LOG; ongoing
When; September 11th (backdated)
Rating; PG?!
Characters; Kinon [
keen_resolve] & Rossiu [
eminently]
Summary; Kinon just arrived and Rossiu is coming to pick her up.
Log; With a content sigh, Rossiu shut the door of the apartment behind him and went on his way to the fountain. Just in the span of hours, his mood had gone from apathy (apathy bordering downright frustration from being unable to do anything, really) to a vague sort of happiness that he couldn’t quite place.
He would almost call it… elation; that thing that roused itself in his stomach. He convinced himself that he felt this way because at last, someone on the same wavelength as him had arrived. Everyone else… he was glad that they were here and doing alright, but they acted exactly the same way they acted back home and that was… irritating, to say in the least.
During that long, painfully slow month Rossiu had spent in this City so far, he had hoped—no, wished, almost, that Gimbley, Kinon or even Cybela would arrive to make things easier. But "easier" was just a synonym for "feeling more comfortable" because he certainly didn’t think that people (meaning Simon) had forgotten about all the fuss back home. Rossiu thought that he was being paranoid, but then again, he couldn’t blame Simon if he had chosen to stay angry at him.
Yet nothing of that mattered now. Kinon was here. Kinon, the person he trusted most. It was selfish to want her here with him only to make him feel more at ease between people he should regard as his friends—but ah, that certain thing also didn’t matter.
Especially now that he had reached the fountain, seeing Kinon stand there like it was any other day—he couldn’t feel more relieved. A month was a fairly long time, after all.

Many emotions were running through her mind as Kinon waited patiently next to the fountain for Rossiu to arrive. She had settled onto a nearby bench observing her surroundings taking note of the city's structure and various people. It was difficult to believe such a peaceful-looking city could be the home of so many terrible things as she had heard from Rossiu.
Though, Kamina was somehow alive and well. It made no sense; did this city bring back the dead?
At the very least, despite all the strange circumstances, she had finally found Rossiu, Simon, Yoko, and Kittan. They had been sorely missed back home after they were reported missing for days.
When she noticed Rossiu approaching, she stood up to greet her superior. With each step closer, her heart beat a little faster; though she would never admit it to anyone, she had missed Rossiu the most.
She bowed as he walked closer giving him a sweet smile as she stood again.
"It's been awhile, Rossiu-san. I'm really glad to see you."

She was really here, and she hadn't changed a bit.
Rossiu felt like asking hundreds of questions about the situation in Kamina City—if they'd managed to evacuate everyone, how far the moon had advanced and if the Ark had made it to space. But that could wait, since the thing he wanted to know most concerned Kinon's well-being.
He offered her a smile in return and inwardly chuckled at her extreme courtesy. No, she really hadn't changed at all.
"The feeling is mutual, Kinon. Shall we go? We can talk while we're on our way."

Walking with Rossiu was relaxing and comforting -- especially considering all the unease her and the rest of the government officials had felt back home after his and Simon's disappearance. There were no words to express her relief that Rossiu wasn't hurt or was killed in some way.
Besides, if they did eventually find their way back home, it would make running things a lot smoother (plus there wouldn't be mountains upon mountains of paperwork stacking up anymore).
After a short pause of two minutes, Kinon spoke.
"...I can't express how great it is to find you and everyone else, sir. It was becoming more and more difficult to run operations back home with both you and Simon missing. I bet poor Gimbley-san and Cybela-san have their hands full."

t was the first time since Rossiu's arrival that he wanted to go back as quick as possible, preferably now, but the ways of this place were cruel as he realized that yes, he would probably be stuck here for a long time.
It was almost like a cruel retribution for his actions back home.
...Stuck in a city that served as a surrogate jail. Such irony.
"I wouldn't doubt that, especially now that you're here too," he said, attempting small talk but failing horribly in his own opinion. He was terrible at this. He felt that it was time to ask what he really wanted to ask: "What happened during my absence?"
[ooc: damn typos.]

No, they had to try and return home somehow first. That's what was most important.
"Surprisingly, things were relatively quiet. For whatever reason, the Anti-Spirals have chosen not to attack during the past five days back home." She frowned.
"We thought for sure with your and Simon's disappearance, they would attack but apparently not. Maybe some of their people have been teleported here as well?"

And frankly, he honestly didn't. As much as he was happy for Simon that Nia was here, she was still a danger to all of them with her random Anti-Spiral outbursts; but that would only become his concern if it would happen again, and it probably would.
He was lost in thought for a few moments until he noticed that they had reached building 7, and he opened the front door for Kinon to let her through. One could call Rossiu a lot of things, but he tried to remain courteous to people.
...That even meant Viral. But this was Kinon, after all. He surely wasn't going to compare her to the likes of Viral.
"After you."

Kinon nodded gratefully for Rossiu's courtesy.
"Thank you, sir." After she had entered, she paused for a moment.
"You know, I feel terrible for Simon-san. He loves Nia so much, yet she's our enemy. It's a tragedy for someone so sweet to now threaten humanity's survival." Kinon looked troubled for a moment, but quickly regained her calm, calculating composure.
"However, it can't be helped. Like you said, she's their messenger." Gesturing with her hand for Rossiu to lead the way, she shyly smiled.
"Anyway, are you going to give me the tour of this building before we move on?"
no subject
Kinon didn't have to know—no one would have to know his true feelings about this. It would only confuse and trouble people.
Her question snapped him out of his thoughts and now it was his turn to feel a bit uncomfortable.
"Ah, that... You see, I barely leave my apartment except when I have to do grocery shopping, so I wouldn't know anything about this building. I'm sorry."
...Why was he being so serious and apologetic over such a simple question?
no subject
"That's okay, sir. Maybe we could explore both this area and the city itself sometime. I think that may be a good idea since we may either find something or meet someone (or both) that may give us an idea on how to leave here."
"Anyway, for now, lead the way, Rossiu-san. Let's see the apartment."
