Summary; After Bane's fight with Ikkaku, he ends up at Yuuji's. Yuuji apparently has no sense of self-preservation.
Log;

Yuuji had logged off the network after hearing from Tia-san. --So he was supposed to be resting by the time she got there. Well.. that was okay, he would be. But in the meantime, he still had a while, and Bane-san's wounds needed tending. --Which was strange to think of, if he gave himself time to ponder it. Darth Bane, lying wounded and bandaged in his bed. .. Maybe he really was too used to dealing with murderers. Or maybe it was just because he was a nurturer by nature. Either way, it didn't change facts.

On his way through the apartment, he gathered his little first-aid kit up, slim fingers lifting to brush the hair from his face. At just over five months pregnant, he looked mostly like a woman by then, and he was only too glad for it when facing company or people outside. It was far less awkward if people thought he was really just female.

Taking a breath and releasing it in a sigh, he pushed the bedroom door open with his hip, moving inside and going to settle on the edge of the bed, pale eyes flickering over the man's form. .. Whatever fight he'd been in had certainly done a number on him.

".. Ready for me to change your bandages?" he inquired gently, features soft and expression gentle as he rested his hands on top of the kit in his lap.

Darth Bane, Dark Lord of the Sith, lay motionless on the bed, eyes closed, deep in a meditative trance, heart rate slowed, breath shallow. Through the Force and his own inner control, he had directed as much energy as he could away from vital functions to the healing process, and he could feel the cells in his body working furiously to repair the damage the Shinigami had caused not two days before. Between the several broken ribs, the damaged internal organs (he was fairly certain that one of them was bleeding profusely, that had been the first injury he'd worked on), the gashes across his flesh and everything else it was taking all of his concentration to keep it up. The bandages had helped, they allowed him to divert more resources away from the surface wounds and tend to the more dangerous ones. Most of those had healed, at least to the point where he could get up and move around for short periods of time or to check the network.

Dimly, on the edge of his consciousness, he heard the door to the room open and Yuuji entered with his first-aid kit. Bane still had trouble recognizing him as male, despite what the Force told him. But he had scanned him the moment he'd had the strength to do so, and Yuuji at least thought of himself as male, so that's how Bane would interact with him. You may do so, Bane said telepathically in response to Yuuji's question. His vocal cords had been damaged from a particularly nasty cut by that ridiculous sword Ikkaku had wielded, and they had yet to fully heal.

Still not used to the way the Sith could communicate via mind, it took Yuuji a moment to recover from the strange voice in his head before he blinked and nodded. Bane-san had been.. entirely docile for the most part, and though he knew that it was mostly due to the injuries the man had sustained, Yuuji couldn't help but be grateful that he hadn't yet been hit or otherwise injured. Especially since he was technically risking his baby, too, by welcoming the cruel man into his home.

"You seem to be doing a lot better," he murmured, not speaking too loudly for fear of interrupting.. whatever the Sith was doing. "I'm glad. I was really afraid for a while that it was going to kill you." His hands moved, gentle touch cutting away bandages and throwing them in the bin beside the bed. Antiseptic was applied next, and Yuuji winced despite himself---he knew it had to sting, and even if it didn't bother Bane, it bothered Yuuji to have to inflict pain of any kind.

Humming softly under his breath, he cleaned away dried and still-oozing blood, taping gauze down against the worst of the flesh wounds and checking the neat, small stitches he'd made. "At this rate, you'll be up in no time." He paused, then began cutting new bandages, flushing slightly as he tried to think of the best way to break the news. ".. Um. And Tia-san.. Tia.. Tia Dalma-san is going to be arriving shortly. I won't let her come in and interrupt you, but you should know that she plans on cooking lunch. She's planning on making me rest for a while, too, so.. if you need me for whatever reason, you can do your.. mind-thing. I'm sure I won't be asleep."

Bane's eyes snapped open at Yuuji's words, and he slowly but painfully turned his head to face him and fixed him with a glare. You invited someone in, while I am here in this state? he said, making sure to project some of his own anger through the message. She is to stay out of this room, do you understand? he said. No one save you is to see me in this state.

Chuckling despite himself at the glare, Yuuji began re-wrapping the Sith's wounds, taping the bandages down when appropriate. "Don't worry. Your pride is safe with me." He reached up when he was finished, the back of his hand against the man's brow to check for any hint of fever. "And I'll be bringing you lunch, myself. Whatever it is that she might make. .. Unless I feel that you wouldn't be able to eat it, in which case I'll make something for you." He smiled, the expression gentle. "It's nice having someone else to cook for, anyway. Even considering the circumstances."

Bane narrowed his eyes menacingly at him, then closed them and turned his head to face the ceiling again. Your assistance is appreciated, despite you insolence, he said. You are very good at this, he said, sinking a little deeper into the healing trance. Where did you learn the healing arts?

Smiling again, even though Bane couldn't see it, Yuuji cleared his throat softly and began packing away his kit. That done, his fingers moved gently over the re-wrapped bandages, checking to make sure they were secure. "Mostly, I picked it up while Minato and I were on the run. And I read books and things.." He hesitated, then shook out a light blanket and lifted it over the Sith---just in case. ".. He was.. missing an arm and an eye for a while, so.. I had to help him with a lot of things. Especially when he got hurt."

Yuuji's words stirred up memories within Bane's mind that he tried his best to suppress, the effort of it showing slightly as his face contorted. Ever since Lobsel Vith had touched his mind, memories he'd thought were dead and buried had been resurfacing in his mind, making him feel things he hadn't felt in years. Emotions that he was being forced more and more to suppress. And the strangest, most random occurrences were dredging them back up again. Your friend was fortunate to have you around, Bane replied.

"I suppose so," came the shy response, and Yuuji sighed softly, fingers flickering over the swell of his belly. "He's.. young. And terribly impetuous sometimes. But I was just as lucky to have him with me. He's.. protected me for a long time." He laughed lightly, a bit breathlessly. "And now I'm here, and I'm alone. But that's all right. It won't be the first time."

He was silent then for a long moment, simply watching the quiet figure. Bane-san.. really had been rather a gentleman in most aspects. Granted, it was because he was injured, but still---

"Cobray and the others are worried you'll turn on me," he added after a moment, mouth twitching as if wanting to smile. "I suppose it is possible, isn't it? I couldn't stop you.." And yet-- and yet, he still wasn't really afraid.

They worry with good cause, Bane replied, under normal circumstance I would think nothing of destroying you with a mere thought and moving on with my life. He gave up on the trance for now and brought his focus fully back to the real world. In fact, I was in a situation much like this in my own world some time ago. I was dying of a rare poison that I was not strong enough to fight off. I was growing weaker by the minute, and if I didn't find a way to purge my system I would be dead. A man and his children found me lying on the riverbank, and they stopped to see if I needed help. Bane turned to face Yuuji, fixing him with his gaze. Through the Force, I murdered his children, slowly, one at a time. I used his growing despair and fear to fuel my power, and the more pain and death I caused, the stronger I became, until finally I snuffed out his life, and the poison was gone. He turned to look at the ceiling again, staring at nothing in particular. Do you still wish to see me healed, knowing what you will be setting loose?

Closing his eyes in momentary pain at the thought of those deaths, Yuuji finally released a slow, weary sigh. ".. I knew you were something of a monster when I invited you into my home, Bane-san," he said at last, meeting the intense gaze with his own gentle eyes. "But I know monsters. My baby's father is a monster. His kin---they're monsters. I'm not afraid of you." His mouth twitched again, finally giving the man a wan smile. "And anyway, there's no one else in this City, I think, that is willing to help you without want of recompense. You're more alone than anyone I have ever met."

Bane watched Yuuji for a moment, narrowing his eyes slightly at his statement. You are wrong not to fear me, he said, but you will learn that soon enough. He turned to face the sky again. As for the latter, I have always been alone. More memories threatened to push their way forward at that, memories of the woman he'd loved, the one who had betrayed him with a kiss and left him for dead. Memories of his father. Memories of the hundreds of fellow Sith he had destroyed in the name of preserving his kind. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, wincing a as pain coursed through his chest, as he tried once again to place himself in a healing trance, pushing the memories aside for now. That Vith woman was the cause of all this, he vowed to utterly and completely destroy her when he'd fully healed.

Ignoring the semi-threat and noticing the wince, Yuuji slid a hand lightly over the Sith's chest, searching for anything he might have missed to cause the discomfort. "Oh, I know that you can kill me. I know that you can hurt or kill my baby. And you can make me afraid of what you can do.." He shrugged, fingers gentle against Bane's face as he tapped his brow lightly. "But I don't fear you." He hesitated, voice lowering slightly. ".. I've been through too much. I've.. been hurt too many times. I refuse to be afraid of anyone anymore. I have so little pride left---I do cling to that much."

Bane opened his eyes for the last time he intended to and fixed Yuuji with a glare. Thank you for seeing to me, but your presence for the moment is unnecessary. Go, leave me in peace. With that he closed his eyes again and allowed himself to sink fully into the trance, effectively shutting out the rest of the world completely.
