Log;

Standing by the transport spot, which was a pretty hard spot to miss given how it stood out from the rest of the forest background, Elena idly began playing with her ring as she waited for any signs of Reeve to show up. He'd already said that he'd been interested in seeing the alleged spaceship before and it wasn't until now, when the weather had settled back into something a bit more normal for the time of year it was, to call her up and ask if she was free. It was nice to know that her number on the PHS still worked for others outside of the Turks, though it wasn't like there would be anyone else who needed to call her. It was just one of those 'nice to know even if there wasn't any point in knowing' kind of things that made Elena smile a bit on the inside.

The reaction that Reeve would probably have at seeing the Durandal, even parked on the beach/ocean as it were, was something else that made Elena smirk as well. Given their own technology and the difference between the two, it would be quite the site to see.

This was going to be entertaining for all parties.

Hot weather had never agreed with Reeve in the slightest, so he'd stayed firmly encamped in his apartment with the air conditioning on full-blast until the sweltering heat wave had died down. Probably had scared Yuffie to death, running around in old ratty jeans and nothing else, but... well, served her right for leaving the bathroom in such a mess. He'd needed a distraction anyway, and doing minor repairs on Cait had reminded him of Elena's invitation.

To be honest, he hadn't expected his old PHS to work, but it had, and so now he was dressed back in a casual suit instead of his formal one, strolling down the path with Cait Sith in tow. A spaceship, she'd said. Somehow, he didn't quite believe it. The only spaceship he'd ever seen was the old Shinra #26, and it'd been only big enough to fit four at the most. Surely she wasn't....

Reeve rounded the bend and stopped dead in his tracks, his eyes widening at the sight of the sleek red spaceship. It was... it was enormous, functional and graceful at the same time and already his mind was racing trying to process the aerodynamics and structure of something that massive and failing. Cait sighed and shook his head, leaving his creator to gape and waving over at Elena. "Oi! Bloody hell, y' weren't kiddin' 'bout th' whole 'spaceship' thin', were ya? How many people c'n tha' thing carry?"

"... I never considered that you would lie," Reeve finally managed, blinking and glancing back down at Elena with a smile. There were spots in front of his eyes from staring at the sunlit reflection too long. "Pulling my leg, perhaps."

It was amazing- and she was right, configured correctly something of that size could hold... he shook his head with a rueful laugh. He was an engineer first; being a world leader was just one of those necessary evils he had to endure. But here... well, he wasn't settling in well. Whiplash from the changes. And speaking of changes....

"What's this, then?" Cait had caught sight of the shiny ring on Elena's hand; poking at it, he flashed her a decidedly naughty smirk. His creator just glanced at them, puzzled by the turn in conversation. "Looks like our li'l Elena's growin' up, Reeve. So who's th' lucky fellow?"

Tseng's words came back to him as he listened to Elena's explanation, several pieces falling into place. Reeve smiled softly, catching the oddly open look. It was... well, it was good to see one of them, one of the people from their world finally getting some semblance of requited love and companionship. It was obvious that whoever this 'Jr.' was, he meant a lot to her- and she had a family in the Turks as well. In a way he was almost jealous of those close-knit bonds. That was something he'd been cut off from a long time ago. Cait had it with the rest of AVALANCHE, but.. well. Pay no mind to the man behind the curtain; the reality is in the hologram outside.

Cait whacked Reeve lightly on the leg with his tail. "Lucky, lucky lass, engagement or no," he said brightly, tilting his crown back a bit. "What's th' chances 'a us meetin' this lad that's got y' all soft an' mellow?"

"Cait," Reeve chided, with a wry grin. "I don't even have to be nosy, he does it for me. So, how much for the guided tour?"

"Durandal...? Interesting name." Reeve followed along- rather, Cait dragged him along; he was still studying the ship, shielding his eyes from the sun with one hand. How had Elena managed to even get involved with someone who owned a giant spaceship? If he'd been forced to guess, he'd have expected her at Tseng's side, but it looked like that had been a juvenile crush in the end.

And now it seemed Tseng was the one on the unrequited side. Interesting.

Pulling his mind away from analyzing love triangles and aerodynamics, he finally refocused his attention on Elena. "I promise, we'll behave." Cait just groaned. "Keep your hands inside at all times during the ride and all that."
