Log, Complete
When; May 19th, evening after prom
Rating; Not that high. PG at most
Characters; Rosette
bound_by_time and Doumeki
monsterepellant
Summary; After a surprisingly good time at prom, it is essential for a gentleman to walk the lady home.
Disclaimer; Neither of us know how this happened. It just did. We don't know.
Log;
To say that Doumeki was surprised by the outcome of this evening would be an understatement. In fact, he had been fully prepared to just go, stay for one dance, and then leave. It sounded mean, but when it came down to it, at first neither he nor Rosette had anything in common. But somehow...something during that first dance had made the archer want to stay. And stay he had, as Rosette had as well, and they had danced several more dances after that. It was...odd. He almost felt guilty for leaving Watanuki to his own devices, but then...the other boy hadn’t expressed any desire to go, so, fine. Be that way.
So...he had gone, and he had actually enjoyed himself spending time with a girl that wasn’t Kunogi Himawari. How very odd and unusual. But then... Doumeki quickly shoved the thought of hitsuzen out of his head. The last thing he wanted to do right now was think of any of Yuuko-san’s slightly mocking explanations of the world.

But After that first dance, and the several after, the solid rock seemed to crack a bit and show some emotion. He didnt talk much, still, but at least it wasnt like talking to a solid wall anymore. Infact, she enjoyed his company.
She hoped Joshua was alright with his date, Kirie, even though she knew he had wanted to go with Nill. Maybe it would turn around for him like it had for her.
Rosette blanched at the thought, her expression suddenly turning strange as they walked together. Best not think of it that way, They just had gotten along is all.
"Uh...Thanks for coming with me." She mumbled, watching their feet.

"...you should give yourself more credit." The statment was idle, with the archer's hands stuck in his pockets, golden-brown eyes fixed on the sidewalk before them.

"No." he stated, one eyebrow raising. "Not that crazy."
Sure, Doumeki occationally went with the Mystery Club, but it was mostly to keep Autor out of trouble. He enough weird things to deal with with Watanuki without needing to pay attention to any of what Autor usually talked about. Sure, maybe the boy was right about some things, but not enough for Doumeki to pay attention. As long as it didn't threaten him or Watanuki, the archer had no problem with it.

"You know, its hard to tell with your poker face." She crossed her arms, satisfied with making him smile, and put on her whole, My-ego-takes-over-the-block act. "Though noone's poker face can stand a chance around me. Its impossible!"

"...hm?" he stated, non-commentally, though with a slightly challenging glint to his eye. Couldn't crack his poker face, huh? He had spent years perfecting it. Having her be able to crack it was unlikely. Even Watanuki had a hard time with it. So he turned his attention back to the sidewalk, said poker face falling into place again, an obvious challenge.

"Oh, if that's how we're going to play..." She turned her face from him, wobbling as she walked sideways to keep him from peaking. With no regard to her self image, she flipped her eyelids up, sucked her chin in, blew out her cheeks and made her lips pinched and fishy. She turned around and ducked a little in front and under him, crossing her eyes and speaking in the most retarded voice she could (which was honestly hard with her mouth twisted up like that). And as a final touch she flapped her hands at her ears, looking like some deranged alien from outer space.
"Don't you wanna give your date a kiss douumekkiii?"

He covered the laugh up quickly with a cough into his hand, turning his head slightly away. If he looked at that face again, he would laugh; there was no doubt about that.

He actually laughed this time.
Actually laughed.
Who'd have thought?
The sound was a rumble in his chest as the corners of his mouth lifted into a smile and he covered his mouth with his hand, trying to hide it rather unsuccessfully.

Oh right. This was why she didnt like high heels. Red tinted her cheeks as she looked up at him. "A-ah..."
Woops.

"Tomorrow?"
It was far too late to get a soda tonight.

He waited until she was out of sight and safely into the opera house before he stuck his hands in his pocket and turned on his heel, walking back towards the Hot Springs, feeling just slightly lighter than before.
...huh.
