Edmund is actually at work tonight - he hopes a member of his family might show up, but he's also wondering who else might show up. He's made sure that he's well staffed for the extra crowds and well stocked, no less.

He just hopes nothing gets out of control.

And of course, that a member of his family shows up, looking for him.

I have - lived here, for a while. It wasn't bad, while it lasted, if you can keep the right attitude.

[And as a thought occurs to him...]

I wonder if John's still around...

That's kind of hard to do on occasion. Some of the curses are a bit much.

[She paused, tilting her head slightly.] John who? I know one John here.

[truant]

Oh, they are, but the way I looked at it, the entire place is full of opportunities for adventure we wouldn't have had otherwise. But I just never saw the use in being miserable since it doesn't actually do anything to get you out.

[He quirks one mischievous brow.] Is he a dog? Japanese Akita, about... [putting a hand out, reaching downward to doggy-height] ...ye high?

[charring]

This is true. Good way of looking at things. [She smiles, shaking her head slightly.] No. Sorry. Haven't seen'm. The John I know is about as tall as I am, kinda snarky and good with fire.

I was fond of it. Of course, you're free to borrow it anytime you want. No licensing fee.

That doesn't sound like the right one, no. But John's an enterprising fellow - charming and quite the looker, so I'm sure he's made out fine for himself.
