What training Greed would be like, Jiraiya had no idea yet, but he was happy to get hot-springs access again, and happier that he already had a fun evening planned there -- one that involved a little better than just hanging out and watching people. A beautiful woman and some good sake, it sounded excellent to him!

He made his way to the springs, pleased that he didn't need to sneak in now; he could just walk right up to the place. It would be worth putting up with Greed for training, he thought, in order to keep that access. Hopefully the young lady he'd talked to before would be there by now.

"Oh, yeah, I think so," he said, leaning back against the edge and feeling the water lap around his chest. "It does take a lot of getting used to." That was an understatement and then some.

She chuckled, knowing just how true his words were. "I've been in and out of here over a year now. Each time I leave, I go back home and don't remember a thing, but I get dragged back here. It's a downright pain sometimes."

Deft fingers snagged the neck of the nearest full bottle and moved to offer it to her guest.

"The booze here is great. Very few places water their stuff down, so that's all a plus."

"They've told me I was here before, but I don't remember a bit of it," he replied, grabbing a bowl and holding it out for her to fill. "It isn't that I don't believe them, but it's kind of odd, trying to think about it."

He regarded her curiously -- and rather appreciatively -- for a moment before asking, "What sort of a place are you from?"

She obliged, tipping out a good portion before retreiving her own to sip from as she tugged at a damp strand of loose hair. "In a lot of ways, it's better you don't remember. This place does things to people sometimes."

The smooth back of the pool gave her something to settle back against as she pondered just what to tell him.

How about the truth?

"I'm from Seireitei. That's where all the shinigami live that are in current service. It's... almost like an old Imperial city, all white and gleaming. Very orderly and such."

He raised the bowl to her in a smooth gesture of thanks before raising it to his lips and sipping. Oh, she'd been right about it being the good stuff -- he grinned to himself. He knew high-quality, and this was it. "Does things to people?" One eyebrow rose slightly. "What do you mean by that? It affects them mentally?"

It was good to gather information; he still didn't know that much about the City, other than a few obvious details, and that wasn't a comfortable situation for anyone to be in.

A slow nod follows another downed bowl. "Some around the city thinks it 'feeds' off of negitive emotions. That's why there's curses every three or so days. Have they told you about the curses yet?"

"Curses?" He'd heard the word bandied about a lot, especially in the context of the day's odd events. "I've heard people talking about them, but I haven't gotten a good explanation yet of what exactly they are."

He took a long sip of sake and regarded her appreciatively. "What's the story on them?"
