Log;
Since his arrival in the City, Lucifer had not walked the same path that lead to the Underground where he first found himself. The very reason why he was standing in the shadows in the early evening itself amused him. All this much trouble just to get a decent drink, he thought again to himself. Log;
Since his arrival in the City, Lucifer had not walked the same path that lead to the Underground where he first found himself. The very reason why he was standing in the shadows in the early evening itself amused him. All this much trouble just to get a decent drink, he thought again to himself. So it is with a little impatience that he waited for a jester with the painted face and the top hat to appear and show him the way.

“Evenin’” Belial greeted with a grin. “Ready for the stroll, aren’t we?” Sie looked behind him, in case he had invited someone else. The demon had seen him speaking with Rosiel, after all. “Ah. Lord Protector of Heavens declined your challenge? A broken nail?”
no subject
"Some other time perhaps. Your Lord Protector seems to be one with a discerning palate." Lucifer said. And an even more delicate temper. He added as an afterthought.
"If there's no one else then after you Master Jester."

"But one isn't in a hurry to see him," Mad Hatter admitted, "Sheol and the other layers of Hell don't extend in his protective wings. A good thing, one trusts the ruling Satans more than his whims. This way."
The demon motioned the bone path that glowed in the dark. "Beyond the path there are monsters. Powerless but an annoying complication."

Though the path is clearly visible even in the dark Lucifer slowed his step to allow Belial to walk ahead of him. Lucifer could not clearly see where it was they were heading, as the ghostly highway twisted upon itself. But for the time being, they met no other creature as they continued their walk.
"What else is there to be found in the Underground?" Lucifer asked.
no subject
Nor did sie trust it was a sincere obsession. Mad Hatter knew well of tricks to pretend and feign to be obtuse by asking innocuous things.
"The darker side of the City, they claim above. But one would mistrust in those who say they have nothing to hide than those who admit they do."
no subject
"That almost sounded like confessing that your trade, Master Jester, is not of the honest kind." Lucifer said.
"Am I to expect the same from the proprietor of the Raven then?"
no subject
"That vampire? One never went to his club, but he shouldn't be a problem. Unlike the honorable Lord Protector of Heaven, if you want information. What involves him, has his sister not far behind. What involves her, has his Majesty very close. There is a chain of events."
no subject
Lucifer found the jester's observation accurate, though honorable is not a word he would've used. Though Lucifer had to admit, Rosiel's means are effective to say in the least. To what end this chain of events lead to, however, is something he probably need to stick around to see.
"We have been walking a while jester. I trust you have not forgotten the way, because I doubt that we are taking the scenic route."
Lucifer reminded the jester of their purpose, but was not worried. He had after all, taken precautions before leaving. He might not know the way, but saw no reason to travel blind.

Likely was to see how to move by himself without the use of powers. Mad Hatter thought that was a clever move and stepped into the darkness.

Lucifer followed Belial in the dark, the jester's aura served as a lodestone. He kept his senses alert for anything out of the ordinary, though what qualified as ordinary and what is preternatural is not exactly well-defined in this City. The rune carved in his hand itched, but he paid it no mind.

The darkness slowly faded to the bright lights of the buildings and shops below. The monsters presences could be heard and felt, but none of them approached to bother the travelers.
"Here we are," sie took hir hat and motioned at the pub that could be read as "The Raven." "Lack of red carpet for you, but they better serve good drinks after bearing one's company."

The surroundings gradually lightened, and after the initial adjustment from darkness to the glare of lights, Lucifer could clearly see the sign of The Raven and the end of their little stroll.
"Humility jester? It might suit you yet." Lucifer said as Belial once more took of his hat to him.
"I take it you're not coming in?"
no subject
Hir grin widened to Lucifer's statement. "Ah, but manners do, at the very least?" Mad Hatter tried hir hat on. "Unless you require something else, one would take the leave."
no subject
"I require nothing else. But do send my regards to your Lord. I shall be drinking to his health." And with that, Lucifer disappeared behind the Raven's doors.
