Summary: Dracula is not amused by the abrupt rerouting of his journey to England.
Log:

When the Demeter came to rest at Whitby, there was not a living soul above or below deck. Dracula had seen to that detail with ruthless efficiency. No one would know how he had come into England. No one would know that the men who had brought him had seen a monster. Perhaps, in another era, the living would have believed the fantastic tale woven in the ship's log, but the world was changing, and England's officials were inclined to approach mysteries in a pragmatic and scientific fashion. They were fools ... but their foolishness suited his endeavors.

Still, there was one more difficulty to overcome before he entered England. All members of the ship's crew had been accounted for in the log. No passengers had been listed. A survivor in the form of a man would be remarked upon and detained, but Dracula had no intention of coming ashore on two legs. Unhindered by the violence of the ship's final drive to shore, he moved above deck. He had taken the form of a large, black wolf. In the chaos of the storm, he would easily be mistaken for a dumb brute if he was seen.

The Demeter shuddered as she ran aground. Dracula leapt from the bow. His claws found purchase in the slick sand, but he skidded to a halt not two strides onto the beach and spun around.

There was no wrecked ship in his wake. The sea was calm, free of fog and gale and frothing waves. Dracula ground his teeth together in consternation as he slowly swung about. Everything was different. There was no village, no cliff, no churchyard. It was as though, in the instant he had left the deck of the Demeter, the world he had meant to enter had been swept away and replaced by another.

"And Seras is as his sister, quite powerful, but as Sir Hellsing stated, easily startled," Alucard replied. "She should not be bothered." A hint that Vladislaus was not to treat her as a bride or attempt seduction.

"Are you so interested in your counterparts?"

He very nearly stopped dead.

...A son...a son. He--well, not he, but a version of himself, so in all technicality, HE--had a son.

Vladislaus listened mechanically to Alucard, the idea that something of his blood had lived was far too overwhelming...

"...a son.."

Integral earned a few looks from the passerby by carrying a large man with her.

"Yes, a son," Integral reaffirmed. "I didn't believe it first. In my years, I have never heard of such case possible. But if we are involved, I suppose there is nothing we couldn't do."

"Sir!" Seras had been idle and felt the pull of her Master's call. She walked in, completely ignorant of their conversation.

She blinked at the long haired man who was in the company of Sir Integra and Her master. "You called?"

Integral was surprised but glad to see the young Draculina approaching them.

Her back was particulary grateful.

"Seras Victoria," Integral greeted. "Help me with this vampire. We must take him to our flat."

"...perhaps it only need be done with a mortal..." Vladislaus murmered to himself. A son. A child. A life.

His thoughts were interrupted by the call of a woman's voice. He lifted his eyes to see...a ravishing young creature. Then heard her name,

Blast.

It would figure the girl would be Alucard's fledgling...No matter. He nodded to her lightly.

"Why must you all be obsessed with children?" Integral asked, overhearing the comment. Alucard's fixation with grandchildren grated D to no end. "In my family experience as hunters; there were never records of a child born of a vampire. If I attributed that miracle to something is our family work on Alucard, perfecting him. Or the genetic quality of my bloodline. Both, maybe, we have grown symbiotic through generations."

She did not wish to have yet another force who would take women to impregnate them because of her fault. There was that Sandalphon angel already.

"...I see." Somewhat disheartened, but not lost. Not yet. This did not have to apply to his own story...

"As for your question...the joy of parenting?" He smirked, tilting his head her way.

[identity profile] steeldame.livejournal.com 2007-04-06 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
"Hm. What about adopting a child if you enjoy parenting that much?" Integral pointed out in disbelief. She was feeling cross after all those times Alucard insisted to have "sister" for D in the future when they actually have him.

Seras looked in confusion from Integra to the other.

She politely nodded back to the gentleman, unsure of what to make of his strange gaze.

"What's all this about children?" she asked.

"Why were you talking a stroll with Jan Valentine?" He asked, arching a brow at her, lips pulling away from his fangs in a sneer.

[identity profile] rekindled-heart.livejournal.com 2007-04-06 09:15 am (UTC)(link)
A low chuckle leaked through Vlad's lips, smirking Integral's way. "There's something to be said...about your own blood."

He glanced at Seras, smiling kindly. "Seems you've caught a bad end of a conversation, lady Victoria..." Then he looked to Alucard.

Domestic drama? How absurd.

[identity profile] steeldame.livejournal.com 2007-04-06 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Integral frowned and shot a meaningful look at both Seras and Alucard. Jan Valentine? She was displeased as well. "We will solve this when we arrive home," she ordered. "Carry the sleeping Count for me, Seras."

As soon Dracula was out her arms, Integral fished a cigar out her coat and lit it. "Has Captain Bernadotte arrived to the flats yet?"

[identity profile] hercount.livejournal.com 2007-04-06 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Alcard arched a brow to Vladislaus, then tipped the corner of his mouth into a sneer, upper lip pulling back to reveal fang. Summarily turning his back on Vladislaus, he walked near Integral.
