Summary; Light annoys Ev, Ev annoys Light, and Amadeus tries to figure out what's going on. Something about Light wanting to know how the other two got out last time. Ev says he's shifty. Generally, it's complicated. Think daytime soap opera without the soap, opera, or romance.
Note; Oh. We're not up for a lot of work, by the way. This is an informal speech-action threading post.

[[Actually, Light was supposed to start this, but someone was a fiend who hasn't joined this comm, so I'm posting this. Still, Light's starting. I'm just doing the formalities.]]

I didn't mean to give that impression. My father is an investigator, so I'm used to asking questions and making inferences.

An investigator? Must be a busy man.

He works very hard, and he's solved nearly every case he's been given.

[another dramatic pause]
Although, a serial killer case has been giving him trouble for a while.

Yeah?

What case would that be?

There's been a serial killer on the loose for a few years now. He kills only criminals, and seems to be extremely intelligent.

Many intelligence agencies around the world are on the case too. We call him Kira.

Hm.

Huh. Haven't heard of him. How long's it been?

Around three years. The case has been giving the NPA a lot of trouble. Even the world's top detectives are troubled.

I try to help my father out as best I can with it.

Well, what do you guys know about this "Kira"?

We know very little about Kira right now. All we know for certain is that he lives (or used to ) in Japan, and targets only criminals.

...that's all? Three years, and you only know what this guy does and where he might be?

He's extremely intelligent, and somehow manages to stay one step ahead of us.

Besides, it's his manner of killing that makes him nearly untrackable.

And how does he kill then?

Heart attacks. He's able to kill a criminal without being there himself.

I'm not buying it.

...it sounds a little too supernatural. Taking life externally is common enough. Taking life by triggering a body's internal structure - poison or otherwise -

But no one can trigger a death by forcing another man into cardiac arrest.

That's what we thought at first too. But, it's been three years since Kira has appeared. If he really was killing another way, we would have captured him by now.

[Wonders if he should mention the L!]

He's been able to kill heavily guarded prisoners. I'll admit, it sounds like a bad novel plot, but we have no explanation.

But then, this city's able to do even stranger things.

We could be from different time periods, or 'universes'.

If you haven't heard of Kira, then we can't be from the same world. I don't think you're lying, and I'm definately not. So if we're all telling the truth, the most logical conclusion here is that we're from separate Earths.

[sighs, but stays nice. Ignores the finger jabs of doom. He'll give Ev his evil face later]

Ev is so fiendish. Just keeps up the smiley happy facade.
