Summary; Shirley has something on her mind and decided to talk to Suzaku about it, since he offers to listen to her.
Log;

Shirley was sitting down on a couch inside the apartment, caught up in her thoughts. Having agreed to talk to Suzaku a few days ago, she wasn't sure what to say to him when she was going to talk to him later today, despite how she was still troubled over the note she found which stated Lelouch was Zero.

From having no memory of it, it made her uncertain about its contents, which is why whenever she she has tried confronting Lelouch, she always failed to ask him about it. She figured that by talking to Suzaku, it might help her remember something or give her some idea of what to do.

Suzaku couldn't help offering to listen to whatever was bothering Shirely. Given, he was aware it might not be something he could help with very well, but at least, Suzaku knew having someone listen to your problems helped somehow. It was common knowledge, really.

He sat down beside the brunette, careful to keep a comfortable distance. Even if they were classmates and both members of the School Committee, Suzaku had to admit he didn't know very much about Shirley. In fact, now that he thought about it, Lelouch was the one closer to her. Why didn't...?

He cut himself off at that thought. No, he told himself, that isn't going to help. Right now, Shirley was upset over something and probably didn't think of going to Lelouch.

It could probably even concern Lelouch!

The thought came out of nowhere, but it somehow made sense. Weren't they so much closer before? Suzaku was suddenly... curious. However, even he knew that speculation would get him nowhere. First, listen to Shirley. That was his objective now.

"Is it about Lelouch, Shirley?" he asked first.

[ooc; Forgive my tenses, they are dead tonight :( and School Committee or School Council? Me cannot remember atm :(]

"That's because Lelouch and you are good friends, right?" Suzaku began as if that answered everything. Of course, it didn't. He realized that and quickly tried to explain the statement. "I mean... sometimes... sometimes you have problems with friends and you can't tell them... " Or maybe it was just him? Really, who was he to speculate about the relationship between Shirley and Lelouch? It was definitely just his imagination.

"Nevermind... uh..." he laughed a bit. This was awkward. "I mean, it's nothing. I was just thinking of something completely different suddenly and- I'll just listen for now."

Suzaku was puzzled by Shirley's words. "I know I can be slow but I really thought you and Lelouch were close friends..." And then, when Shirley asked about forgetting something completely having no recollection, he became even more puzzled. He thought for a while with that question in mind. There was a time- Now that he thought about it, it was that time when he had Zero before him and it had seemed like he would die with the masked rebel but--

Suzaku couldn't tell Shirley about that. "I guess I have... Did you hit your head somewhere?" He asked sincerely.

Selective amnesia? Suzaku wouldn't really know anything about that but he trusted Lelouch. "If Lelouch thinks it's that... it's probably something like that. You're not sick, are you? Shirley? If it's not some kind of injury... it's that, right? And I think... Lelouch was saying something like that. Pretending-" He thought it was odd, but once again, he trusted Lelouch. "He probably didn't want anyone else to worry..."

Hearing Shirley suspect Lelouch struck something inside Suzaku. He didn't agree with it. Lelouch wasn't that kind of person. He didn't have anything to hide, aside from his true lineage but that was because Nunnally and his lives would come to danger, probably, if everyone knew.

For a moment, he thought about how to respond to that and then he smiled reassuringly. "Lelouch is trustworthy, I'm sure of that. Have a little faith in him, I'm sure he has your best interests in mind... now about the memory problems... maybe we can ask someone for help for it? A really good doctor, maybe? I don't know anything about that but I'm sure there must be specialists out there for that kind of thing."

"We are." Maybe other people would think they couldn't be that. They hadn't seen each other in years. Strictly speaking, they were probably better referred to as reunited childhood friends however, Suzaku believed in their friendship. Sincerely.

"I'll help you look for one-" And then Suzaku had a thought- could it be? "Shirley, you just want to remember Lelouch again, don't you?" It made sense that she would be, Suzaku thought. If he forgot Lelouch or Nunnally like that and remembered everyone else, he'd feel guilty and want to remember everything about the forgotten person.

"That's because he probably didn't want you to worry about it." Lelouch was that kind of person, wasn't he? "Tell you what, I'll help you and we won't tell Lelouch about it. I'll look for a doctor for you."

Suzaku nodded once. "I'm your friend, aren't I? I'll do it for you."
