
As soon as Cirucci had lowered them close enough to make it so that dropping would not be fatal, he shifted off of her and let go. His landing...rather failed, as he hadn't noticed that curb there, and went slipping and falling onto his rump just after landing.
Winded, his tail bone bruised, and ankle probably twisted, he still managed to grin up at the terrified face. "Noah! It is you! Did you just get here?"

With a small sigh, (she was capable of that at least), the Privaron sealed the bone and metal away, returning the sword to her hip and absently tucking disarranged strands of thick black hair away from the spike of bone mask, checking garters and rearranging her uniform.
Looks like Alfons wanted to play meet and greet. Hmmph.

This place, what was this place?
After shooting Cirucci a chary glance, she stepped forward and reached a hand out a second time, but her fingers trembled and hesitated before she could touch the familiar face. His smile was warm but, if he was truly dead, then his face would not be. It was no surprise, then, that when she felt warmth beneath her fingers and not a chill, her legs gave way and she met a prompt end on her bottom atop of the pavement.
"This place.. this place brings the dead back to life?" Noah began, her voice barely audible. "Alfons.."

She collapsed before he could grab her, so he was left being the one standing now while she sat on the ground. A rather helpless look was shot to Cirucci before he looked back to the gypsy seated on the ground.
"Well... Sort of. I didn't have a heart beat when I first came here... For some reason this place gave that back to me recently... I'm honestly not sure if I'm permitted to leave...but now that you're here, your chances of leaving are pretty slim..."
Rubbing at the back of his neck, he held out his free hand to offer to help her up. "I've got a lot of explaining to do, but first we should get you inside, and I'll make some coffee or tea. Ah... This is Miss Cirucci. Miss Cirucci, this is Noah."

At the introduction she opened her mouth to speak. One thing that annoyed was the fact that she constantly forgot no words could utter forth, constantly reminding herself of the loss she had suffered when the stub of a tongue moved uselessly behind her lips.
She closed her mouth just as swiftly, glaring.

But that hardly meant the pity wasn't there.
"You were enjoying flight, I don't want to be a burden." She looked from him to the other as she reclaimed her hand and gingerly dusted off her dress. "A man told me I could find a room to stay in if I went to those tall buildings. It isn't everyday that someone can enjoy the benefit of flight." She tried on a smile, though it was brief and continued.
"After your flight, I'll make some tea."

His gaze was drawn back to Noah, though, when she dusted herself off and mentioned getting her own apartment. "Oh... Noah! You shouldn't be alone... You just got here. And trust me, I was about to lose my lunch if we flew much more."
It was obvious Noah was in shock... She had just seen a flying creature more or less transform, and somebody who was supposed to be dead greet her.
Stepping back, he tested his footing. Not too bed. His ankle was a little sore, but he'd get over it. "Edward's here, too, along with his brother... I'm sure Edward will be happy to see you. Miss Cirucci, don't you want some tea?" He glanced back over to her, doing his best to invite her into a conversation despite her lack of speech.
She could at least not or...throw things at him.

Tea. Tea? ... But to refuse meant going back. And with Wonderwyce there was no ticking but also she wanted other company, too. Grimmjow and Di Roy were out, others didn't want her, and... only he would right now.
Giving in, the Privaron dropped her hands from the angry posture crossed at her chest and put one on hip, the other rolling the gloved wrist in a motion to get on with it, then.

She was so on edge, in fact, that the moment Cirucci rolled her wrist, she jumped - as if fully expecting such a movement meant the woman was going to attack her. When she didn't, as expected, Noah opened her mouth to apologize, then let it close just as quickly.
As time went on, Noah imagined there would be several of these moments still to come. Apologizing for each and every once, it would get tiresome fast, especially when it came to apologizing to Alfons' friend. So they were both here, Edward and Alphonse. It would be nice to see them again, to formally meet Edward's brother under less grim circumstances.
"You and Edward gave me a home when no one else would, I couldn't ask that of you again."

The Roma honestly looked like she was about to collapse from mental strain, so he was quick to turn and guide her arm around his neck, crouching down and hooking one arm back behind one of her thighs to tug her onto his back. "Still trying to be strong, Noah? You should know that my home is your home. The company would actually be appreciated, you know. The ticking can get a bit tedious at times."
Making sure her skirt wasn't hiked too far up, he slipped both arms around her thighs to keep her in place as he stood up. His ankle was sore, but he could at least still be a gentleman and give the poor woman a piggy-back ride. Who knew how long she had been walking around the City, anyway?
Glancing to Cirucci in the hopes that she would follow, he started off, his limp hardly noticeable. "Miss Cirucci isn't really capable of speech right now... But we're hoping to remedy that soon. Once it is, I'm sure you two will get along? She can be nicer than some people think..." Ignoring the murdering and torturing part.

She cut herself off, shaking her head a little.
"This gift, it gives me more grief than joy." However, at him mentioning the company, she couldn't help but try on another smile as she nodded her head. "Then I will stay, unless they also return." That woman, she would never forgive her, nor did she think she would ever fully forgive herself.
"I.. know," Noah mumbled, looking towards Cirucci. "When you touched my hand I saw it, what happened to her." It was cruel, no one should have had to endure something like that, no matter their past actions. At least that was her own belief, as the freedom of speech was a beautiful thing.

As it was, she was more concerned about how she was supposed to be drinking tea without a tongue to facilitate such things. Humans who lost tongues must not live long, she mused.
