Log;

Simon was standing by the fountain, without the Gurren-Lagann, about to fight Viral over cake of all things. From what he was understanding, Nia had made cakes for everyone that helped against the Mugan, a special one for himself, as to be expected. Then everyone got these chocolate cravings and ..Viral wanted his cake? Fuck no, like he'd let that happen.

So now, here he was, about to have a down and out with the beastman over a snack that was his in the first place. This City had one fucked up sense of humor.

Looking around this way and that, Simon made himself comfortable sitting on the edge of the fountain, keeping an eye out for the furry. He wanted to get this done quickly so he could get back to Nia.

Viral wanted that cake. It tasted like shit and gave him the shits but he wanted more than ever and he wasn't going to let that naked monkey take what he rightfully deserved.

He stalked over to the fountain and loomed over Simon, his mouth bent in a frown.

"Simon. We might be on the same side now. We might be piloting the same Ganmen. But we aren't going to be sharing that delicious chocolate cake. I want you to understand that. If you give up now, I might let you go without hurting you."

"You're a fool Simon, to be sweet talked of out using your Ganmen. You had the advantage there. However, here, you can't win."

Viral cracked his knuckles, loosening up the joints. He might as well start it off. Viral slashed horizontally with his claws, hoping to rake Simon across his face.

"I'll let you have some crumbs after I'm done Simon!"

Viral wanted to see if Simon had grown up into a man yet. Could he match Kamina? The fist ripped through the air and planted right on face. The impact rippled through his skin and sent a welcome jolt of pain through his body. Viral's lip split, blood trickling down his jaw. He wiped it off, leaving a streak across his face.

"I see you're serious Simon. But not serious enough. You know, the Hime-sama called me cute. I think I might have a chance." Viral was hoping to get a reaction from Simon through his taunting. In the meantime, he hoped he could solve his other problems with a reverse roundhouse kick aimed at Simon's midsection.

"If I'm going to live forever, I might as well learn what I can about you!"

His foot landed into Simon's hands but Viral kept spinning. The other foot came off the ground and cut through the air. Viral's whole body spun as he put his whole body behind this next kick.

Viral hit the ground rolling and pulled himself back up to his feet. He stood up with his contemporary slouch, the weight of his arms pulling down his shoulder and upper body.

"Tougher? Your skin is to soft to be talking trash. Getting skin cream from Nia all 7 of these years?"

Viral dashed forward, his right fist preparing to shoot straight forward.

"SIMON!!"

Viral's fist nicked Simon's, knocking both of their punches slightly to the side. Once again, Viral felt the impact on his jaw but this time, it was hard. Harder than Kamina could ever hit.

His vision blurred and he stumbled back a little after being hit. He focused every erg in his body to keep from collapsing, no wanting to be first to lose to the human.

Yoko was running.

Feet pounding on the pavement, breath pounding in her lungs.

But nothing compared to her heart pounding in her breasts. She'd found Kamina.

... No, she hadn't found Kamina. She'd found what he'd left. He was gone. She'd always been afraid, in this place, that she would turn around and he would be gone, that it would all be a dream and he would really still be dead.

And it had happened.

"Simon!" She rounded the corner of the building as the fountain came into sight, the fighting, stupid Viral, stupid Simon- The future, all of the so far into the future, her future, and she couldn't even... she didn't even...

"Simon!" Her voice almost broke. Not again. I don't want to do this again. Clutched tight in her arms was a folded cape and sword.

Viral's legs began to buckle and he was forced to balance himself with his heavy paws. His focus was torn by the voice of the fat ass. Viral turned to rebuke her until he saw what she was carrying. Kamina's stuff. He must have left.

"Tch. That coward." Those words, cruel sounding, had a tint of sympathy, which was the most he could muster. Even he felt sorry. Sorry that he never got to finish his rivalry with Kamina.

She slowed, coming to a stop and clutching Kamina's possessions tight to her chest, her brows knit together, trying not to-

She didn't want to cry for this again.

"He's..." Yoko tried to smile apologetically, god, Simon was so old now... all grown up. Viral was older, they were all beyond her now. They had all moved past her, past the present and truth she knew.

"He's gone again..." They'd been fighting but she didn't care, not now.

This was ridiculous. Even Viral was getting sick. So what Kamina had left. Even Viral knew Kamina wouldn't want anyone being a walking sob story over his disappearance.

"Woman. It's done. Get past it. Stop putting on the tough act and put on a real one."

[identity profile] redsniper.livejournal.com 2007-09-15 06:49 am (UTC)(link)
"... Yeah-" She smiled, lip trembling. She couldn't even be mad at Viral, not now, had felt a flash of anger but it died before it had begun. Tough? Real? If she acted real right now, did what she wanted to do, fall to her knees and cry, she would collapse.

"I know, Simon-" Yoko pressed the sword into his hand. He had wanted him to have that, she knew. The cape, that was hers.

"So stop fighting for a bit, okay?" She managed the smile she was aiming for, tremulous and tender. "Kamina would have wanted you to have that, so, take care of it, Simon." She breathed deeply before she turned, starting to jog away, not letting her tears fall until she'd turned away.

"I'll see you later, Simon!"

Viral was miffed and ignored once again. One time after another, these humans...

"I'm leaving. I'll leave you sometime to mull it over. This isn't over."

Viral also turned his back, frown falling across his face again once it was out of sight. He had an image to keep and he wasn't going to lose it. Even for Kamina.
