[Finished~!]
When; After their chat here.
Rating; Eh, G?
Characters; Iris Fortner
floweralchemist and Danny Phantom
karmasdoorbell
Summary; They're house hunting!
Log;
Well, despite being in a place where you were supposedly trapped for the rest of your life and subjected to curses every other day, Danny found that the citizens here were pretty damn nice. (Aside from that weird Riddle-chick and that guy that had called him an idiot. Ass.) There was a slight bounce in his step as he walked along with someone he'd met in the strange internet cafe. Hey, she was cute!
And for some reason, being in his ghost form made him less aware that he was supposed to be a nervous wreck around pretty girls.
According to that guide the ah, 'shinigami' girl had given him. The best thing to do would be to find an apartment. Honestly, he had no idea how a fourteen-year-old was going to be given a lease, but little was supposed to make sense in this town. Why argue?
He turned to the girl walking beside him and tried to start up some small talk, "So, Alchemy? Is that like, turning lead to gold?"

He turned to the girl walking beside him and tried to start up some small talk, "So, Alchemy? Is that like, turning lead to gold?"

Not that she needed to know that anyways.
He felt slightly dumb for walking into the cafe in his ghost form. It seemed he would have to be like that whenever they talked. It wasn't like he could just go poof and switch back. He had a secret identity to protect! It didn't matter if he wasn't in Amity Park anymore, right?
Right?
"Really? So if I found all the pieces of a ...PDA, you could just zap it together?"

Staying along side her, he crossed his arms and looked thoughtful, "Is that hard?"
He was generally curious. The closest thing he'd ever seen to Alchemy like that was on TV or in a video game. All he got back home was the Ghost wrecking and possessing everything. Oh, they had their kind of magic, but more often than not it was usually being directed at him.
Not always fun.

She paused for a moment, glancing over towards Danny. His words had ignited her curiosity. "But... what is a PDA?"
no subject
"A PDA? Uh, it's kind of like a mini computer..." He trailed off wondering if she knew what a computer was. "t keeps track of things like schedules and dates. My friend kind of lives off his."

Danny's world was sounding stranger and stranger by the moment. Still, a notebook you didn't have to write in yourself would be something handy to have around...

Then he stopped. "Um, so these apartments, do you know ...where they are?" Danny sadly hadn't went looking for a map when they decided to go house hunting. Crap, they might've been as good as lost now.

"Uh.." Iris was jostled out of her reverie by Danny's question. She folded her hands, looking sheepish. "Um, no, actually... but I was told that since we're kids, we should be able to get housing for free."
[It's all right, I know how that goes. My AIM name is Griffinkhan. :3]

Hell, he wasn't legal to rent an apartment either, but...What to do. What to do...Well, he could always fly up some and get a better look at the town. That way he could maybe spot them. Unconsciously, Danny started to rise in the air. He looked back down at Iris and said, "I'm going to take a quick look and see if I can spot something ...apartment-like,"

It was going to take a while before she'd ever be able to find her way in this city, Iris decided. It was far bigger than anyplace she'd ever been before, and her sense of direction wasn't the greatest to begin with. Maybe she should try drawing a map like they did of the Alterworlds back home?

Floating back down to the street he landed a few feet from Iris. "I saw a few buildings we can check out. On the way, I guess we could use it to get familiar with the city, right?"
The more he saw of the City, the easier it would be to find a way out of here. He had Amity to look after, and his parents were going to kill him for breaking curfew.

"So... what's your world like?" she asked after a minute or two. She was extremely curious about him. Well... what she really wanted to ask was how he'd managed to wind up dead, but that wouldn't be polite at all, so she settled for small talk.
no subject
Now if he could just block out that damned ticking.
"My world?" He was brought back to real-time and answered her question. "Well, it's sort of like this..." He trailed off thinking, "Theres more ghosts back home, though."
no subject
She settled for talking about herself instead. "My world's a lot...smaller, and quieter," she said. "The buildings are much smaller and we don't have all of these lights... I wonder what's running them? They don't seem to use oil."
no subject
"The lights? Electricity, probably." He said a bit casually. Though he had to think if she knew what he meant. "It's like making lightning into power. They use it in my world, too."
no subject
Still, despite how interesting the City was, it was also overwhelming. Iris glanced up at the sky visible through the maze of buildings as they crossed one street and moved on to another. "Everything's so much more advanced here. I feel a little bit... backward."
no subject
That made him wonder suddenly.
They were getting an apartment ...together?
Meaning, the two of them in the same room!? He knew that this had to be breaking some kind of rules somewhere. Though, weren't those the rules back home? Yeah, he wasn't exactly back home, was he?

By now, the pair was approaching the outer part of the city ring. A large stone apartment complex loomed over them, bearing the label 'Building 7.'
"Does this look like someplace to stay?" she asked, a little uncertain. Houses here looked so much different from houses back home.
no subject
He stopped as they reached the large towering building. He eyes it a little and tried to answer her, sounding a bit curious himself, "I'm pretty sure this is the building I saw earlier. It looks kind of apartmenty to me."
He turned his head to the entrance and pointed, "We could ask."
no subject
"That sounds like a good idea," she continued, in response to his suggestion. "And... thanks for agreeing to stay with me, Danny. That ticking is much less annoying when you're with someone else."
no subject
He started to head towards the door, but stopped when she continued to speak. He turned back to her and laughed a little bit, waving his hand. "It's cool, really!" Seriously, he was nervous as hell at the idea of them staying together considering the whole Identity thing. Also, the fact that she was a girl.
But he couldn't tell her no. What the hell kind of a person would that make him? No he was doing this, he'd figure a way through the glitches later, he thought walking into the lobby.
