Log;
Outside of the Cybernetics cyber cafe, Alexander leaned against the side of the building with his arms crossed. Head lowered, he sighed deeply as he awaited Sister Takagi's arrival with a nervous sort of anticipation. Indeed, as the sun began to set, the paladin couldn't help but shift awkwardly in place and silently wish for Yumie to hurry up.

For Yumie, over ten long and incredibly strange months had passed since she had knelt on a London street while the man who raised her died and crumbled to dust before her eyes, then found herself in this bizarre world soon after. In this time that man had come and gone from the City more than once, but the first contact was always the same; for while she had experienced some quite significant developements in certain relationships since her arrival, the way Yumie felt about her surrogate father was comfortingly constant.

A wide grin spread across her face as she approached the cafe and the unmistakable figure of Alexander Anderson came into view, and she could not help but shout a cheerful greeting of "Father!"

How good that laughter sounded.

"Guess I should be careful then, that's not as hard a task here as it is in most places," she replied wryly, looking up, and up, the way one became accustomed to when conversing with Father Anderson. "How are you finding it, so far?"

"I know I sure didn't," Yumie agreed, then frowned a bit and cast her eyes to the ground. "This city feeds on strong emotions. Suppose that explains its thing for our world."

She glanced back up after a moment and tried to look more encouraging. "But it's not all bad. I'm glad for some of what I've experienced here. It is definately different, though."

"Well, for one thing, when people die here, they usually don't stay dead for any longer than twenty-four hours. It puts a crimp in our line of work." She shrugged. "There's more idle time than I was used to."

"I haven't; I'm as alive as the last time you saw me."

Something seemed to occur to Yumie and she quickly added: "And if Hellsing's former butler ever tries to tell you otherwise, he's crazy."
