[Log][Ongoing][Rangiku and Sands]
When: Day after truth Day, afternoon
Rating: PG-13 for language
Characters: Matsumoto Rangiku (
10thdiv_haineko) and Agent Sands (
blind_shot)
Summary: Ran and Sands have a talk
It isn’t difficult for Ran to find where he lives. After all, he’s not the only one that’s skilled at snooping. The rooftops fly under her feet as she skims along them, intent on her destination. With a smile, she drops down to the front of the building and pokes her head in the door, eyes scanning the room.
Blue eyes settle on him, but she doesn’t move any closer, just watching for a moment. Finally, she slides into the lobby and strides over to him. “So, do you plan on running out on me this time?”

"If a soul is still attached to a body, I can't do much other than to sever the connection. I don't 'suck souls' or anything like that. Shinigami are much stronger and faster than living beings, but we've all been trained for battle, both with our blades and what you might consider 'spells' or 'magic'. Mostly, we're... guardians. We protect the Lower World from things like Hollows and the Arrancar."
Her voice drops away as a flash of memory surfaces at the mention of the Arrancar.
"It's inconvenient, us being here... it keeps us from doing our job."

It's not that he doesn't pick up on her sadness. He just cares more about the answer to his question.
"I felt the same way. But then I decided I could do my job from here. And when I get out and if this isn't all some kind of mental health issue- then I'm looking at a seriously lofty position in my field. Try to look on my bright side of life. Like Monty Python."

It isn't an easy subject for Rangiku to discuss.
"They're a mix of shinigami and Hollows, controled by the same traitors that threw my home into chaos. That gives them an advantage. The three traitors were Captain rank and knew enough about everything to cause major damage when they left."
She pauses a moment, turning a look on Sands. "It's odd, hearing you try and spout off positives... and who exactly is this... Monty Python?"

"So you got caught up in the losing side of Le Revolution. Are we there yet?"
Sands hears someone walking past his other side and purposely bumps them with his shoulder on the way past.
"Pardon."
"Monty Python is a group of learned philosophers who slap one another with fish. One of those things I'll miss seeing. Along with naked bodies, sunsets, and the look on a man's face when he catches fire."

She remains quiet for a moment, then smiles absently. "I think Shunsui would like that Monty Python. It sounds like something he'd enjoy." As per what their agreement, she removes Haineko and sets it on the table between them, making sure it was easily heard.
"And no, we weren't on the losing end, but we did suffer some misery after they left, but that's another story I'm not sharing. You'll find such sights as you mentioned don't change all that often."

His mouth runs up at the corner as she sets the sword down on the table. Don't mind us. Just two weird assassins on lunch. It never stopped amusing him the places you could be completely out in the open in. It was really the only thing he liked about Mexico. Though he did get a little too used to it at times...
"Clocks." He uses his pointer finger to make a circle. "When you need to tell me where something is use the clock method. For instance, 'Haineko is at 12:00'."
He listens for another example and hears a tray being piled with dishes from another table.
"Bus boy at three o clock. Savvy?"
